SL20...interesting name. I might be the only one watching who remembers Adidas in 1972 with their highly innovative SL72, an excellent (for that era) shoe. In 1976, they launched the SL76 (See the pattern?). Nice to see Adidas going back to some “older” terminology! QD: I watch on my iPhone 11 Pro, in HD! No television...
My first pair of running shoes as a high school sophomore in 1973 were the Adidas Viennas (white leather upper and red stripes) - retail price $18! My second pair of shoes - Adidas SL 72! I also wore the Adidas Country.
I watch on my phone but I mostly just listen as I am driving and the video is connected to my car. When I get home I switch it to my Apple TV. I really enjoy your videos man. Keep up the great job!
I try to always watch on the big family TV and the reason is three fold. 1) the picture and sounds quality makes it a pleasure to watch 2) it encourages my family to engage with the channel despite being non runners 3) its comfortable! Thanks Seth 🤙🏃♀️
QD: phone or laptop. Just easier. Sometimes I’ll cast it to the living room tv, if I want to show the family something you’re talking about. Thanks for all the great content!
Everyday before I go run I lay my yoga mat in front of big screen t.v in my living room and stretch and watch your videos. Great knowledge and also gets me going on days I'm not really feeling it .
Another great video Seth! Have to say Ive been running in Adidas for over 7 years on and off and loved the old Bostons. The new Bostons are also a great shoe and I have to say the new SL20 are great too! Happy running from Scotland!
I’m with you guys! I have two pairs now. They never let me down. Every run in them is a good run. Bought one at the Reebok Outlet for $50 and the other from the website for $45!
I watch SJD daily (with coffee before work - I benefit from working from home) on big screen to enjoy the Colorado scenery. Lived in Denver years ago and love seeing the familiar sights. Love the daily vlog Seth - thanks for your contribution to the sport sir! Been watching since July 2019.
I love how the video began with DENVER, COLORADO text across the screen to make sure we knew you're from Denver...on a shoe review. Good job for being in Denver!!
I watch ur channel on my phone, because I use my phone a lot as many do . So where ever I’m at or what ever I’m doing I like to watch it on my phone because Its easier take it anywhere. Even when I was at school I would watch ur channel because it was so easy to watch it on my phone because I would use it all the time at school. And plus I live to watch your channel a lot !!!
I’m quickly realizing, because of your videos, that running shoes weigh as much as some track spikes did 25 years ago when I started running track. Crazy and awesome!
I ran in the SL 20 and in the RC2. The feel quite similar. The RC feel better for my foot and also faster. Another positive point about the RC 2 is, that they are cheaper.
Qod- I'm up at 5-530 every day and start doing house chores. I usually finish up just in time for that RUclips video icon to pop up when I can relax for 10-15 minutes to catch these videos. I look forward to them everyday! Thanks so much for doing these Seth! ♥️ With so much uncertainty right now, at least you give us this. 👍
Commuter shoe to the track - this is exactly how I was using my sl20! Excellent review and so on point! QD: my phone, coz its just easier and faster to get to the vlog that way :)
I watch on my iPad Mini which is now 5 years old. I don’t like to use my phone because I like to set aside time to really sit down and digest your video each day, so the iPad Mini is better for me because I only use it when I have a chance to sit.
I've watched on my laptop, phone, TV, and desktop. The screen I watch on all depends on timing for me! If I've got extra time in the morning I'll watch on my phone, if I'm making food at home i will play it on the TV in the background if my roommates aren't home. Otherwise will watch on my laptop or desktop depending on where I'm using my computer (campus or at home).
I have about 31 miles in the SL20's including a Half Marathon Time Trial. I love this shoe. It's pretty comfortable and quite snappy at an amazing price. I don't now if I would take them up to 20 miles or the marathon with the lower stack height. The midsole is definitely why you buy this shoe. Super snappy. It's funny you mention the track commute because that's the first run I did in the shoe!
Laptop and phone. Ran a 3:26:56 on my marathon trial today, inofficial PB, too fast in the beginning chasing Butter until 1/2 marathon (1h36min), I am done for today, good night from Salzburg/Austria!!!
Seth, I’m so glad you’re digging Adidas’s latest lower-profile offerings. The SL20 is a great shoe and I think it could be marathon-worthy for a light, efficient runner. However, even though that describes me, the snugger midfoot fit of the Boston (both 8 and 9) worked out better though I probably won’t use them for my marathon. However, it’s the shoe I just keep grabbing most often for all kinds of workouts because it’s so comfortable and versatile and mostly it just makes me want to go fast! It will be exciting to see what the Adizero Pro will be like. I guess it is coming out really soon.
QD: Watch on my laptop pre-run whilst foam rolling my calves. New big screen arrived today though! Triathlon Taren does a segment every Tuesday from 'story from the Traniac [his followeres] community'. It's a great format and a fan favourite, worth checking out.
Ah had to google this. SL = "Super Light" Makes sense as the original SL72 was (so it seems) and the SL20 certainly is light for something that is not an out and out racer.
I have about 30 miles on my SL20 shoes. I found them dirt cheap on adidas website weeks ago. Pretty much the same opinion on these. My heel slipped a bit so I locked it down with the runners knot and it helped a ton. I won't take them past 13-15 miles I don't think because I need more height. But these shoes are certainly snappy and fast. Very breathable, and for the $50 I paid, I can not complain.
Seth was so right about this shoe!! the upper felt way too unnecessarily structured & stiff. fit was meh a little bit of slipping here and there & thats why i had to return it. nonetheless lightstrike was definitely an upgrade. still a pretty decent speedy-day shoe, did a 9:37 3k out of the box on this one. but if you were to ask me personally, i still prefer the bostons :)
I ran in the Nike zoom next% for the first time this morning and wore low socks . I’m not use to them and felt like I was going to twist my ankle . When I took them off my heels were bleeding 🩸 and I was confused but will definitely wear longer socks 🧦 . I ran my best time but I think it was because of the excitement of running these 250 hyped shoes 👟
QD ipad or iphone usually. Just because it’s the most convenient. Occasionally I chromecast to the tv, but I’m usually watching when I first get up in the morning and the rest of the house is asleep
Watching you on Roku TV every morning when I’m feeding my son a baba .. it’s way better than watching on my phone .. Roku 4K will be cheapest bet, then you can decided which brand you want .. probably anywhere from $350-$600 for 65” depending on brand
I went up a 1/2 size with Adidas and all of a sudden the shoes fit my feet perfectly. (I have a weird foot. It is very wide up front and really narrow in the arch and heel, with a very high arch). I am LOVING the SL20 and Boston 8. I have been dealing with serious back issues, and now I am FINALLY able to run/jog again. I am slow and large (6,1; 200lbs +), but I am still loving the SL20 and Boston 8. I don't like moon boots. As soon as I lose the weight, I am planning on beating Kipchoge.
Excuse me, about the sizing as you state above you went up a 1/2 size with adidas. Can you let me know what size that you went up, UK/US/JAPAN or China?
Was super excited about these shoes, as my Pureboost DPRs are wearing out. Unfortunatly I had to send them straight back...they came up too small, so I'd recommend going up a half size, but even with the tight fit my heel was slipping up and down just walking around. Will have to try the Adios 5s or Boston 8s.
Usually mobile phone as the videos upload at 9.00pm so I am in bed. When I am sharing Seth's vlog with friends ill put it on the TV to maximise the experience so they subscribe lol

Sounds like it might be a good shoe. Affordable. Uses tire rubber (odd other tire companies aren't licencing thier rubber....Pirelli, Goodyear, Yokahama..). If only this shoe came in more "manly" colour ways. Black might not appeal to some (myself). Had the mesh been grey with blue stripes, white lightstrike and black sole...
Hi Seth, thank you so much the reviews you put out for us. I need to replace my Nike Pegasus 36, a shoe that has worked really well for me, but I would like to try something new. Is the SL20 a suitable replacement in terms of underfoot feel?
