At age 69 I nap almost everyday and love a good nap, usually at least an hour, sometimes over two hours. Upon waking I'm refreshed both physically and mentally. Booyow!! It's like getting two giddyup days in one.
Seth it would be extremely interesting if you measured durometer out-of-the box and then after 50 miles. We always say about some shoes needing a break-in period and would be interesting to see if and how durometer changes as the mikes build up. Great content by the way!!!
Keep posting seth your a legend . You have literally inspired me to run again after 4 years off .. planning my first half and full marathon because of your channel . Thank you
Took first longrun in Adistar yesterday. Took one of my longest runs at first try with no gel and just half liter sportsdrink. Extremely good longrun shoe for a heavy runner like me. And probably good easy daily. But it is firm and big, but still feels very cushioned. May be perfect together with Adios 6/7 (for tempo/treshold/daily) and Adios Pro for racing.
QD: Power nap, where it ends just before deep sleep. You can do it while holding a pen in your hand that will drop and wake you up as soon as enter deep sleep. Typically lasts 10-20 minutes on average. Very useful during long hours work days and ultra trail running once you've discovered the average time it takes you (no need for a pen then)
I've been loving my Adidas Adistar! For a 6'6" 235 pound runner, this shoe is PERFECT! On a side note: Seth, looks like the Broncos may try and land Aaron Rodgers. That would be EPIC!!
@@zahidm6658 Softness/cushioning of a running shoe midsole is definitely relative to the weight of its wearer, especially if the shoes have high stack midsole.
@@zahidm6658 I believe so. I also do a lot of leg weights to strengthen my quad/calf muscles, so shoe weight really isn’t a factor for me. I could run with bricks 🧱 tied to my feet, and I still wouldn’t complain, lol!
QD: I do nap 3-4 days a week. On smart working days or weekends. On the couch, turn off the phone, just let go, I always wake up with no alarm between 10 to 20 min max... as a fresh man, ready to R&Roll !
QD: looooove naps!!! It’s rare that I’m able to do it but sometimes I’ll put my 3 year old to sleep after lunch and snooze for a little bit. 30 minutes is the sweet spot for me. Just enough to recharge for the rest of the day. Onward and Upward
In my humble opinion the top Adidas' daily trainer, on the heavy side it's the Solarboost 3, the 4s released just a month ago and it's basically the same shoe. I wouldn't compare the Adistar with the Nike Vomero but this Solarboosts. Seems like it's not well spread across the 🇺🇸 bc it's rare to see you guys out there reviewing it.
Just got these today for under 80. Feet hurt like a mofo and felt like I had to high step. Of course it's first day, only 3 miles. Hopefully I'm just breaking them in. Really like the look.
Question of the day… My napping strategy? I take a nap almost every day. I tend to either run or work out in the mornings, very early. I get home from work around 3:30 in the afternoon. I sit on the couch with my dog, fade off to sleep for about 20 minutes. I feel like 1 million bucks.
Thanks for the review Seth! Other shoes to buy: low drop, max cush, ton of stability and firmer ride - Glideride and Endorphin Shift! Could you compare their durometer scores please?
Im 36 and although i love napping, specially after hard run, i rarely nap more than 1 hour, any nap longer than 1 hour will distrupt my night sleep thus will ruin my tomorrow run
I would love to get a pair of Adistars but gonna wait until some discounts start showing up. Regarding naps, during the week its a no go but on the weekends i take a solid two hours from 3 to 5pm if I can. Training approx 14 hours per week (cyling and running) weekend naps are a must.
I nap after a long/tiresome day at work. Never more than 20 minutes and never after 5. I always set an alaram. Helps clear the head more than anything.
Hi Seth... I tried Adistar, but too stiff heel for me... so I change them for Adistar CS and I really enjoyed CS version more... Can you make a review of Adistar CS !??
QD: Honestly, the best nap for me is just sleep. Naps tend to mess up my sleep schedule, which is far more important. Plus naps kill my momentum, and I can never get any work done after them.
@@catchpole11 Maybe. I never bought the previous versions, so no problem for me. I hear that the Adios 6 is more like the older Boston. People get nostalgic, but change can be good.

Hey Seth, just about to start running again in February. I haven't ran since 21st November. I had a cracked heel from a jump. So I'm lucking high stack and soft to medium comfort. Basically a few 5k runs to start running again. Any suggestions for good trainers. I'm 6'2" and 195lbs.
Nike ZoomX Invincible, has to be your shoe. I know its expensive, but it will help that heel. If too expensive, the NB Fresh Foam More v3. Keep me posted Matthew, and thanks for being a member of the channel.
Hey Seth… with the move of the Pikes Peaks race dates - what are your plans? Are you going for the 3peat ascent ( golden trail qualifier) or skip this year?
I actually meditate using yoga nidra. You rotate your consciousness throughout your body and it puts you in a very deeply relaxed and restful state. The goal is not to fall asleep but to enter a deeply restful state while still awake. It really works!
Been watching for a while now, have never ever seen a 10 for any category for any shoe. How does „I love it“ not translate into anything better than an 8? Even considering your American grading system. It feels like a 9 or a 10 is some imaginary wonder shoe. The problem with this is, it makes interpretation of your scores less precise as if a 10 would be given to the best shoe/benchmark in its category.
Reminds me of a conversation with one of my teachers at school - now some years ago. How do I get better than 8/10 in my essays? Answer - you don't, I never give more than 8/10. Oh well ! Ultimately the conclusion to me of many shoe reviews are binary - is this a shoe that the reviewer likes or not. I concluded Seth thinks yes here although personally still think I am still on the no side. In a UK 13.5/US 14 that I take this would be stupidly heavy.
