The World has lost an immensely gifted singer, guitarist & musician. Glen Campbell 's songs will live forever in the hearts and minds of his fans, globally.
I'm a 45 year old Black man now (2014) but I remember Glenn coming to Red Rocks to put on a concert back in the 80's when I was just a teen. I was and still am a huge John Denver Fan but it was always something about that Glenn Campbell music that made the world seem just a little better. I hate diseases that take a persons mind and leave the body. It steals who you are. May god bless this great man. A Toast to one of the greatest who ever graced music. I miss him already....
oh yes, growing up in a country north to Brazil, as a teen, me and my friends and even my mother and aunts loved this man and his music so/so much. Thanks for your comforting words lordcron , when you wrote A Toast to one of the greatest who ever graced music!
3 years ago I got to talk with Glen for a half an hour or so outside of the Mohegan Sun Casino in the parking lot. What a real gentleman and very humble. He spoke with us like we were old friends, will never forget it.
Talented !! gifted man!! when he said he wished he could sing like Elvis I was screaming!! YOU ARE SO TALENTED!!! You are Glen Campbell!! how his family loved him through this. is so Beautiful !! Thank you for sharing the journey.
The love of my life (Kathy) and I saw Glen Campbell in concert in June of 1968 at the old Melodyland (a venue "in the round") in Anaheim, California. By June of 1969 I was in Vietnam and our relationship was gone, forever. But Glen Campbell, for a moment in time, made my life very special. Believing that the power of prayer is a dynamic act, indeed, I would like to ask that each of you join me in praying for Glen and his wife. Please join in, please have faith that we can help. Please.
I remember watching this documentary when it was released. Motivated me to delve into the Glen Campbell rabbit hole on YT and i have to be honest....it blew me away. One of the greatest guitarists thats graced planet earth. An absolute natural.
A damn good singer and literally one of the world's greatest guitar players. I'm gonna' remember him just like this, feeling good, sounding good, having a good time. my guitar hero.
I remember watching "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" as a lot of you did I'm sure. I was only 12 years old. I started playing guitar in high school and always wanted to play his music; especially the Jimmy Webb tunes. I still do. I only play that genre of music because I want to keep it alive! I have the whole baby boomer generation to play to! Thank you sir; you changed my life for the better.....
May God bless this man, and may the Lord hold him in his arms, this man is one true gent, and one beautiful man, fantastic guitar player ,singer, and just about the most beautiful person to walk this earth. God bless you Glen xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
This video just proves to me that Glen is a good man. He was truly blessed with such talent and had more in his life than most of us will ever had. I wish him well now that he is declining.
Wow -Remember being a kid and laying in the floor with my eyes glued to the tube with the family gathered around and watching him sing on Hee Haw . Those were the good days.
I saw Mr Campbell perform once..fairrly recently, in 2000 or 2001..in Clearwater FL and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Mr Campbell, from a kid growing up in the 60's and telling my father when a song of yours came on the radio to "make that louder", you have given me and the whole world endless enjoyment with your music and presence. God Bless and take care of you
There will never be another Glen Campbell. Amazing singer and guitar player. I'm now 72 years old and been playing his records for over 40 years. Still listening to him and he hasn't lost anything regarding his playing. Love him to bits. Keep going Glen.
I can remember the ache I feel when hearing this news. And cried for hours knowing that he would eventually not be able to be the Glen I have loved all these years.
Mr.Glen was born and raised around close to where I live I've had the pleasure to meet him twice and he is an amazing singer song writer t sir I love your music your always in my prayers last time I saw him he came to Nashville Arkansas along with him was his sisters it was such an amazing event to see and here him perfrom it was like he never met a stranger always had that smile I want to say thank you for all the great music ..I lost an Aunt a few years back t that horrible disease now I have a Uncle fighting it always in our prayers Sir may God always pour out His Blessing on you and all the familys that this mind killer stills from everyone God Bless you Sir I will always love your music,,, Best wishes...Betty Sanford Lewisville.Arkansas
sorry but there is no "fighting it" when it comes to alzheimers, it's down you go one way no way out and as far as I'm concerned the quicker the better (after having watched my mom go thru it)
I'm glad my folks bought Glen Campbell LP's when I was a kid. 40 odd years on and Glen Campbell has to be one of my all time favourite entertainers. What a guitarist, what a voice.
I walked into a pawn shop in the mid '90s and saw an Ovation Celebrity for sale . I thought I would love to be able to afford that guitar because thats what Glen played and its a great guitar . I thought not much of a chance I could afford it but I asked the price. The pawn broker took out his book of guitar values and , as I was short of breath and watching closely, he had clearly misread the value and said ..$ 300 and its yours ....I whipped out the cash and ran as fast as I could with my guitar ! I saw the original good time hour as a kid and Glen was always with me . Fantastic guitar player and amazing singer ..miss you .
Under rated by whom? He played on thousands of songs, he played with the best and he had huge success. This "underrated" might fit for others - but Glen belonged and still belongs to the Himalaya of music
He had been fighting this illness, for around 10 years at this time, and it's amazing how well his coping here. A fighter, till his brain totally shut down.
Thank you for sharing. My mom, a retired nurse, (and my hero), now has Alzheimers. I especially love your songs Try a Little Kindness, and I Wanna Live. :-) Keep singing!
we will never, ever see the likes of great entertainers like Glenn Campbell, Elvis, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. Ray Charles, Hendrix, Karen Carpenter....and on a and on. so many great ones to never cross our paths again. I am fortunate ,to have lived in a time, in my life, to see and hear all the greats perform. I can check out as a happy man because these people made my life better, and, fuller!
I am diagnosed with MILD COGNITIVE DISORDER that is pretty quickly progressing. It is true about music though... I can remember every song I have in my playlist

A real living legend in the RUclips era! I am so frightened that so many, so many of his calibre are gone today, that i only pray God for having him for many, many years ahead.
I have been a Glen Campbell fan for ever .lol just wanted to say thank you for all the joy that your music has brought to me .being a Christian I have to say that the day I heard that you were Baptist in to Christ was better than a new hit song when I heard made me rejoice for a new brother in Christ Glen Campbell is his name. God bless you and you will never be forgotten .
Lost my dad to dementia age 82 last year on August 7th. He loved his music, a lot of 45 records in our home. In 1975 me and my twin sister heard Rhinestone cowboy on the radio in the back of my mom's Plymouth duster lol, and my mom went and got the record for my sister, it was her first 45 record. Drove me crazy but it was awesome memory. We both loved Lineman song too.
Such a gifted wonderful man, his music and words make me cry. Its good to know he has the great love of his family. Keep on going glen and god go with you. xx
I consider myself fortunate that I was one of the people in his audience tonight in Branson, Missouri. Gentle on my mind takes me back to when I was a little kid riding in the back seat with my sister as my parents drove us to the lake. Thanks Glen for so many classic songs.
An American icon who's commercial success overshadowed what an amazing musician he is. Hard living at times in his life, but a generous, self effacing, humble, gracious, individual. He has given us a lifetime of memories and our best wishes and prayers follow him as he rides into the twilight of a wonderful life and an extraordinary career.
So sad to think that this master will no doubt lose his guitar abilities and many of his fondest memories. I hope your last years are filled with joy Glen, despite the pain you will no doubt feel.
My mom had the same devastating illness and she had to give up her life. I put her on Laminine last year and she improved so significantly. But when I ran out of them, I made the biggest mistake in my life after she didn't wanted me to buy more for her. Anyway, if Glen Campbell was my dad, I would definitely put him on Laminine, a product developed by LifePharm. I can't say it will work for sure, but it can work and may even help reverse dementia like it did to my mom. I hope it's not too late like it was for her. Our prayer are with you.
I saw Glen in Frankenmuth Michigan in 88, and he looked around this intimate setting of an audience and watch the only Hispanic in the room, me, and he grazed at me for a mila second and then he moved on. I love Glen Campbell and have enjoyed his talent all these years, thanks Glen for everything.
Saw Glen Campbell and his very versatile and talented band (including his children!) perform at the CNE Bandstand in Toronto, Canada on Wednesday August 31. Simply still an outstanding and wonderful singer after all these years. Not only was it great to see Mr. Campbell perform live but also to see the audience show their appreciation for all the wonderful music he has given us all over the years. Wishing you all the best Life has to offer, Mr. Campbell.
How lovely to listen to Glen express his very sweet nature here. He had a very strong Christian faith, and it was beautiful to hear him sum it up---about how he simply treated people in the way Christians are supposed to treat others. What a truly loving man he was....to everyone....and so HUMBLE.... a TRUE believer.........God Bless him and everyone....do your best
Glenn is one of the most respected and gifted guitarists in the world. His singing voice has such great tone and pitch, real quality... no autotune like the talentless wannabes that get thrust into the limelight today. He's also a skilled and talented writer. Sure. He's had his battles, but he hasn't given up. Any time he had an issue, he just got to fixing it and would get back up and go at life again. I admire and respect him and Galveston is one of my favourite songs of all time.
wow ...what a guy....hes amazing...both musically and humanitarianly.....I will never forget when i was about 9 years old when southern nights and rhinestone cowboy came out....i listen to them songs over and over again..very talented guy.....god bless him and i hope god looks out for him with his disease...as it is a sad one......to his family..treasure every moment.....and be strong!
Im sorry to hear this. May God give you the grace and blessings you need through this time. My Mom also had alzheimers and to me she was always just my Mom. Nothing ever changes our hearts for those we love. Thanks for all your music and know you are loved.
I've grown a lot of respect for Glen in the last few months, he is very brave! God bless him and he will give him the power to live through this battle.
What a wonderful person. Had the magical honour of seeing one of his concerts last month...truly an experience which will live in my heart aways...thank you for sharing your gift of music with the world...
Legend there is no other way to describe him. Thank you for your musical talent, thank you for your incredible vocal talent that he shared with us all, thank you for having the courage to continue your career in the face of such a debilitating disease. And lastly thank you for teaching me the true meaning of how to be humble. A whole round amazing human being god bless you Glen Campbell.
What an absolutely tremendously talented, humble, down to earth guy. There will NEVER be another Glen Campbell. Imo the greatest guitarist ever.........any genre
I have been a fan of this legend since I was a young boy in the 60's. I never missed his Goodtime Hour and have seen him live several times. My greatest thrill was meeting and talking with Glen many times when I worked for Ping Golf in Phoenix in the early 2000's. He is an unbelievably nice man. You would never know he is a superstar; so down to earth and humble. When I learned about his situation, I cried like a baby. May God comfort Glen and his loved ones for, hopefully, many years to come.
A Beautiful Story he was Blessed to Live !! What a Musician truly blessed with talent of 10 people pickin Guitars to peices and Singing Like an Angel.....Angels are Singing and Glen is probably Singing Lead truly missin Glen...Goodness, Grace Happiness and Continued Success to his Family...ol couple way down in TX 50yrs 2020!!!
From Delight Arkansas. to Cali. To the beach boys. To John Wayne, To your own T.V. show. To Elvis. To Tanya Tucker. To sobering up. To hollywood. To Jerry reed. To Johnny Cash. Mr Glen Campbell You sir have done it all . One of the last men standing. You make the State of Arkansas very proud. I am from Malvern Ar and your ours and we love you, May every night be a "Southern Night"..What a ride, My hats off to you. God Bless from TEXAS!!
Man, what courage to share this with the public. He is an incredible human being that has helped shape American Music with his voice and his guitar playing. Did you know he played as a session guitarist on the Champs tune, Tequila?
Glen Campbell is a master of the guitar and needs to be recognized for his contributions for both guitar and lyrics. Wichita Lineman wasn't written by him, but it was made famous by him.
I knew him since the 60 s. The first Song I hear in the Radio was, honey come back. I bought all the Records from him. I still love his music and I am still a fan from him. Greetings from Lamspringe Germany from Daniel Schmitz.
I have known two people who had Alzheimer's and it was distressing for them as their persona withered and deeply upsetting for those trying to help and live a normal life, which of course is impossible. Glen was one of the fines musicians and latterly one of the nicest and most humble men. Sad to see him slip away like this. My grandmother loved shopping (she was a frugal shopper) and dropped dead when shopping in Brighton one sunny morning. That's how I want to go please.
Listened to Glen all my life. I remember a concert LP my father had in 1970.... His music influenced my style in many ways...... Brilliant guy.... My thoughts are with him.....
Mr. Glen Campbell, you are one gifted, super talented and tremendous singer and instrumentalist. From Delight, AR to LA, CA to Nashville and so many places beyond. From top-flite session man to recording artist to headlining entertainer, you are the best - God Bless You.
Listened to you Glen all my life and your style has influenced me along.... So sorry to hear of your illness.... My thoughts are with you....... Martin.
I'm an old prog-rocker and I have nothing but respect for Glen Campbell. I have a compilation of his older material, Galveston, Witchita Lineman, Rhinestone Cowboy etc... and many might not know it, because he never really shred out on his albums, but he was an amazing guitarist. Some of you might recall the night he traded jazz kicks with George Benson on Midnight Special. Left a great legacy of music.
lots of very good, talented everyday people have been affected by this disease...my mom included at age 59, for 7 very long yrs watching her fade away, until she finally did oct. 21, 2009. God Bless Glen and his family give his wife and children the strength during his illness. Its tough, really tough to watch your love one fade away, while you watch them decline.
Glen had a unique soaring voice, like a glider. Unique, timeless He coud also become a classique bariton singer. I am from Bavaria, Germany, bought his LP "Glen Campbell Anne Murray" about 1980 - since then I am a fan of Glen. Unique talented. And worldwide underestimated. He is as good as Placido Domingo and all that classic men - but he never was recognised that good. Best regards to Glen from Bavaria, Reinhard
What a wonderful guy for sure! All the talent he has ran along with over the past 5 decades is incredible! Jerry Reed, Roger Miller, Johnny Cash, The Beach Boys just to name a few. I have so enjoyed watching as many great videos of Glenn on youtube as I can find. I wish the best to Mr. Campbell and the road ahead, the main road searchin' in the sun for another overload, God Bless and take care....
The best Guitar PLayer the world has seen on stage. Better than Hendrix and Clapton he was much better than all the guitar became part of him and it was natural. Because he was country mostly no one would recognize him for his guitar talent. Having played on more number 1 hits than any other he will be missed at least I recognize what he was to music and what he did. If you listen to rock and roll your probably listening to Glens guitar playing.
My father recently died from Alzheimers, this is such a cruel disease especially for someone with so much talent, my thoughts are with you and you family

What a great thing to say
Its so cool that he was so respectful of Elvis. And I'm certain if we could ask Elvis he would say the same thing right back at Glen.
Right on, right up to the end, Elvis would open shows saying, "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Glen Campbell", amongst others!!!!!!!!
and he played bass to replace brian beach boys sweet cheers

Glen Cambell Was a gift that I'm not sure the world deserved. R.I.P Glen. You are missed sir.
What a great opening line ... I usually make mistakes cause I don't want people to know i'm perfect
You quoted his statement wrong. He said, "I usually make a mistake cause I don't want everybody to think I'm perfect."
His guitar playing was as close to perfection as it gets in my opinion
One of the most talented musicians the world has ever seen. Every song is a classic. Many nights spent around the fire listening to your songs Glen!

Glen Campbell sure brought me plenty of joy through his music. A lifetime worth.
He is God's gift to us. There will never be another Glen Campbell.

God bless him and his family.
Watching this makes me cry so much right now. Thank you for your craft.
I knew him since the 60 s.
The first Song I hear in the Radio was, honey come back. I bought all the Records from him. I still love his music and I am still a fan from him.
Greetings from Lamspringe Germany from Daniel Schmitz.
Thanks to Glen Campbell's family. My wife and I met on a Blind Date too. I've been a Glen Campbell fan, since the Goodtime Hour as a little kid.
This made me cry...I will honour Glen by coming to see him In Edinburgh. Tickets bought for the Festival Theatre!
I'll be missing you a lot Glen Campbell!!
God, how I still love him! He was one of my first boyfriends. I was five! Lol, never missed his show.
Thank you Glen. I was a teenager back in the 70's and your music always brings back great memories.
A touching story delivered from the heart..
I've travelled through my life listening to this great guy....God bless and thanks for the memories ...x
Martin.
I'm so angry with myself that I never went to see him in concert when he toured new Zealand ,he was so talented Glen Campbell, rest in love Glen.
You have given us so much in all your music...best to you and your family in this journey. best!
We need more people in this world like these two.....God bless Glen and his wife !!!
@MrRonnieG what a heart felt message to leave,i hope you are well and don't doubt that i pray for people and more so for glen at this moment in time.
I met him at the Wisconson Dells and he was a very nice person.God Bless him as he continues to tour one more time
Love you Glen. My family and I are PRAYING FOR YOU !
lots of very good, talented everyday people have been affected by this disease...my mom included at age 59, for 7 very long yrs watching her fade away, until she finally did oct.
Best regards to Glen from Bavaria, Reinhard
i'm so very sad that Glen died. I grew up listening to his music. He was such a talented man. R.I.P Glen Campbell. 😢😢😢
My prayers are with the family...having had a dad who had Alzheimers and passed away form it I understand the pain and frustrations you have to endure
Hi Glenn ,
with or without this disease --> you are a amazing country singer songwriter .
All the best
What a wonderful guy for sure! All the talent he has ran along with over the past 5 decades is incredible! Jerry Reed, Roger Miller, Johnny Cash, The Beach Boys just to name a few. I have so enjoyed watching as many great videos of Glenn on youtube as I can find. I wish the best to Mr. Campbell and the road ahead, the main road searchin' in the sun for another overload, God Bless and take care....
Glen you rocked Boston this week. Enjoyed your concert immensely!
He couldn't remember the words but he automatically nailed the chords and the licks. A guitar master.
So many years of musical enjoyment, thank you Glen! God bless you.
My father recently died from Alzheimers, this is such a cruel disease especially for someone with so much talent, my thoughts are with you and you family
Smart and talented man with a great attitude!
