You imagine that we all sin everyday or that the Bible teaches that idea. There are two sides of a person's mind: the spirit and flesh. The flesh never submits to Gd but the spirit naturally is submitted to Gd. If we are always filled with the mind of the Spirit then there's no room for the seeds of unrighteousness to grow. EVERY creature produced is like it's parents. If Gd is your father then you'd be Godly.

@@hikerbill9248 But I already pointed out that there are many many MANY verses explaining how we can and ought to cease all sin. The scripture teaches that we are not saved through mere forgiveness but rather through a supernatural union into the one man Chr st and his death and resurrection. If we are resurrected in him then our new self has never sinned and does not sin because it's born of Gd.

    • @CharlesLeroy-mp8lk

@@hikerbill9248 The NT specifically listed the ten commandments as unnecessary for those that are born again. The scripture says that the law is for sinners but the naturally righteous don't need an outward law of morals because the living law(mind of Chr st) is written on their hearts and they are born in Gd's image and therefore are godly by nature. The old nature is like dead seeds and as long as we remain filled with the Spirit then those seeds have no room to grow.

not disagreeing, but I have a problem with this doctrine. What if you're a backslider? What if, years after your salvation and born again experience, you fall away and distance yourself from, and even grow to detest God? I don't buy the "you were never saved to begin with" referred to in 1 John 2:19 because I don't think that's always the case. The devil can deceive even the best of us. ["No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light" 2 Cor 11:14]
So what then? Here's my thought:
God is loving. He gives us free will. We can choose to accept Him or not. If we don't, He will not force us into His company. So if a former believer rejects God, an all-loving God would not force that person into His presence. ["No one can serve two masters, either you will hate one and love the other, or you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matt 6:24]
This is why the once saved always saved doctrine is so conflicting.
Also, sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2), so if you diliberately live in sin, how does this affect your standing with God?
I dunno. I'm still fairly new to my faith (only converted back in the fall) so I'm still trying to figure this all out. I have been studying Scripture as thoroughly as I can to understand this. There are so many interpretations it's hard to tell which is right.

But where I'm still confused is if you're saved, what happens if you later reject God and deny Him for the rest of your life? Can that happen? (My understanding of apostates is they were never saved to begin with, because once you receive the benefits of Holy Spirit, you dont want to lose it, but i could be wrong) As I said, God will not force you to be in His company in heaven if you don't want it.

      Something something roaring lion
The Nicolaitans taught osas and the Lord hated their doctrine. Rev 2:15
"Nicolaitans were one of the heretical sects that plagued the churches at Ephesus and at Pergamum, according to Revelation 2:6,15. Irenaeus identifies them as followers of Nicolas, one of the seven chosen in Acts 6, and as men who "lead lives of unrestrained indulgence". He also relates them to Gnosticism: "John, the disciple of the Lord, preaches this faith (the deity of Christ), and seeks, by the proclamation of the Gospel, to remove that error which by Cerinthus had been disseminated among men, and a long time previously by those termed Nicolaitans, who are an offset of that 'knowledge' falsely so called, that he might confound them, and persuade them that there is but one God, who made all things by His Word". There is also historical evidence of a Gnostic sect called Nitolaitans a century or so later.
The doctrine of the Nicolaitans appears to have been a form of antinomianism, which makes the fatal mistake that man can freely partake in sin because the Law of God is no longer binding. It held the truth on the gratuitous reckoning of righteousness; but supposed that a mere intellectual "belief" in this truth had a saving power.
Nicolaitans of the 2nd century seem to have continued and extended the views of the 1st century adherents, holding to the freedom of the flesh and sin, and teaching that the deeds of the flesh had no effect upon the health of the soul and consequently no relation to salvation."

Nowhere does the bible teach that we in our sinful un-regenerated state accept anything from God.
The bible teaches that we are slaves to sin, no one seeks after God and we cannot know spiritual things.
So when the scripture says that we are by nature children of wrath, spiritually dead, cannot know the things of the spirit, are not subject to the law of GOD, our carnal minds are at enmity with GOD, slaves to sin, we cannot change our nature, separated from GOD, cannot please GOD, do not understand, and do not seek after God, that every intent of the thoughts of our heart is only evil continually, proud and God is in none of our thoughts, there is no one who calls on God, Who stirs himself up to take hold of God, etc …

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

I dont know anyone who has turned away from all their sins. Not even apostle Paul or Peter when He started treating gentile believers differently when Jewish believers arrived. Sin does have consecuences and our Abba will chastice and scurge every son which He recieves, but we are eternally secure in Christ if we believed the Gospel. Mans turning from sin, obedience and love towards God does not earn you heaven or keep you saved, is what Christ did on the Cross... Him paying for all of our sins... Rising fromt the dead on the third day, believing in Him in the Gospel is what gives us eternal life and Jesus Christ keeps us saved.
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

      I know. OSAS still false.

One of the very very overlooked pieces of scripture that I’ve recently had my eyes opened to was when Jesus says “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Ok sure, he’s all those things. But behind just saying those things there’s meaning. In the tabernacle days, the structure of it had 3 doors or entrances to get to the most highs dwelling place where it was said that God himself stood. Those entrances all had a name, one called the way, another called the truth and lastly the life. So what does it mean when Jesus says he is all this? If you don’t go through those entrances, you can’t get to Gods dwelling place, and you won’t experience him and his presence. So in Jesus claiming to be those entrances he’s literally saying he is the ONLY way to get to the father. You can try all you want to sneak your way in, make a new way, rely on yourself but unless you follow the path, go through those entrances you won’t get to God. And Jesus is the entrances, the way and the truth and the life.

Onorato, Bear in mind that not all deniers of eternal security believe that salvation is forfeited by way of sinning or not doing good works. The potential for believing that way is there and God only knows how many have fallen into that ditch of believing that way. Not all eternal security deniers give the same answer to the question of how salvation is forfeit and some of us recognize as true that when you stand before God at the judgement you will not be able to pat yourself on the back and give yourself any credit for meriting your getting saved or staying saved. Some of us see the way that you live your life as flowing from your faith or lack of faith and as something that testifies as to whether your faith is genuine or not. Just as good works and avoidance of sin did not contribute to you getting saved it also does not contribute to you staying saved. If your salvation can be forfeited then the forfeiture has everything to do with your faith and not your performance which naturally flows from your faith or lack of faith. On the eternal security side there is the equally real potential for people to fall into the ditch of believing they have a license to sin. By no means does your willingness to believe in eternal security mean that you therefore think that you have a license to sin. Often both sides do a poor job of rightly understanding what the other side truly believes and can be so quick to draw conclusions that may be accurate for some but not for all. Something that is very important to the issue of eternal security is the status of your future sins that have not yet been committed. If you will notice it is quite common for those who believe in eternal security to believe that their future sins have already been pardoned even though they have not yet been committed. They are also quite likely to hold to the atonement theory known as penal substitution and in doing so recognize Jesus’ death on the cross as a debt of sin substitute payment instead of a debt of sin payment substitute that God accepted instead of payment that would serve as the grounds on which debt of sin forgiveness would be extended unto men. I have a few questions for you. Do you maintain that your future sins are already pardoned? If all of your future sins have already been pardoned then is there any possibility that you might successfully avoid committing even so much as just one of those future already pardoned sins? Is there any possibility that God could freely choose to intervene and prevent you from committing even so much as just one of those already pardoned future sins? Seems to me that this would mean that they are all a foregone conclusion in God’s mind and you are fated to commit them all. Next, if Jesus paid in full your sin debt then wouldn’t that also mean that all of your sins were a foregone conclusion in God’s mind way back then nearly 2000 years ago and so you were fated to commit every one of those sins of yours that He paid off nearly 2000 years ago? How were the sins of mankind placed upon Jesus when He bore them on the cross? Let us consider the single sin of telling a lie. Is it that each and every lie that you have ever told and ever will tell was each individually imputed from you as an individual backwards in time to Jesus when He went to the cross? Or might it be that the sin ( singular ) of telling a lie was imputed from mankind in general to Jesus and because the sin of telling a lie was placed upon Jesus all lies are forgivable? Of course imputed righteousness is still direct to you as an individual seeing you are counted as righteous when you have faith in Jesus. If Jesus paid off your sin debt when He went to the cross then when did you really get saved? Did you get saved when He paid off your debt or did you get saved when you trusted in Jesus? If He saved you when He paid off your debt then did He pay off everyone else’s debt and therefore save everyone else? Thank you for taking the time to read the thoughts of this open theist.

Has anyone else noticed how there’s a strange connection between deliverance ministries and LOST? Look at all of the most prominent deliverance pastors: Alexander Pagani, Isaiah Saldivar, Vlad Savchuk, Richard Lorenzo Jr, Chris Lasala, etc. Apart from being deliverance pastors, they all share one common trait: they all deny eternal security. I’ve always found it very peculiar how these deliverance pastors have such strange hatred to OSAS.

On the basis of my best efforts, I will not see God. I can do no more than the criminal on the cross to keep myself out of hell. There’s no one who can keep me out of hell, except for the one who lived a sinless life, was mocked, scourged, and crucified. On the cross, He took my hell when He took the wrath of God the Father against my sin.

There will always be ppl who believe salvation is by baptism, works, or being prayed out of purgatory. I'm thankful it's by God's grace through the blood of Christ. We do works after we're saved because it shows agape love which pleases the Lord and is commanded by Him, not in order to keep salvation. He's a faithful and trustworthy God that keeps us.

I really want to ask these people what they define as “saved” because the way I see it saved means
Jesus paid your sin debt in full, separated your body of sins and placed them on the cross, then gives you eternal Life, and sealed you until the day God redeems us/calls us home to be with him.
If all this is true then how can one lose any of this?

When saw we Thee a stranger and took Thee in, or naked and clothed Thee?Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee?’
And the King shall answer and say unto them, ‘Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.’
“Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
    For (you did not just believe) (no) For I hungered, and ye gave Me no meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave Me no drink;

Then shall He answer them, saying, ‘Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to Me.’And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into life eternal.”

One thing that i learned..... if you notice, the goats and the sheep were separated FIRST before they were judged. That is really important to understand. Also they are gentile nations that remained alive through the tribulation until Jesus came down to earth. My current position is that only faithful christians will live through the tribulation although many will die being martyred ( see Rev 20 ). All unfaithful christians will experience physical death in the tribulation. So the sheep are the faithful gentile christians who survived the tribulation and helped the remnant jewish believers ( these my brothers ) and they will enter into eternal life meaning they will receive glorified bodies, the goats are the gentiles who were never believers. Blessings

The following verses reminds of false teachers like Pagani who are called 'apostles'... they continue to put people back in bondage and make money off it also.
    2 Corinthians 11
12 But I will continue to do what I am doing, in order to deny the opportunity of those who want an opportunity to be regarded just as our equals in what they boast about. 13 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no great thing if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their destiny will be according to their works.

Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”[e] 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

When someone believes their ability to keep the moral law enables them to hold on to their salvation it reveals something important about their view of the law and God. Gods standard is perfection and only one Man is good enough to fulfill, he is the Christ. Therefore the attempt of any to uphold the law falls far short of this standard. So one would have to believe either they are perfect or they have a cheapened view of the law which diminishes the righteousness of Christ. This is not grace its karma. Karma is witchcraft making the attempt at obedience a ritual . The law is good but not simply because it's the law but because its a picture of the perfect nature of God. The new covenant is not option B. As if we aim to fulfill the old covenant and when we fail grace comes in to help us the rest of the way. "All things are lawful for me" "There is therefore no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus". We are not under law but under grace so how then could the law be used against us to bring condemnation from God?

      Romans 3:20-24
20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
    12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
    Romans 4:4-5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
But to the one who does not work [that is, the one who does not try to earn his salvation by doing good], but believes and completely trusts in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God).

Yes, the Bible doesn't say just believe in Jesus and do as you please, however Paul wrote to the Galatians that they began in the Spirit and asked why they were then continuing in the flesh. You need Jesus to save you and then walk or rely on His Spirit to continue. Not a self help program. God saves from beginning to end.
