It's a tough gig for the new singer As a fan since 92 it's not easy to get Scott's voice out of my head. Jeff sang it beautifully. I think Sour Girl was STP's last great song with Scott. If there's more I need to find them. Salute to STP for keeping the show going.
I had a gf that loved this song, so I bought tickets to see STP on the Family Values tour in Dallas. They didn't play this song, so she broke up with me on the way home.
Odd I recall Jeff saying in an interview that he could never preform sour girl because of what the song meant to Scott....jeff's not a bad singer but I just don't feel comfortable listening to STP without Scott Weiland
He's not posing. He just took over the role since well... Layne died. The rest of the band wants to keep making music. So they hired him to just.... well.... sing.
Just seen STP again the other day in NJ at the arts center. In all the years I've seen them I've never seen them on fire like they were the other night! Jeff is doing a fantastic job up there!

This guy kind of nails it. I have both “Stone Temple Pilots” eponymous CDs, and the vocals are indistinguishable
