Alcohol and cocaine usually do not contribute to a harmonious relationship between two people who happen to be abusing both.
At least it wasn't boring.
It doesn't take both, it only requires one to abuse like that to kill a relationship. Glad, at least, that they could survive that period of their lives.
@@liberty5069 Agreed.
Cocaine is a hell of drug.
She has lived and learned that no one is without fault.
I appreciate her honesty about her life, achievements and mistakes. Being a celebrity couldn't be easy and it destroys a lot of people, it's nice to see someone overcome that.
You're giving her way too much credit.
Agreed.
@@leoperidot482 You’re happy in your own ignorance, obviously.
@@Ketowski Proud of it. MAGA 2024.
@@leoperidot482 Of course you are. Ignorant are proud of their Thugism. Your neantherthal genes overtaking your higher brain.
You can tell that Dan Rather really liked her. That is so nice to see. He's a smart guy so for him to be impressed by her, that says a lot. Great interview.
She is a naturally honest person. Has nothing to hide. Wasn’t perfect but who is? Love both of them!
Tanya Tucker was our 80's Childhood. Remember mom and dad listening to her on the radio in our big blue Station Wagon. lol
I was blessed enough not to only watch her perform back to sit down and talk to her too. I was probably 13, and my Mom had a cousin who was an engineer who helped build roller coasters, she came to perform at magic mountain in California and my Mom's cousin got me in and well the rest is history. That was one of the best times in my life ❤
Love you Tanya ❤️
Wow, what a memory. I saw Tanya Tucker perform at Magic Mountain many years ago - it might have been the same night that you were there. What a fun concert.
I saw her perform as a teen in Plattsburgh NY in the 70s - she rocked
@@BarkleyConners I agree - I saw her perform decades ago in California - she did a great show.
I had an opportunity to see a Tanya Tucker concert in Wheeling, West Virginia back in the 1980s and it was a great show and I wish her all the best!
Every Saturday Night, Wheeling Jamboree! Lots of great Country Stars performed.
I saw her there as well!
That is very cool, Joan, and maybe you were at the same concert I saw Tanya😊👍

Posted too got to see her in the little town of Auberry Ca. Years ago she was wonderful ❤❤
she was a sexy mama
The fact that Dan Rather is 92 is amazing and unbelievable
I think this interview is from 2016.
He could make it to the century mark. 🎉
He's doing us Rockers a huge favor with these interviews. And I am glad too he's not just sticking to Rock in general.
@@jillsalkin7389 Yep, but they are now releasing them to YT.
This interview might have been posted very recently but I think this was recorded YEARS ago. . . .
Always loved Dan Rather and still do , can’t believe he’s 92. God bless u Dan.
I always loved the truth which is why I can't stand swift boat Dan Rather.
So, you love being lied to?
Yes, but this interview was in 2016. Still pretty impressive.
@@jgjg3848 Did he cheat on you or break your heart?
He's another liar.
REAL country. Not for the faint of heart but real AF! Love it, love her!
Alot of the Old Country artists, the people my father listened to in the 60s and 70s were singing about themselves. J Cash, G Jones, L Lynne T Wynette, M Haggard. They were the youth of the 30s & 40s. Hard times. Tanyas father drove her all over the country, uprooted themselves and would not give up. That is what brought all of it to the stage. I have admired and respected her since Delta Dawn made her a star. Thanks Tanya!
92 years old and Dan Rather still gives a great interview . What a legend.
This interview is 8 years old.
@@GeorgiaOverdrive Ohh, I didn’t know that.
Well 84 or 92 he always was respected by those he talked too ! Top man.
The best ❤ RIP Dan ❤
Thank you for giving Dan Rather a nice compliment. Some people can be really mean in reference to him. Has he done everything correct no, nobody has. He is a legend at 92.😊💙
I will always and forever love Delta Dawn but also 2 Sparrows in a Hurricane ❤
So beautiful back then.
Kids, don't drink or do drugs! They'll steal your looks.
Have to admit I like Helen Reddy’s “Delta Dawn” better.

Loved Tanya my whole life! Great interview❤
She has lovely energy and great honesty ! That was a delightful interview as ever 🙏🏻 such great questions .
Never thought id like the personality of this entertainer Tayna Tucker. But I do. I get her. Not convenient to let somebody's complex personality soak in to understand the motives and vulnerabilities. From this interview, Tanya's a good soul.
👏
She really is a force. A fierce warrior and beautiful spirit…
She has been through hell and back!!! Good Luck, Tanya!!!
Another poor me millionaire, boo hoo😢
I remember all the cover stories on her rocky relationship with Glen Campbell. It was shocking because before that both Tanya and Glen had squeaky clean reputations, then it became all about drinking, drugging and fighting. I'm still a fan of both of them.
She was an outstanding artist, her singing voice was so good. Hardworking, talented.
My parents were young when they married, and I grew up listening to Tanya's music. No matter what she's done, her music was unique and beautiful.
Delta Dawn was my Aunt Sandy’s favorite song. She died in a car accident when I was six and she was sixteen. I have a few memories of her and that is one of the best. Us going down the road singing to the top our lungs.
As a little girl, I aspired to be Tanya Tucker. My family all told me I had the sweetest country voice and I could follow in her footsteps. Didn't take them long to stop using her as an example. 😅
Honestly, I admire her for what she's been through and still, she sings. Loved the documentary with Brandi Carlile. Great stories!
😀❤🙏🖖🎵
My husband is 62 and I am 57 and we still to this day enjoy singing Delta Dawn around the house. We absolutely love that song ! I think that he may have had a huge crush on Tanya growing up too lol. ❤
I saw her at the full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis! She was having fun performing and everyone enjoyed her show. Great lady.
My friend Piper worked for her and said it was wild times with Tanya back in the 80s.
Shes soundin and lookin good again.
Great interview and ya gotta give her credit bouncing back in the mid to late 80s and early 90s and racking up more hits.
Yes it is. Why boring as hell dan rather is getting these music artists interview gigs is ridiculous..
the comments on here about "not everybody was doing drugs".... lighten up, folks. in HER circle in the 80's... most likely everyone was doing drugs. so, you uppity "I'm offended by that remark" people need to chill. Rock on, Tanya.
Honest & forthright down home girl. Her authentic self. Self examination is the begining of wisdom. "I want you more than need you ... and i need you for all time." Glen was a Virtuoso extrodinaire. There will never be another like him. Tanya has seen it all and then some. You go girl. We love you.
Saw her live in 93 in Jersey. Her and Arron Tippin, they did a great show.
It's she, not her
What a great interview. Always loved Tanya Tucker and her songs.
Tanya was always an outspoken and independent woman and what a great voice! Earthy and her songs we great. She stands out from other country singers with her personaility, stage presence and voice.
She is one,for me, who, no matter what she has done, I will forever love. It’s not only her talent, but her drive and personality. I remember when she was off the rail and worried about her, but she has survived and still has it all today, one in a million.
You must be easily brainwashed.
Dan rather best interviewer
A treasure
Tanya Tucker you can’t get any more genuine than this great singer songwriter
She is real country roots
I think Tanya seems like a lovely person, honest, and authentic. Even her speaking voice is like a song.
My twin sister and I and our best friends used to walk around our neighborhood singing Delta Dawn when we were in elementary school. 😂🤣😂
Ive always liked to hear her sing. Tanya is like myself. We are getting old. But that happens to us all if we live long enough. Bless her❤
I really love her for her honesty, and devotion to her craft.
You have that right! She is able to admit to her mistakes, most people today cannot do that!
There are plenty of honest people who aren't batshit crazy. You need to get out more.
I MET TANYA WHEN SHE WAS 19 YEARS OLD,SHE JUST CAME OUT,SHE WAS IN CHEYENNE WYOMING IT WAS VERY COOL
And …..
Tanya you are someone we can all learn from. Please continue to give us your insights
Got to see Tanya Tucker when she was just starting out in Auberry CA. she was amazing !!! Love Dan Rather..she said it best for me my livestock and fur babies are my life
Her "Tear Me Apart" album on MCA is one of my all-time favorites. 1979. She could rock out!
Produced by Mike Chapman who was Blondie's producer- I think they met @ Studio 54
Tanya was hot. Beautiful lady and great voice. She's still going strong. I hope she has a happy life now
I was fortunate enough to lease her and her dad their first office in Nashville at the International Office Building on the west side of the Nashville airport. I think she as just around 15 or so just had first big hit.
The thing that always bothered me about the soap opera concerning Glen Campbell and her is Campbell was always loved by his band members and employees who never had a bad thing to say about him. Therefore I doubted Tanya’s side of things. I’m glad she said in this interview some of it was caused by her behavior. I just wish she’d have admitted that earlier many years ago.
The operative word was employees. You don't remain employees nor remain employed in country music by shooting your mouths off.
Their bread was buttered by Glen.
He was a drunk
@@Trojan4u He was from Arkansas. There’s no drunks in Arkansas.

I don't care what they say abt ms Tanya. Everyone makes mistakes in life. Its how we grow & become the best version of ourself. She's always been one of my favorite entertainers. 💕

Tanya was my first concert in the early 90s at the Fox theater in Detroit Michigan. ❤
Two icons right here! Tanya looks fantastic and good to know she’s doing well. Dan Rather, one of the best interviewers in the television industry and still going strong at 92.
I love all of these interviews that he has done. Good job Dan!
Seeing her tonight! Can't wait! True legend!

As a young man growing up I had the biggest crush on Tanya Tucker; beautiful woman, no one can take that away from her
Wonderful interview. I remember Delta Dawn too. Tanya has always been so strong no matter what happened to her through her life. I subbed because of Dan Rather...he's a true gem and a gentleman.
Wow. A great interview with two legends.
No Tanya no button pushing or anything else is deserving of losing your front teeth for no man!!
Yes, women are angels and words are not weaponds.
@@chriskitchen4772 words dont noc teeth out??
Every relationship may experience some provocation at times in a long life together . Most partners don’t beat up or knock teeth outta the other partner!! Most also don’t have substantial addictions issues between both partners as campbell and Tucker had back then. Most folk would remove themselves if too heated .. move away from situation to cool.. leave room or house go be with friends and calm… have to be nasty dark side or very outta control on D& A addicted etc to beat up & knock out two teeth!!
No excuses .. provocation as excuse says lack of self control for whatever reason. The perpetrator is the one who lost self control Simple fact No “ buts” and attempts to justify also show lack of ownership of the act & poor values & highlights entitled thinking that allows one to choose violence to express disagreement dislike or if feeling ‘provoked’ . It’s entitled toxic intolerance and inability to regulate emotions & distorted thinking & values to physically excuse harm to another believing one had some right to physically touch or hurt another male female adult teen or child cos of feeling ‘provoked’.. law doesn’t accept it either!!
What a real person. Down to earth and so talented. ❤❤
I always remember listening to Delta Dawn on the AM radio all the time back in the day. Then I was shocked when i learned she was the same age as me. She's still beautiful as ever! ❤
My favorite Tanya songs are “My Arms Stay Open All Night” and “Little Things”….
At 5:59, Tanya , " And look at the lady who had a baby at 90 ... What was her name ?" Dan Rather ( rather softly ) " I dont remember her name " ( Secretly thinking " Wtf is she talking about ?) Tanya says, " I want to say Rosemary , but I don't think that's it " 😂 Dan wasn't laughing , but I couldn't stop. 😂
I think people forget that these music artists are just human like we all are. They make mistakes and have regrets just like anyone else. I believe the best musical talents have some awful backstories but that makes their work so much better. It puts authenticity in their songs. Tanya Tucker has always had great music and came from a place of being real.
Tanya is a true legend! Such a unique voice and heart of gold.
I tell you there are plenty of women country artists with hearts of gold from the 70s who aren't crazy like Tanya Tucker.

I remember my dad coming home with her brand new Delta Dawn Album - he was so excited! Played it on that big ole’ console record player!
Back in the day TT was a hottie.
Finally admitting that it takes 2 to tango
I have always loved Tanya Tucker! Dan Rather too!
My intuition tells me that she was probably a real nightmare to deal with back in the day.
tough! oh you bet! Luckily even in rebellion, she did listen to her dad!
She STILL looks batshit crazy! It's one of those instances you can judge a book by its cover.
Love Tanya and her music! ❤️
Takes time to admit your side of a bad relationship but doesn’t remove fact Campbell was complicit and he physically abused and assaulted and hurt her .. she was 22, half his age(44) and he was divorced from wife no 3 at that time which says a lot about him!! And he went thro 2 more wives after her!! He was addicted to coke and introduced her to it her!
Domestic violencein a relationship whether escalated by drugs alcohol addictions provocations behaviours or whatever stress is still not acceptable or any excuse . If you hit or hurt anyone - man women or kid you are the perpetrator no excuses . You have to own that shame.. Cos every body can feel provoked.. especially by out of control provocative person or disinhibited by drugs but most folk remove themselves before they do anything harmful!!
My favorite all time country artist ❤❤❤
Me too.
I love Tanya'stuckers music❤
Seriously, her life story could be a movie.
It probably will be, no joke.
Love Tanya Tucker! She one in a million!
Pushing buttons is no excuse for physical abuse. It's never your fault for someone being violent.
Tanya is the best, saw her in Tulsa 5 yrs ago or so, amazing, hold strong girl!
In the 80's I was raising children, not taking drugs. Guess I'm not everybody.
Me too, they were most important. Even if I had money for drugs it would not of happened.
It was pretty common to NOT take drugs. It still is.
You weren't a celebrity........
@@Trojan4u There were plenty of celebs who weren't drunks and didn't make jackasses out of themselves. Look at Reba.
