I'm from Arkansas born and raised here. From white Hall Arkansas. Awesome video hope you enjoy your time here in Arkansas. Lots of beautiful things to see here.
My grand pa was born in Hope!
HEY, JORDAN & JAH
YEAH, GLEN CAMPBELL was one of
My parents favorite Country and western
Singer and songwriter
They played his Records all the time and they also watched
The TV show he did
And I also enjoyed listening to his Music
Well ok Thank you for doing this awesome videos On one of country music greatest
Stars Take care stay safe and will see you on the next video
I have a greatest hits CD that only has 12 songs of his, did you know even rock stars love Glen Campbell music cause he's timeless. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🎸
Good blog! My brothers and I liked his song "Pretty Paper" during Christmas time growing up.
Had the honor of seeing Mr Campbell live after he had been diagnosed with AD, he asked the audience to sing along with him and also not to be surprised if he had to restart songs because he was starting to forget some lyrics .. he sang everything perfectly, I treasure that night.
I was fortunate to see him on his last tour. I was blown away at how he still rocked the guitar and how robust his voice was, just as usual. He was truly an icon and a leader that so many will be following for decades!
he had that gift from childhood from all I have read about him also people who played in the Wrecking Crew said he could not read music but could play something after hearing it once
Many years ago, they were having a Glenn Campbell concert at the Paul Paul Theatre in the Fresno Fair Grounds. I was crossing the street to get into the fair, and they were playing Amazing Grace and the bag pipes were playing just like on that recording. That's amazing that they've got that song set off by motion in that graveyard. It does blow my mind. He was amazing back in the 1960's. Very popular.
Paul Paul Theater...I remember those days, from Fresno CA 👍
Hey I'm from Fresno/Sanger
I am a lineman for the county....Loved Glen Campbell. Remembering when he was with Tanya Tucker, what a disaster that was. It was upsetting to see the downward spiral his life was taking while using drugs and alcohol. Glad he turned it around and was surrounded with those who loved him until the end of his life.
I still think they loved each other but we’re too caught up in all the craziness of those times
IMHO Glen Campbell was one of the greatest entertainers ever to come from America. He did it all (singer, songwriter, musician, concerts, TV, and movies) - and - he did it for and with the best in his field (including Elvis). I saw Glen Campbell live only once in concert (as I did once with Elvis) and he did not disappoint - in fact, he was as good as gets! Glen Campbell's passing has left a gap in the entertainment world that simply will never be filled - and that fact is not just in my humble opinion! Thanks Jordan, this was a respectful, well-research, and nicely presented Vlog. As usual - you rock Jordan as you continue to remind us of the richness we had - and - have in our lives!
The Plaque says it all, one of the great guitar players and singers of all time. Hope your trip in Arkansas was enjoyable.
Oh boy Glen was also a session guitarist he worked with so many, one heck of guitar player! One of his Classics and my favorites as a kid was Witchita Lineman! He was a Genius songwriter and player . A beautiful job Jordan Ty for showing us!
Oh and song writer beyond! Oh yeah!
@@1SeanBond By the time you get to Phoenix Jordan will have read your post. (:
Beautiful memories, I like the music of Glen Campbell, he was so handsome.
Thank you so much for this RUclips 💗.
Thank you 😊.
Glen was a great guitar picker very well respected, loved him in true grit one of my favs.. Great vlog jordan!!!
Although I never heard of him, I enjoyed listening to Glen's voice through the trees.
my dad was good friends with Glenn. my dad was a Dj for the L.aa. basin and was a distributing editor in the capital building in the early '60s my dad was a major drinker
and really mean, he and Glenn would perform at nightclubs in Hollywood. drinking buddies. my dad's stage name was Smiley Monroe from Keyser, West Virginia. thanks, Jordon
This is so special! Back in the late 70’s, my dad had Glen Campbell 8 track tapes. I learned every word to every song he had. I still listen to Glen all the time. My dad is sick with lung cancer so Glen’s music is one of many things that make me think of my dad as a young man. Good job
Doesn't sound good but I wish you both well.
Sorry to hear about your dad, my first 8track tape I bought at 13 was Glen's greatest hits. He remains my favorite entertainer.
@@kennethhoneycutt2481 ♥️
If you happened to see the big aquarium on 76 when you went to Branson, that was the site of the Grand Palace theater where Glen played shows at for a few years.
We live in Little Rock and found the grave about three weeks ago. I love that he returned to his humble roots. No special shrine or pomp and circumstance. The music at the cemetery surprised us too! There is a picture out there on the internet of him visiting this family cemetery, which really touched me. PS-welcome to Arkansas! I hope you made some other stops before you left.
Indeed my favorite singer. I still remember singing along his Top Hits during the 1970's when I was a kid. When he was with Tanya Tucker they were living here in Phoenix, Arizona. I also loved his Bag Pipes, he played them well. A link to his Scottish heritage. Once again, Jordan. Great Vlog, Thank You ! :)
This so ironic that you're visiting his grave today. Yesterday I had a hankering to put Wichita Lineman (my personal favorite) in My Music and enjoyed listening to it again. He had such a wonderful voice! Also, when my husband was a young man, (he's 72) he and a friend wanted to ride by Glen's home and Glen's parents were outside and invited them to sit down with them and answered questions about their son. Such a nice thing to do, in the South that means Glen was raised by Good people. Thanks for the video Jordan.
I didn't know Glenn Campbell was buried in Arkansas nor did know he was from Arkansas. I like that they have music playing at the cemetery. Rhinestone Cowboy was my favorite song Glenn Campbell sang when I was a little girl. Thank you Jordan for sharing all of these stories I didn't know about Glenn Campbell. May he RIP.
Well Jordan, welcome to Arkansas! The Natural State. Glen Campbell was a favorite, seen him at Branson, have a signed 8x10. My sister got to meet him back stage with her friend Barbara Fairchild.
You should check out Jim Dandy Mangrum at Black Oak Arkansas, the original wild man.
And don't forget Lavon Helm born in Elaine, Arkansas, grew up in Turkey Scratch, near Marvell, Arkansas.
Elvis played for the first time Heartbreak Hotel at Swifton, Arkansas. He did 2 shows, one at the school and the later show was at Bob Kings night club on Rock and Roll highway 67. Location is still there, building has burned. In Newport visit the rock and roll highway 67 museum. Don't mis out. Early days of rock and roll.
I remember the tabloid blowing up when Glen Campbell hooked up with very young Tanya Tucker. Anyway...I believe he was the best male singer and musician. Loved EVERYTHING he did!
Like a rhinestone cowboy 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 RIP glen Campbell we will miss you 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
What a legend, his musical contributions are immeasurable…one of my personal favorites is his take on MacArthur Park. Thanks Jordan ✌️😎
I think he also wrote 'I'm a Believer ' & played Guitar on it for the Monkees ❤ Glen Campbell 🎸🎶🎙Thanks for this vlog ❤👍✌
Neil Diamond wrote it
I was just talking about Glen Campbell yesterday. He was friends with many including best friends with Alice Cooper.
I can barely remember Glens variety show from when I was little, I mostly have memories of the Christmas show which was my favorite.
Loved Glens hits when I was growing up, Rhinestone Cowboy and one other one that I can't recall at the moment. All of his music was really wonderful!
I'm so happy for him that he was able to stay sober and make amends with his past. Rest in Peace, Mr Campbell 🌹.
What a legend!
Glen Campbell legend of the music industry and very much loved and adore by New Zealanders . He came for a concert here , which was cancel due to his illness before he died . He was an amazing man despite his personal life , he love his fan to the end . Love the music playing in the background at the cemetery nice touch . And your grandmother story , she had a great sense of humor 💛. Thanks so much for visiting his grave Jordan and Jah it was so tranquil, have a wonderful day . 💛💛💛
Glen Campbell was a favorite of mine, I watched his documentary and teared up a lot, sad watching him with the Alzheimer’s..
I don’t know why my message got retracted on the live, but I didn’t do it ??
Great Vlog Jordan😊
Great video and tribute Jordan. Not too many entertainers left the impact Glenn Campbell did. I saw him in Branson years ago when he had the good time theater. Fantastic.
Thank you Jordan, 🌹this was a great Vlog 😍😍
That documentary was amazing. I remember Glen as a little girl on his tv show , just barely, but I had a crush on him.. As an adult, incredibly impressed with his musicianship and his joy of collaborating with so many of the greats in entertainment. I love him with Roy Clark.
Another great blog. A great musician. I'm glad he saw the light and changed his life. So sad that alzheimers had to affect the end of his life. It's so hard on the caregiver.
@@marywright6759 We're dealing with it in a lovely family member now. So far, it's just short term memory.
Was hoping you would get around to glen my all time favourite guitarist singer, thanks Jordan
Always great production on his songs. Thanks 👍🏻🇬🇧
Jordan, thanks for your vlogs about Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rick Nelson and now Glen Campbell, their in my Top Ten list of Greatest 20th Century musicians.🎸
RIP and long live Glen Campbell (April 22, 1936 - August 8, 2017), aged 81
You will always be remembered as a legend.
He was also in True Grit with John Wayne! Great Movie!!!
Thanks Jordan for this much deserved video. God bless Glen and his loved ones!
Thank Goodness we had his music. He had Great hair. Thanks Jordan for sharing.
Yes I really enjoyed his songs I wish I would have known you were on
My grandpa gave me his Gentle On My Mind album when I was really young, always loved it. His last album Ghost on a Canvas is amazing. Songs by Robert Pollard (GBV) and title song by Paul Westerberg of the Replacements.
Another terrific presentation. Thanks Jordan!
of people don't know he played on Strangers In The Night, Something Stupid and Houston. soo wish you would do a vlog about the Wrecking Crew
I saw glen at las Vegas in 1975 loved it love Australia💝🌅😀🐨🐨
This moved me. Thank you Jordan, Glen is smiling down on you. Done with so much respect.
Jordan Thanks for visiting my Hero's Gravesite . I attended His Concerts and was a Big Fan for Years. Keep up the good work.
GLEN CAMPBELL FANTASTIC MUSIC ARTIST A GENTLEMAN HIS MUSIC WILL LIVE FOR EVER ❤
Another great vlog Jordan Love watching your channel i was hoping that you would swing through Arkansas and stop and see Glen Campbell's hometown and gravesite. I plan to go there someday myself. I also want to go Dyess Arkansas where Johnny Cash grew up. Even though he was born in Kingsland Arkansas he moved to Dyess with his family when he was 3 years old. I believe that it's a really small town. But surely there is something there about Johnny Cash. Have a great day buddy, safe travels.
Love Glenn Campbell Jordon. He sang with the Beach Boys fire a bit too.
And Jah has made my day better too Jordon. The handsome little man he is.
Thank you, & kind regards from Adelaide, South Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
I loved his music, maybe because it was different genres. I remember the fiasco relationship with Tanya, she was talented also on different genres. Being born in '55. I grew up and grew old with Glen. Still love his music.
Good morning, Jordan and Jah!
When I was a kid around 7 or 8, my family and i lived in Nashville briefly, and we regularly went to the Opryland Hotel and Opryland USA theme park. During those formative years of my life i fell in love with country music, and really enjoyed listening to Glen Campbell, so this vlog really is cool and sentimental to see. He was a very unique musician and singer, and always love seeing people paying tribute to him even today, Thanks buddy for yet another incredible vlog. Great work!!!
Been a fan of Glen Campbell for many years. I remember his tv show. Thank you for sharing with us where he was from and his final resting place in his family’s cemetery. Playing his music as a motion detector is nice touch. RIP Glen Campbell. Jah is such a good traveler. God bless you and Jah.
Gentle on my mind . 👍
It’s a shame people don’t recognize what a musical genius was Glen Campbell. He was a genius on the guitar and a top tier artist.
Thanks for this. I am such a huge fan of his.
I had a piece of music from his show that was sent to me, sadly it was with all the other music that was lost when I moved from the home I grew up in
There are some of us that do know & it’s great isn’t it? My ex didn’t think he was that talented & I said obviously you’ve never heard him really pick. And once I showed him, he actually stood corrected, a most unusual thing for him to do, admit truth- but boy nobody out there can deny that he was one of the best pickers ever to live
There's videos of Glen's Goodbye Tour from 2012 on RUclips & you can watch him performing Rhinestone Cowboy in the different videos & you can see how quickly he was deteriorating just during the course of that final tour 😥
I watched an entire documentary filmed on his last tour from start to finish. I want to say it was on HBO but I may be mistaken cause it’s been a few years. Yeah you absolutely could see his deterioration and it was heartbreaking. That documentary was beyond awesome though. I’d highly recommend it.
Great video, thank you for sharing this trip with us. Side note, we have the same dog bed. Probably different sizes but the same bed. 😆
You've really had some great vlogs on this trip, Thank you so much for taking us along Jordan!!
Totally agree, Jordan's Vlogs are aging like fine wine💌
hi jordan, jah!!! thanks for remembering Glenn Campbell RIP!! still love love his music!! he's missed!!! stay safe!! have a great weekend!!!✌✌out!!
Another great vlog Jordan. I found your channel a few years ago when searching for Randy Rhoads documentaries. I watched your vlogs of Randy and the Musonia and your interviews with Kelly Rhoads. I am mainly a hard rock and metal musician but enjoyed learning about Glen Campbell today. I have learned a lot from your adventures, some things I never even thought to learn about. Keep up the great work!
It's knowing that your door is always open and your path is free to walk 🤠💗
Thank you so much for taking us through the life and final resting place of Glen Campbell who was and still is a part of my life. I never knew the struggles he had, but deep down he was a great man. Thank you for your bringing his life history to us. He is now at peace.
Great 👍 tribute to Mr. Glen Campbell 🎸. He was such a gifted musician, fine singer and handsome man! Thanks for talking about his connection to “Pet Sounds” album, Beach Boys and yes, it was awesome to grow up watching his 📺 TV show! 👏
I grew up on “Rhinestone Cowboy” and “Galveston”, but his song “Come Harvest Time” was life changing for me. Thank you Glen.
I talked to Glen about the Wrecking Crew & Beach Boys. He played with many friends. He signed my Wichita Lineman album! Uncle Boo! His daughter is a friend of mine! Nice job Jordan!!
Loved it Jordan glen campbell was one of my favourites ❤️❤️
Hi Jordan, wow, you really need a car or a bike out there. Well, that is the first time I have heard music in a Cemetery. Nice to see flowers on a lot of the graves aswell. Good old Glen, so many wonderful songs to remember him by. Great vlog Jordan.
Well Brother Jordan, we just about crossed paths at Campbell Cemetery. I was down there nearly at the same time. The budding trees looked no different from when I was there.
I'm 59, and one of my memories from half a century ago was watching the "Glen Campbell Good Time Hour." Your grandmother probably did a pretty good impersonation of Glen. He would turn-up that back woods accent when he talked about his hometown of "Dee-light" Arkansas. He was a hometown boy who did good, had a lot of success, but made some bad decisions along the way, and then ultimately made the greatest decision by believing and trusting in the Lordship of JESUS, where found "True Love."
"Duke" Wayne won that Academy Award for "True Grit," because he gave a great performance, but Glen Campbell was pretty good, too.
I know that I enjoyed a previous video about John Wayne's yacht that you produced earlier. Keep it up, and we'll continue to "travel" with y'all.
PS - If I known that you were coming through the area I would have let you know where you could have picked up some outstanding, award winning BBQ from friends of mine who live Delight. They operate a Food Trailer called "Lotta Bull BBQ," that they set up in different towns in the area on different days. I don't know if you like BBQ, but I'm pretty sure that your traveling crew would have loved the burnt ends. ;)
love glen campell ! thank you! jordan....
I've never seen motion sensor music at a cemetery before...that is interesting! Did it eventually stop near the end after you were there a bit? 🤣 Very nice tribute 👍
He was great in True Grit with John Wayne !
I love his music. Rest in piece, Glen Campbell.
Awe I missed you
Are you going to be coming to Mountain View while you’re in Arkansas? Lord of Grandpa Jones history here as well as Jimmy Driftwood
He was a great guitarist, RIP 🙏❤️
I saw him 6 times in concert, twice at the Ryman. That voice was like no other. He was my favorite of all time.
What a loss to music! Loved Glen and his music! Thanks again Jordan. Hug Jah for me. The music gave me goosebumps.
Love him!
I have enjoyed this video he is one of my all-time favorite singers so many special memories of his songs in my life keep up the good work you and the Lion keep safe all my best Ramon from Athens Georgia
am glad I got to see him in Lake Tahoe a couple years before he passed
Lov the vlog Jordan from Margaret parker UK give my lov to jah .
Funny to see you in my neck of the woods. My grandparents were good friends of Glen's parents and they did grow up poor. My grandparents picked tomatoes with his parents. My grandpa said Glen was lazy and sat around "whacking on that damn guitar" while his parents were out there busting their butts picking tomatoes lol. I need to get over there sometime and visit his grave. I literally just got home from Arizona where I visited Waylon's grave and left a guitar pick.
Hi Jordan - Is that the first time you've gone to a singer's grave and been serenaded by the them? What a unique idea. I have such fond memories of Glen's tv show and what a wealth of wonderful songs. Thank you for sharing this Jordan. Blessings - Judith 🎭🎵
Thank You Jordan✌️💗
Another respectful, heartfelt video Jordan, thanks so much!!
This is wonderful. I stoped at the Clinton boyhood home in Hope while on my way to Graceland one year. Thanks Jordan.
I love listening to the old country music still to this today.
Beautiful tribute, great musician, ty for all the info and for bringing us along
Jordan I live in Arkansas so one day I hope I bump in to you someday
Jordan did you recognize the little flower looking emblem on the gravestone....that was a likeness to the wooden sculpture/artwork that they had on the wall during The Glen Campbell Good Times Hour TV Show....he would stand in front of it as the show came on...talking, performing and introducing guests...🎶🎸
They actually referred to it as a Sunburst.
@@NorwoodGlenthank you
Wow. Great vlog, Mr. Jordan. I had no idea that Glen was such a great musician. Peace, from FL.
I really enjoyed that!
My parents and I moved to Arkansas in 2021 in September welcome to Arkansas!!!!
Daze with Jordan the Lion's videos are gentle on my mind....
Rhinestone Cowboy is one of my favorite songs!
He has a really great concert filmed in Sioux Falls SD, for PBS. It’s really well done & is on RUclips. I heard even Eric Clapton remarked that Glen was the best guitarist. Nobody could pick quite like Glen
Sweet Music Man.. Rest In ✌🏻 Peace We Remember You….
