I would listen and cry to this song thinking of my boyfriend after we broke up at the age of 15. I didn’t want our relationship to end but it became so toxic. We both moved on for many years and I always missed him, would always listen to this song...
Somehow we found our way back to each other. He told me he always listened to this song too, so crazy. We will be getting married this next year, 14 years from when our love began! True love will always find a way ❤️

Shane Told's epic efforts in Discovering the Waterfront among many other albums with Silverstein, is the fundamental reason I returned home regrettably so from a vacation due to unexpected unfortunate events at home, forcing me to drive 2278 miles in 48hrs. I got home alive, listened to Shane Told's lyrics at full volume during the majority of the drive and slept in my own bed. i sure as hell hope more people going through painful situations in their life discover the waterfront and give Silverstein a serious chance.

    I will promise myself I won't care
    distracting myself from your stare
and I've seen this mistake once before
with your games I will never fall for
    I've hung up my guns....
    I won't kill again!
    [Chorus]
    I won't forget you! (I won't forget you)
I'm not going to let you win!
    but I'm tired of lying!
    tired of fighting you!
and it's not going to change
    you ask for my heart
    you know I'm down
but not the way you lie to me, you tear it all apart and beg for me to say
I sail off to sea, I'm not coming back
    [Chorus]
    count me down
    make that sound
when you know it makes no sense
    count me down
    until you mess around
when I know you can't ever change
    why am I trembling
    throw it overboard
when I'm ready to we'll progress
    count me down
    make that sound
    break the silence!
    pretend its not forever
    I'll pull myself together
I'll save it, I'll forget her, I'll breathe....
and I'll say she never hurt me
and look at it as learning
and laugh about the good and the bad
    because I will live forever
    we don't belong together
I know I'll be the better.
one day I will make it through.
    [Chorus 2 X's till fade]

    There is a tattoo of
"Counting down, make that sound, break the silence" on my body.
Suicidal thought is real and for the last 20 years Silverstein kept me alive even in institutions. Their lyrics reach the divide and I've been with them for over 20 years. They cut to the core and say what I want to. So from 20-something me to 30/40-something me? "Own your mental illness and break the family cycle. That tattoo will remind you forever - I'm not gonna let you win."

The bridge of this song is probably my favourite few bars of music ever. You feel sad and empowered at the same time and the rise of volume makes you feel like a swell of raw feeling.

Been a fan since 2003 even went to a concert with bronchitis. Fort Lauderdale with the Devil Wears Prada. It was my very first silverstein concert and got to exited I moshed the set thru. At revolution shane was wearing a celtics jersey and finished the night with "bleeds no more". You guys have gotten me thru really bad times even thru thoughts of suicide. Thanks guys for all you do. #Epic #GodBless

Found this in 2021, I've always been into metal core and punk rock since 2013. This song gives nostalgia. This helps with what's going on in life currently.

I was around 8-10 when i first heard discovering the waterfront. I was such a knucklehead that I was constantly in trouble both in school and at home. Thinking the world was out for me.. the sad tone of most songs on this album resonated well. Years later after understanding the lyrics it means so much more.
Being 27 now i appreciate bands like Silverstein, scary kids scaring kids, story of the year, linkin park, and seether that helped us along into adulthood. And ill continue to listen and appreciate till the day I die.

Was listening to Kaleo, Phoenix, London Grammar and Pale Waves on my playlist and thought of Silverstein for some reason. Went straight to Smile in Your Sleep and then this. Will always be one of my favorites. :D

Silverstein has always kept to their roots, yet change it up every album. They're one of the most talented bands in the scene. That's fact.

Pretend it's not forever,I'll pull myself together
I'll say that I'll forget her,I'll breathe. And I'll say she never hurt me,
And look at it as learning,And laugh about the good and the bad.
