I talked with DJI support and shared my DVR and goggles logs, they are aware of the issue and are investigating it
hence the reason O3 is being cleared out of stock. Get rid of the evidence, fast! 😅

@@kavorka8855 they asked to send the O3 and the Goggles to them. O3 was damaged after crash and I don’t want to send the goggles because I want to fly. So I am just pushing them to investigate and make a public announcements
Just had video loss some days ago. First time since years I have experienced this. Your video just came at the right time since I could not find anything wrong with my build.
I have experience this on both my G2 and G3 goggles after updating my O3 to the latest firmware. Even after a refresh. I did the ham file hack and that has made it much better.
That is good to know. At least it points to just being a bug in the firmware that can be fixed

@@jostchen they usually go inside when I'm flying... nevertheless, I'll not be doing THAT until this "issue", which is probably limited to some particular scenarios, is resolved, or, at least, until Ian says that he "never said it was confirmed to be a problem"...

me too. several times in low altidude, slow speed, next to me.
Ok so here it is...
I upgraded the O3 on my CL35V2 to the latest firmware and started to have backouts sporadically, with my G3 and Integras BOTH, specially close to ground at a distance of 200 to 300 meters ina clear LOS.
Downgraded the O3 to last but one and no blackouts whatsoever, however I lost connectivity with G3 because .02 fimware does not support G3. Integras worked absolutely fine without a glitch at the same location and same aircraft.
I can now confirm that there seems to be a bug with the O3 firmware and not the goggles. Because O3 post update is behaving erratic with all my googles.
I can confirm, I got this issue with O3 + Goggles 3. I was doing a test flight with my long range kwad and frozen the video feed and crash

This happened to me twice now. Unfortunately lost one quad.. 😢. I’ve downgraded all the firmware on my O3 units and have gone back to using the goggles 2 until they figure this out. This is crazy.. it’s a serious safety hazard..
Hello, thank you for your video, I have now had the problem 6 times with my O3 Air Unit and the Goggels3. I can't find anything else about the problem on the internet. I have already called DJI a total of 4 times and support doesn't know anything about this problem I reinstalled the firmware on the glasses and on the O3 and the problem still exists. Please DJI Find a solution

My guess:
The Googles 3 has a higher transfer rate than the Goggles 2 / Integra.
The resulting higher power consumption was probably not taken into account in the O3 Air Unit firmware.
Perhaps the O3 Air Unit is trying to provide the 60 MBit/s supported by the Goggles 3.
I updated the 03 firmware to the latest even though I use the goggles 2 . So far no issue of video loss have happened to me.

I just built my first 5" freestyle and went with 03 air unit because I already had goggles 3. This has happened to me 3 times now causing bad crashes. No problems with my avata 2.
I prepared a brand new build ready to set up and I had updated my new O3 to the last firmware. I’m running to downgrade it immediately to avoid destroy my brand new 5 inches build 😂 I’m on G2.

Happened to me too with G3 and O3, when i was in close proximity about to split S on a high tree and relatively nearby road when the video feed signal suddenly turned red, image froze intermittently on about 1 second+ intervals. I stay calmed and estimated my stick movements while i have sporadic image regaining. Eventually the signal returned to fly back safely... i may revert to the older firmware version and use my integra atm...

hi there, I'm using goggles 2 with o3 au and I'm having this issue. just updated googles via dji assistant. going to do as you said and do a full goggles reset to see if this issue is solved. will let you know in a few hours
The problem is that once the Goggles 3 loses video, it only searches for a disarmed drone (which is always transmitting on channel 8). So I can conclude that they only scan channel 8 after losing video.
To prove that, I tried another test, where I armed the drone before powering up the goggles. After powering up the goggles, the same thing happens. The goggles don't find the armed drone. I can conclude that upon powering up the Goggles 3 they also scan only channel 8.
I have tried the same tests, alternating between Auto and Manual channel selection. and also alternating Low Power Mode and Auto record, enabled and disabled. The same results apply.
Losing video with the Goggles 3, even for a brief moment will result in the black screen of death, and it will not come back until you disarm, and get close enough to the drone.
Upgraded o3 FW, googles2. Pic freeze, drone 20m away. Have DVR with no osd. Had to disarm.
Will check if I can revert FW back.
Flying same spot almost 2 years. Never had video lost on that spot.
Sounds like it's the 03 side of the upgrade that has the bug.
@@AcruxFPV will try to upgrade another unit and see if issue present there as well.
@@dmitrymishchenko5739 I've upgraded 17 of my units, flown 4 so far without any problems with the G3s.
I updated with the new goggle 3 and firmware and i had issue with my drone with the 03 air unit connection fail. I went back with the goggle v2 and so far i have no issue of the drone dropping.
It happened to me already like 50 fr from me the drone just fell down without any big reason , using goggles 3 and air unit 03 my first day trying an air unit in my life
I tested on 4 different drones and only had the problem on one that had the O3 connected to a bec on the fc. As for the others where O3 was connected to the vbat, I had no problems. I imagine it may have something to do with a power consumption problem. Because the vbat does not have the limitations of a bec 9v.

Having G3 + 2x airunit O3. Got this issue with O3 + Goggles 3 as well, but only on one of the O3. Opened a ticket @ DJI Support - they asked me more log (DVR + goggles logs), but "unfortunately" have not encountered the bug anymore. Pretty confident DJI will solve it soon. I have saved my FPV drones by actioning RTH immediately after cut-off

I've experienced this with G2 (previous firmware, v01.09.0000) + O3 (latest firmware, V01.03.0000).
50 Mbps and 1 sec blackout out of nowhere. Live view resumed but the DVR stopped recording after the blackout.
An “odd issue” I've not seen reported by others.
I have updated the DJI o3 software on many of my o3 drones so that the Goggles3 will work with them. I have experienced a few "blackouts" but I did not have to reboot the drone to recover video. In each case I landed and disarmed and video returned. However, another "weird observation" has to do with the time stamp on the o3 DVR video files.
Once upgraded, the Goggles3 and o3 unit video files have significantly different time stamps. When I download the video files from the o3 air unit DVR, those files have the wrong time stamp (they date on the files is the same day I updated the software). The Goggles3 video files have the correct date.
Any ideas on how to update the Goggles3/o3 so the time stamp is correct?
I set goggles 3 remote 2 on my small geprc darkstar20 and it starts overhead more quickly and the battery live drops from 4min (XFIRE + GOGGLES V2) to 2.8..... flying indoor for real estate
Happened to me... unfortunately lost the quad in the canal somewhere because of it... they gave me half off a new o3... then days later it got discounted everywhere. Yay
I fly with 03 air unit and googles 2 and goggles 3 never had a problem updated as soon as came out never had a problem even bando bashing signal is always great ! I must be lucky lol

I can confirm same bug with Avata 2. It’s too risky to fly at the moment. Please solve it quickly or give us guidelines on how to fix it !
I recently bought the Goggles 3 and built my first digital quad, an 8-inch with the DJI O3. In my initial test flights, everything went smoothly-I was lucky this time. However, I can't fly again until the next update for safety reasons. Additionally, the DJI app is not launching after the security updates on my Google Pixel 8 (why not use the Play Store?). So far, I'm disappointed with DJI and wish I had continued with analog for a few more months.

This happened to me! On goggles 3 and O3 - both are fully updated. Video dropped with line of sight causing a crash.
already 15+ packs on o3 + g3, luckily no problem so far...

I was considering buying an O3 drone after losing my Avata 2. Glad I've not bought it yet. Flying my analogs until fix from DJI.
I watched this the other day just after I updated my Goggles 3 and Air Unit. I was a bit late to updating as I was away on vacation. That being said I flew it in the mountains and I noticed some stutter but this may have been due to the trees so didn't take much risk to not lose the quad. I did some more flying today in an open field across road and didn't see any issues with Goggles 3, had a constant bit rate of 50mbps. I tried both 4K60 and 4K120.
I want to try V2s tomorrow to see if there an improvement in latency as I did notice a slight delay but nothing crazy.

So far no issues for me after the upgrade, and I have found the range and penetration better with the G3 and 03. However, I fly over water a LOT, and this news has me a little less sure of doing so until DJI can remedy the issue.
Having O3+G3 combo. One of my O3 has noticeably low transmission rate. It drops to 30 ish Mbps at very short distance. Installing the O3 on a fix wing, far from interference and very good cooling.
Ahhhhh dang…… I just updated 10 O3 unit and now I need to undo it……😂
Just did a build with 03 and paired them with my goggles 3 and had two black outs. I was only a couple hundred meters away and flying low so no damage to the quad. I did previously watch this video so I was aware this might happen. Please fix this issue soon DJI I really want to get back in the air and have full confidence like I do flying my avata 2!
Did you upgrade the firmware on the O3 before binding ?
If so Can you try re flashing the firmware on the O3 and the goggles via assistant 2 ans try it again
@@MadRCyes I updated it right after activating the 03 unit. And both goggles 3 and rc3 ore on the latest firmware. I will try to reflash everything again via dji assist 2 (drone consumer)

I've update, but after my friend share the signal lost on group i and just.. down grade fw, not worth it.
Anyone see o3 units are $179 now. But sold out almost everywhere.
First flight with my new drone with O3 and googles 3. After about one minute flight suddenly screen freeze. Had to let my drone drop to the ground.
This happened to me on a place I use to fly and know very well using with this combo. G3 with O3 unit, lost signal LOS around 400 meters away went to GPS rescue, waited like a minute and never recover signal back. Fearing a flyaway had to disarm drone and crashed on a trees. GoPro footage revealed that was the best decision. That was freaking weird! Now I am realizing wans't me... can I complain do DJI?

I haven't had any issues with goggles 3 and o3, I swear signal is better than the v2 goggles
Same issue with O3 Air Unit and DJI Integra , in particular you fligh near to the ground, like in the Video shows. I only had it several times only while flying near to the ground. And this was before i updated the firmeware.
Also happened to me while flying low to the ground but with LOS
So which firmware version should I stick to?
Some people say that they will roll back the firmware,but it is known with Dji that this is not possibleEven if you manage to do so,some problems will remain.Dji will have to bring a new firmware that solves possible issues
This totally happened on my goggles 3 with 03 air unit. Lost an awesome sub 250 ripper drone because of this. I’ll try the ham file hack I guess while flying over grass
I updated to use goggles 3 while I waited for a replacement antenna for my goggles 2. I've been flying again on goggles 2 and I've had no issues. Maybe about 120 minutes flight only on the updated o3 units with goggles 2. I'll probably downgrade now to be safe.
I had this happen once, I was flying along level and slow about 5 feet away from myself and then the goggles went fully black; I crashed, almost into a swimming pool.

Avata 2 and goggles 3 was my first digital setup after starting off on a few small analog quads. I went into failsafe on my first day with it.
I don't think it was defective, But I was not accustomed to the abrupt dropout. There's no way I'm trusting my first digital BNF or build to the DJI controller though.
I have had it in the last 3 days multiple times with my goggles 2 literally drops out of the sky...I had already updated...😞It has happened with a geprc mark 5, geprc cinelog 35 v2, and last night with a flywoo flylens 75...I checked my OSD and it was all solid...strong battery, not overheated, just random...I have an Avata 2 and zero issues...I use the goggles 3 and controller 3 with current firmware with the avata 2

I was flying with a new battery (Self-built Li-ion with the new evecells, 80A peak discharge) and suddenly I lost feed, crashed and it destroyed my drone and battery..
Thought I lost the feed because the battery must have fell off since I was in a powerloop, but could be this actually...
I confirm the issue with googles 3 but no issue using the latest firmware on o3 with googles 2
The signal on my Avata 2 has problems now too. Like I've had it hovering near me videoing and the signal go from 4 bars to flashy orange warning back to 4 bars with no change in altitude, distance, or environment. I won't fly it farther than like 500 meters now and activated the option to drop it from the sky if it loses video. Ironically, the rc signal never even dips... Motion controller3 nor rc3

I had very close range blackouts, then I installed the ham file and manual selected ch 1@ 40hz and i have not had one blackout since. Not sure if that fixed it or i have just been lucky since then.
Are you in the EU? I originally flew my goggles 3 with the Avata 2 in the US and was under the assumption that FCC full power mode was already enabled. Now I'm flying with a iflight nazgul Evoque 5" and I have had a number of very close rangle black outs as well. now I just wait a out 5 seconds after arming tot ale off and it has not been an issue so far as it's normally right after arming.

Got this issue about 3 times with Goggles 3 + O3. In each case I could not recover the image until disarm.
Hey, thanks for the video! I noticed you have a Nazgul with the exact same setup as mine (Albatross VTX antennas and ELRS). What’s the maximum range you've achieved with it? I recently switched to ELRS over the DJI RC link, but I’m worried it might be giving me less range based on the RSSI and LQ readings. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid! :D

I can confirm I just lost my drone on Saturday. My 5 inch went into the Mississippi river. I was flying DJI goggles too and the 03 air unit with the latest firmware. All of a sudden it went black and it went into the water. I made a claim with DJIthrough email on Sunday and I’m asking for $1450 back

I lost signal with Google 3 and an air unit o3. And it happens above a river and I lost my (all new) mobula 8 and an air unit o3, 400 Dollar in the river, thanks DJI!
I'm so impatient to fly a 5 inch (I began with the avata 2) and I wanted to wait for the air unit o4 but if it will arrive in February it's very too long for me. I want to fly a real drone!!
I have Avata 2 & Goggles 3 and had a freeze of the video but the on screen info was still updating/changing. I have a video of it on my channel.
I almost lost my Pavo20 for this issue, I used the googles 3 in combination to O3 air unit. Lost video randomly, as a result my Pavo20 is broken and almost couldn't find it. What can I do to avoid this issue for my next fly?

no issues here.. nearly use the google v2 every day. work properly.
I have been experiencing random video freezes at 50Mbps for ~1 second, when using this combination.
Had the signal drop out a second time now, so I have lost signal 2 times in the last 30 flights. The drone was never more than 100 meters from me when it lost signal both times. I reflashed both the G3 after the first quad and of course flashed my new O3 quad since I lost the first one.
Hopefully DJI is aware of this issue and doing something about it. Sucks not being able to trust my system right now.

Attention critical bug! if you use goggles 3 in combination with air unit 03 updated to V.01.03.0000 and goggles 3 updated to V.01.00.03.00 it may happen that the image of the goggles freezes... and it doesn't happen randomly... but completely randomly …so if you fly with this combination I advise you to fit a GPS or fly in safe places until DJI has solved the problem… If you fly with goggles 2 and air unit 03 updated to the penultimate version I have not encountered any problems.

I destroyed a Mobula8 with O3 due to this bug 😢 frozen video 3 meters away and it just crashed.
I had it happen to my goggles 3 randomly several times - the video feed blacks out and comes back after 2-3 seconds while I am flying. Had happened to me during startup within 30-40 secs. Its strange I switched back to manual transmission and made sure the antennas on the O3 unit was properly and it will still happen at random but not as frequently. I have my goggles 3 on without the FCC hack. I read on the dji forum a did the fcc ham file on the goggles 3 and it did not happen there after. Going to put the goggles 3 on the FCC mode. It is scary
This also happened to me last night. I'm in a CE country and using a ham file for FCC hack. Combination of Goggles 3, RC 3, and O3, quad distance was around 100 meters, video bandwidth was around 30 Mbps and suddenly the goggles screen froze and blacked out. I immediately pressed the GPS rescue button and luckily the quad returned until landing on the roof of my house. The goggles recording stopped at the moment the screen blacked out, but the O3 recording continued until the quad landed.
damn, your case is 99% exactly like mine!!(including landing on rooftop) but my o3 stopped recording after blackout.

Happend to my Avata 2 last week over water.
It happens almost every other flight with g3/o3. Video goes black, disarm and rearm and it works fine
@MTB_FPV if you are running with out the ham file and only with 1 ch @ 40hz try install the ham so you get 3 ch @40hz and lock Into 1 of the 3 ch and see if problems go away. This is what I did and so far it seemed to work.
This occured to me too, but it rebootet itself so i was able to fly back.
Happened to me. Lost signal & crashed. Broke frame & 2 propellers on my babyhawk o3. First time I’ve ever seen this, never had this issue with the Goggles 2. Brand new Googles 3, updated it & o3 air units to latest firmware with no issues, on a freshly installed Windows. First thing I thought was it must have been interference from WIFI appliances since I was flying close to a building on a spot I’ve never done before. Other thoughts just when I crashed, a vehicle parked in my line of sight. Nothing odd. Battery still had some good charge. One thing thought, when I was repairing the device and swapping out frame, I did notice the Air unit had it’s modular cable unplugged. Was it a result of the crash? I will never know. No HAM hack. Also using aftermarket rabbit antennas supplied by the naked O3 kit, and not the original one which could have resulted in the issue. Tips to others, mentally prepare yourself to switch to “ANGLE” mode and blindly lowering to the ground to avoid destroying your drone.

Can anyone help me. I have 1 Extreme Pro microSD Card. The sd card can be seen on the Avata 2 but not seen when i insert it to the Goggles 3.
Does it not work if it is just inserted in the Goggles 3. Do I need 2 sd cards at the same time?
