I’m technically here because of the intro, but not this one. One of my favorite bands Desolate made a song with the intro being a tribute to this one and saw a bunch of comments about that. So yee
When I was 16 (I'm 33 now), I went to Toronto all by myself to see Alexisonfire and Moneen play together and when I got there it was sold out. I remember seeing the band outside the side doors and told them my story and they got me on the guest list. You guys made 16 yo me the happiest boy ever.
Bro, I did the exact same thing except not by myself. I'm originally from Michigan and me and 2 friends crossed the border into Ontario when we were about 16 (I'm 33) to see Alexisonfire and Moneen who were 2 of my absolute favorite bands back then. It was such a great experience. Back when you didn't need a passport to hop into Canada.
I played this song as part of a midterm in high school. We had this new type of music class where it wasn't like traditional big band trumpets and trombones and shit, but guitar, bass and drums. You picked two songs to learn which would be your midterm and final exam. Every person got to pick two then pick the people to be in the band to perform it. The whole semester was just learning individual parts and then practicing with the band for the performance. It was so awesome. I was (and still am) in love with Alexis at the time I picked this song even though it was extremely ambitious for the vocal parts lol. Like who the hell can scream like George as a 16-17 year old? We had a chick sing Dallas' part which was pretty solid, but George's part kind of bombed. No worries. It was a 7pm show in the high school cafeteria. Like 150 people showed up for this thing because it's literally a live concert of modern music and there we were. Playing this song in front of our peers pouring our hearts into it. Wasn't even a grade at that point, it was an opportunity to play music in front of people. Was such a blast. I'll never forget that.
I remember I was so obsessed with this song and George’s vocals that I even got a yellow tshirt like his and I’d cover this song in the studio with friends. Fantastic times.
I remember playing this cd on my old pc running windows XP and you had the option to watch these music videos. That shit blew my mind at the time! I was like whoa dude the future and stuff.
Loved going to hang out at Blockbuster on Lake street in St. Catharines to see my good buddy Chris Steele. Man the good old days!!! Growing up with them was such an honour to see the progression over the years!!!
good old day. now im 33 years old with 3 kids and this song is still on my trck list even my wife hate it .. not just my wife, even my neighbour coz i plyed it so fkg loud 😂😂😂😂
sometimes people look back at a moment in time, the music, fashion, and we are embarrassed by ourselves. Here, We looked so cool, i am so proud to have been around then.
I listen to all kinds of different music. And I wouldn’t even consider Alexisonfires sound as one I listen to often these days. But credit where credit is due, seeing this at 11 or 12 years old led me on a path to discovering all sorts of artists, genres etc. game changer. Had never seen anything quite like it on TV at the time
Still my fav album, when I discovered emo/hardcore thing 11 years ago after the whole emo buzz faded away, Alexisonfire were definitely my fav band in the genre
I remember watching this music video's premier on Much Music 20 years ago and thinking "i don't know who that band is, but they're deadly" last night i got to see them play this song in concert and it was just as deadly as ever.
I remember discovering this from the Much Music countdown thinking "whoa... why is Much Music playing screamo?" Still my all time favorite alexisonfire song
lol I never like music with screaming in it before Alexisonfire. I liked Deftones that screamed but it was different. I thought why do I like this song so much they ended up being one of my fav bands.
@@slavak592 yooo fellow countryman :) personally for me I was like 6 years late to this song, still glad I discovered it when I was that young and carefree
it's called artistic anger. Anger - nothing you've never heard of. Something you fear. Something these guys are able to put into artistic beautiful music.
I saw them live 8 times, but when this album first dropped I saw them at the opera house in Toronto. During the Cancer Bats set, I stepped out for a smoke and ended up chatting with Wade for about 7 minutes. Real cool guy. Great personality. Down to earth. One of the most influential bands in my life and I'm 38. OG fan.
im 39..and damnit, the Era you describe was one of my favorites. Poison the well, unearth, glassjaw, Killswitch engage. The Reverb....ahhh. The past was such a great place.
I remember 13 year old me finding Alexisonfire on station x on telethon at night with pulmonary archery and water wings.. never knew it would lead to me 28 year old me still loving this band to no bitter end.
remember when this came out, was sitting at home after high school watching much music .. turned the tv to max volume and rocked the fuck out.. will always be my favourite band

That's so cool.
I saw them with Glassjaw last June. Easily the best show I've been to
I went to school with the guys from Moneen, I think they played a show on the school roof or recorded a video there or something...
Bro, I did the exact same thing except not by myself. Forreal...
I'd give anything for one day
Alexisonfire is in their own Genre. No one does it like them.
This is one of those bands that will never be replicated, this type of sound is very specific to a time and a place
Reminds me of From Autumn to Ashes and other bands from that era that were somewhere in the neighborhood of post-hardcore and metalcore
@@mediumvillainAgree. Saw them play with FATA and boysnightout sometime in...maybe 2004? 2005?
Such an underrated band.
Damn the introduction to this song still gives me chills

From muchmusic rock top 5 to a multimillion dollar band. They’ve come such a long way and they deserve every single ounce of the fame they have.

I saw em live at stampede and I've got to say I've never been to a concert that good ever before

This is the band that got me into screaming. I remember hating it at first... and then being obsessed and buying the CD.
Same. I have to thank a soccer tournament in Canada and staying up late watching much music. Changed my life really.
same here, i used to hate music with screaming but since hearing alexisonfire's album crisis i've been playing heavy music with screaming ever since

I'm sorry but this is the most legendary thing ever.
Their crazy energy in the video really hooked me as a kid!
Randomly coming across this music video while watching "The Wedge" on Much Music at 11PM is what made fall in love with Alexisonfire
You know a song is going to be legendary when the first words out of the singer's mouth are:
LETS GO
Absolute Master Piece 👏.... What a time in life please take me back 😆😎
the stage presence is a thing of art and grace.
Best road rage song ever.
