If it weren't for black people there wouldn't be a rock genre. 🤷 "Rock 'n' roll was influenced by a Deep South black music genre called the blues. 'It [rock 'n' roll] started out as rhythm and blues,' Little Richard told Time in 2001. 'There wasn't nobody playing it at the time but black people - myself, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry. White kids started paying more attention to this music, white girls were going over to this music, they needed somebody to come in there - like Elvis.'"

When I'm lying in your bed
Play the motions through my head
You know that I'm thinking, I'm thinking
And I have reasons to believe
That I'm not the only one you spend this time with
    But I'll stay
    You say,
    You're weak,
    You won't let me down,
    You won't let me down
    You lied,
    Through your teeth,
    You smiled in your sleep,
    You smile in your sleep
    When we met
You said that we were the same
    You know that we're different,
    We're different
And all those time you promised me that
Everything would work out in the end
    You were gravely mistaken
    You say,
    You're weak
    You won't let me down,
    You won't let me down
    You lied,
    Through your teeth
    You smiled in your sleep,
    You smile in your sleep
    You lied
    You lied
    You lied
    You lied
    You lied,
    Through your teeth
    You won't let me down
    You lied,
    I deserve better then this
    I dream of steel
    Maroon and warm
    Your end (Your end)
    Your end (Your end)
    You gasp for air
    I'll see this through
    I'll see through you
    You're pale (You're pale)
    You're pale (You're pale)
    You're pale
    Blue eyes
When your lying in your bed,
    Your eulogy's been read,
    You know that it's fitting
    You lied
    You say
    Your weak

    You lied

I was listening to my chemical romance, Hawthorne heights, Green Day, good charlotte, escape the fate, motionless in white, Linkin park etc all those emo/ alternative bands back when I was a teen. and I never heard of or listened to Silverstein. It’s until now 2017 and now I’m 28. That I found out about this band through Spotify and now I’m in Love this with song and most of their songs. I could’ve been rocking out to this song at 16 but I’m doing it at 28. 😂😂😂 I still love my this type of music even though I’m getting old.

This song hurts now. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of this song or band, but during the quarantine my best friend wanted me to make a playlist for her of songs she thought she would like. I used to listen to this when I was younger and her music taste would aline with this genre/sound.
So I included it. She ended up playing it on repeat and fell in love. She even thanked me for showing her.
I remember waking up half asleep and seeing her at her desk drawing and listening to this song quietly to not disturb me, but it was on repeat.
She took her life a week after my birthday in 2020. I miss her so fucking much. This song just hits so differently now. I can’t believe it’s almost going to be a year I just really want her back
