This song saved me when I was 15 years old. It has saved me again at the age of 31. Discovering the Waterfront will always hold a special place in my heart.
rightfully so .... its something i fight every day .. but at some point my happiness matters..... such a great band .. they really are .. and their underrated forsure.. its sad
I hope you are doing okay these days. Please be safe and know that people care about you, even if it may not feel like it at times. If you are feeling troubled, maybe professional help is the answer, or talking to a trusted friend about what you are going through. Wish you the best.

I would listen and cry to this song thinking of my boyfriend after we broke up at the age of 15. I didn’t want our relationship to end but it became so toxic. We both moved on for many years and I always missed him, would always listen to this song... Somehow we found our way back to each other. He told me he always listened to this song too, so crazy. We will be getting married this next year, 14 years from when our love began! True love will always find a way ❤️
How old are y’all now like 30? That was a sweet story. I hope you guys are good. I miss my ex I feel bad for cheating on her but I still love her deep down. I’m 26 but I used to like music like this in high school
K W we are 28 so almost 30 lol! We are amazing thanks for asking!. I truly feel everything happens for a reason and I feel that will happen for you too 🖤

I wish I hadn’t screwed her over but everything just got so complicated. Life is so hard these days I’m sick and have to get a 2nd surgery my sinuses are messed up they won’t get better smh
Shane Told's epic efforts in Discovering the Waterfront among many other albums with Silverstein, is the fundamental reason I returned home regrettably so from a vacation due to unexpected unfortunate events at home, forcing me to drive 2278 miles in 48hrs. I got home alive, listened to Shane Told's lyrics at full volume during the majority of the drive and slept in my own bed. i sure as hell hope more people going through painful situations in their life discover the waterfront and give Silverstein a serious chance.
It's still awesome music imo. Shanes not the greatest singing talent and some of the lyrics of their songs really aren't that sophisticated. But the construction of their songs really are amazing, to most part. Still know almost all the lyrics of each of their songs by heart
Little choked up right now, can't finish the song because the memories are flooding back from 11-12 years ago. Strong memories! Been really feeling the nostalgia lately, really missing the days that this kind of music was about, was a really important part of my life that I can't help feel that I've just totally lost. Fuck time.
They aren't lost, they're in your memories and exist as part of your story. But you'll never get back to childhood again, no. Maturity is your real adventure now
I hear you. But I’ve learned to take this music with me at the new points in my life. It will always be a part of my life. And I will play it for my children one day and hope it means as much to them as it did me.
this album was the absolute best from Silverstein. This along with Brand New, TBS, the used, and Senses fail were so essential throughout my High School years. lol
I'm now 36, still listen to this song. A lot of memories behind this track. Listening to this songs will remind you your old you! Age is just a numbers. \m/
I will promise myself I won't care distracting myself from your stare and I've seen this mistake once before with your games I will never fall for I've hung up my guns.... I won't kill again! [Chorus] I won't forget you! (I won't forget you) I'm not going to let you win! but I'm tired of lying! tired of fighting you! and it's not going to change you ask for my heart you know I'm down but not the way you lie to me, you tear it all apart and beg for me to say I sail off to sea, I'm not coming back [Chorus] count me down make that sound when you know it makes no sense count me down until you mess around when I know you can't ever change why am I trembling throw it overboard when I'm ready to we'll progress count me down make that sound break the silence! pretend its not forever I'll pull myself together I'll save it, I'll forget her, I'll breathe.... and I'll say she never hurt me and look at it as learning and laugh about the good and the bad because I will live forever we don't belong together I know I'll be the better. one day I will make it through. [Chorus 2 X's till fade]
The best poetic verse I heard in my life: "Pretend it's not for never I'll pull myself together I'll say that I'll forget her I'll breathe And I'll say she never hurt me And look at it as learning And laugh about the good and the bad Because I won't live forever We don't belong together I know I'll be all better One day when I can make it through."
holy fuck i needed to see this in writing... gave me goosebumps, crazy how much music you've heard before hits you so hard its like listening to it for the first time
"When I'm trembling, Thrown overboard And I'm ready to relive the past Counting down Make that sound Break the silence Pretend it's not forever, I'll pull myself together I'll say that I'll forget her, I'll breathe. And I'll say she never hurt me, And look at it as learning, And laugh about the good and the bad. Because I won't live forever We don't belong together, I know I'll feel better, One day when I can make it through."
There is a tattoo of "Counting down, make that sound, break the silence" on my body. Suicidal thought is real and for the last 20 years Silverstein kept me alive even in institutions. Their lyrics reach the divide and I've been with them for over 20 years. They cut to the core and say what I want to. So from 20-something me to 30/40-something me? "Own your mental illness and break the family cycle. That tattoo will remind you forever - I'm not gonna let you win."
this will always be my favorite song. I had just moved to barstow,Ca from hanford. my first day at my new school i made a friend and she asked me have I ever heard of Silverstein, I said no, so she pulled out her cd player and we listened to Discovering the water front album. man that was so long. something how time flies, we were 13-14 years old then and now Im 25.
2 years after my parents have divorced and my life was dramatically changing, i started getting into this music. All started with Niki FM and buying the HH CD. That CD came with the Victory Records promo CD whwre i heard Silverstein. I'm so happy to have discovered them
This song is deep.... it talks about how someone is ready to move on after being left my one they truly loved... their heart was broken yet they prove they can move on with the broken heart left behind. Great song...
Man, i forgot how much Silverstein influenced the way I felt back in the day. Dammit, Amanda, I still love you. O, and this is one of the wittiest videos I've seen in ages.
Hair to the side walking through the hallways in highschool, playing hacky sack on passing period. In a relationship with a girl that u may still love to this day. The music bring u right back to a time in space where your true happiness n sad times as a teen felt
I can't believe how much time has passed, used to listen to this so much as a teen. I'm 30 now and I haven't heard this song in so long but feels like yesterday when I used to listen to it daily. Crazy how these kind of lyrics can still be relatable even later in life.

I can still remember watching this video on Fuse. Good ol days. Great band who has gotten better over time and never sold out
unbelivable tune. only discovered em 6 months ago, listened every day since
It's been 4 yrs..still cant forget her every time i listen to this song
This band is underrated in its genre
I'm over 42 , I love this band, I love this song and I can't wait to see them in Vegas this October. 2022
