    This video is a daily trainer running shoe review of the adidas Adistar that features the new Repetitor and Repetitor + midsole foam. The retail price for the adidas Adistar is $130.00 U.S. dollars. They are a neutral road shoe that I ordered true to size and they fit me great. Enjoy the video.

    This shoe actually changed my running form for good. Went from a mild heelstriker to midfoot striker. Love them. The forefoot has softened up nicely after 60km. Personally, I hate really soft and squishy shoes that most people like for their runs so maybe I'm biased lol

    adistar are right shoes for me❤️
    both knee and ankle surgery recovering, neutral runner with supination, slow pace and long distance.
    last shoe I tried was adidas solar glide 5, and they did great, but adistar are my new favorite

    I think a niche use much people dont think of is heavy runners. Im about 98kg (still being in somewhat of a shape and doing my 20km a week besides biking and swimming) and i find it hard to get neutral shoes with cushoning that give me a little bit of support on tougher, more rocky paths and in the forest (no real trails, but not much asphalt either). There arent many choices. Its basicall 1-2 NB, Asics Gel-Nimbus and Saucony Triumph. But the Adistar, much like the Solar Series from Adidas, they nail it. And looking at the prices of some of the aforementioned models, they are already at 200 in Europe, while i can get the Adistar for around 100 if lucky.

    I love the design and color options for this shoe .
    It is a bit lighter then the Ultraboost 22 and so I wonder if it's a better shoe overall ... Adidas needs to use their Lightstrike Pro and make a high cushioning shoe that is also lightweight for a change.

    Wow! Thank you so much for this much-awaited video of your critical reviews on Adidas Adistar, Tim!! (You never burn us! ^^)
    Based on your feedback, Adistar would be a bit heavy to be in my daily training rotation list. Since I am a midfoot striker with somewhat high arches,, I kind of supinate and always enjoy plush/ cushiony energy return from my running shoes. (Because I have been spoiled by Nike ZoomX Inincible, NB Fresh foam More V3, Asics Novablast 2, and many Hoka shoes so far, I doubt if I'd really savor every stride in these shoes. However, looks like Adistar has its spefic purpose of slow and recovery training, and I like its vibrant colorway.😉)
    Again, thank you so much for all the details in your reviews on this new pair of shoes, Tim. Deeply appreciate it as always!
    Have a good day!!!🙋‍♀️

      Hi Jean. They are a little on the heavy side and they run heavy in my opinion. They are a workhorse and get the job done but they lack any fun factor. I like them, I don't love them. Have a great weekend Jean.

    • @mintymus

      I wouldn't rule out a pair of shoes based on weight, there are many other factors at play. If you like the Invincible Run there is a good chance you would like the Adistar.

  • @ducvanbui36
    @ducvanbui36 2 года назад +4

    The Adistar reminds me of the Asics Glideride which I truly enjoyed as my bread and butter a couple years ago. The Glideride has a very aggressive rocker design as well. The aggressive rocker shoes takes a bit of getting used to. Once your get your gait into a rhythm it can be pretty efficient. Shorter strides are needed for shoes like this I find.

    • @ducvanbui36
      @ducvanbui36 2 года назад

      @@mintymus , the Invincible is a great shoe. Shorter stride definitely more efficient and I find the sweet spot is the mid foot strike.

    • @mintymus

      @@ducvanbui36 So far I'm mixed on it, lots of the reviewers have claimed it's very bouncy and easy...I haven't found that to be the case at all. It's a VERY slow shoe, which is what I was looking for but I'm a little surprised it's this slow. Reminds me of a more plush, softer, less responsive Rebel V2.

    An interesting shoe, your foot does look stable in these, that heel bevel harks back to 80's Etonic shoes as a way of giving smoother transition. I just wish these were a bit lighter!...many thanks for review as always Tim.

    • @RunTall
      @RunTall  2 года назад +1

      I do to. I think they could cut back on all the plastic overlays and that would help. I do like the lockdown you get in them but they are pretty firm in the midsole. Have a great weekend John!

    Thanks. Nice review. How do they compare to the Bondi? Perhaps a running shoe battle is in order? 😁

    • @RunTall
      @RunTall  2 года назад

      Good question! I think that would be a good shoe battle. The Adistar do feel a little more firm to run in than the Bondi 7's. I feel like I get more bounce from the Bondi than the Adistar. I'll have take them both out and run in them back to back to get a good feel for the differences and similarities. Have a great weekend.

    Would the Adistar 2.0 work as a daily, all-purpose/all-day shoe for walking and standing? I have the AllBirds but for some reason my feet ache tremendously in them even a short walk. Funnily enough, my Caterpillar Colorado work boots are so much more comfortable for walking long distances. So I figure I need a firmer midsole with heel support rather than a max cushion shoe. What are your thoughts?

  • @kwyu

    You seem like such a nice guy I can't imagine you saying anything bad about even the worst shoes out there 😂 I will say though these shoes are good for someone like me that weighs 108kg and I agree the heel is almost like wood haha

    • @RunTall
      @RunTall  2 года назад +1

      I have had the opportunity to try the ZoomX SuperRep Surge. The Pegasus Trail 2 is a good daily trainer for light trail runs and / or gravel roads. They also work well on lightly covered snowy roads here. I do prefer the Pegasus Trail 3 over the 2. They upper fits better around my mid foot. Have a great weekend.

    • @RunTall
      @RunTall  2 года назад +1

      Honestly they would not be my first choice as a walking shoe. You can definitely use them that was and I'm sure they'd be fine but with so many other shoe choices out there, I think there are some better options. I love the Asics Gel-Nimbus 24, or the Hoka Bondi 7. Both are comfy walking and running shoes. Have a great day and stay safe.
