Their musicianship, artistry, sense of style, and imagination all combine to deliver a performance of unique intensity and humanity from these two musical legends. Surely such playing will resound through the ages.
Great artistry. I don't know any pianist today who plays like Alfred Cortot played. His style is very insightful and intensely musical, idiosyncratic and probably unique. One feels that sometimes his feelings mastered him, to the extent that he sometimes missed notes. I love listening to his performances. Thibaud is also a master. His slurring from one note to another to emphasise feeling was a pre-war style. It fits this music perfectly.
A perfect example of the French style, now all but lost. The violin is light, elegant, especially in its upper register. The piano is played from the top down.

This is truly beautiful - thank you.

Superb! I'm so glad we still have this recording.
La plus grande interprétation de cette œuvre, sans conteste.
I agree.Thank you very much.

The melody of the fluent violin that continues as if it is about to break is beautiful. Thank you~^^
You are welcome. It's exactly as you say. Thank you for your comment.
Why so few views? Why so few upvotes, for this classic work in this historic performance by two consummate artists?
'Cause this ain't David Garrett
Astonishing
