I wasn't even in my teens during the early and mid 2000's, but despite having very fond childhood memories from that era I still feel like I've missed something. I believe that would be growing up as a teenager from 2001 to 2009, the way people interacted, the lack of distractions, (smartphones) and the music scenes of that time made It seem like a very different reality. My teenage years weren't nearly as fun as people had It back then. It was a dull experience that sadly reflects the duller times we're living in. But like I said great childhood, I guess everything comes with a price.

I remember going to see them at a festival in Ireland in 2007 and it was in a tiny tent, they played at like 2pm during the day and there were maybe only 10 people in the tent watching them and they still gave the gig everything they had.
The drummer got up on the speakers, fell off them and ripped his shorts on the way down, and continued playing with his bum cheeks hanging out.

dad rock is getting harder with every passing year
Please explain!
@@Mikejones17369 Dad rock is whatever your dad plays for music. Dads tend to play music they grew up with in their teenage years. For many millenials, this type of music (Emo, Metalcore, Post-Hardcore) is now the dad rock because they are older but still listen to this type of music.
As opposed to older generations that listened to The Beatles, Elvis, then the 80s Hair Metal, then the 90s which had Grunge, and then we got to Nu-Rock and we are now Dad-Rocking to these jams.

@@darcytucker416 who the fuck doesnt miss being young dumbass
@@darcytucker416can’t answer for OP but for me I think it’s more where I was at in my life at that time more than how the scene itself was. The scene itself was awesome and magical for sure, but I was 17 and had just joined the Marines. Would turn 18 in boot camp so for me when I listen to this music it just brings me back to that time in my life where I’m an adult in the eyes of the law but nowhere near one in my own head. That special place where childhood innocence and teenage dreams meshed with becoming an adult and growing up is where this music takes me. A lot of life experiences hadn’t happened yet, but back then I thought I’d experienced all that life had to give. Hopefully that makes sense. Have a great day.
It was the best of everything.
