- A few moments from the streamer preview event today for the new Haven map in Season 7 for Battlefield 2042. This is probably the only time I'll end up playing this map since it's limited to 64 players.

Overall I'm not a fan of the visual recoil, it just makes you not trust the guns or the way they fire anymore or the way they used to fire before the update. Sound, audio, that is what makes a gun feel better, more visceral, shaking the gun like you're pretending to fire it in a movie does not and if they are going to force this nonsense onto infantry players they really should make vehicle players screen's shake whenever they fire so they also can be provided "more visual impact and immersion when aiming down sights".
Apparently I have a EA affiliate code but it's only for Battlefield 2042 products including full game, season passes, coins etc. but not Battlefield back catalogue ( also only for users on desktop through the EA app )...I have no idea why they are doing this stuff now and for temporary time-frames but if for some reason you haven't bought BF2042 or related content and for some reason now want to buy it and want to support the channel you can use the code "RAVIC" in the EA app checkout, yes I'm supposed to get commissions from it. I believe things are going on sale again through EA soon or towards the end of March since that is when the code ends. Although unless you really love things like visual recoil or sitting in a vehicle every round I kind of doubt you're going to want to jump into this game now.

Something I keep forgetting to mention, they should have made it so the only vehicles you can spawn on this map ( Haven ) are the Hovercraft and LATV. That would have been so much better and funnier.
This game could be goated with some minor tweaks . What do you think Rav?
@@Deeznutz581 This game? Nope, too many things to undo or fix. You could smooth out a lot of things for the average gamer with a few changes but it wouldn't be enough. And the current playerbase especially the vehicle mains wouldn't be able to handle those fixes or changes. There is a reason they main vehicles in BF2042 and not in BC2, BF3, or BF4, most come from the BF1 era of DICE holding their hand.
@@Deeznutz581i honestly think the vehicles should be a reward and not just something thats always on the map for everyone at all times. I think every map (like control) in conquest should start with only some transport vehicles, not the mav of brawler, and it just starts off everyone fighting as infantry, eventually those peopl gain points and thjose points can be traded in for a vehicle. Then you cant get more points towards a vehicle while in a vehicle (prevents people from camping vehicles all game) so those people when they lose their vehicle have to go back to infantry to try to get some points, meaning people that havnt been in one can spawn one in. I think it balances out the game so we dont have vehicle campers, and the game focuses more on infantry.

Why should he play something else. He's a passionate BF player.. :) it's not his fault that the game designers focus on rainbow skins instead of gameplay. And lets face it, Rav and Musick own anybody on the server. For me the most entertaining BF content creators on earth. And thank you Ravic and Musick for keeping your calm and happy attitudes. Probably the only reason i staid. Best recommandation approx. 10 years ago by FrankieOnPc during on of his vids.

So weird that your character holds the AK5C by the magazine when equipped with the M203 instead of the launcher.
One of the things that makes me happy The AK5C is that the grenade launchers are no longer the M320 versions. It uses the m 203
The GL in 2042 isn't a M320, but a Polish GL (although based on the design that had a angled foregrip instead of the more tradition design like most UBGLs)
Sometimes it feels like the 3D spotting icon has its own hitbox that counts towards passive spotting

@@zaicanna96 I'm pretty sure that was just a bot. they have bots in these lobbies to fill it out. since its a content creator showcase.
@@zaicanna96 No, it's pretty easy to tell who is on whose team. Coloured glowsticks + the stupidly obnoxious name appearing over enemy players from 50m away is more than enough.
Besides, most people couldn't differentiate class models for the opposing faction considering you were swapping teams between matches. It's why it isn't uncommon for players to fire a burst at people up close when a friendly rushes past.
Reminds me of how bf4 was at launch with the recoil.

The sound bug has been in the game a while i have had it before, i have also had a washed screen while trying to play like some sort of overlay was still present on the screen maybe from the death screen or when you tab i dunno. - _( i . i )_-

I returned to battlefield since like season 4. Is the G57 nerf coming this next update? It honestly doesn't look like they really did anything

I saw in the patch notes that they buffed the GVT. Are you going to try it?
I only see changes to AP ammo which I only ever used to finish of tanks at low HP, nothing about fixing my build that they nerfed.
Curious how you play with automatic weapons Ravic. Tap fire was always supreme in BF4, but when I tried our 2042 I felt like I did better just by spraying and praying.
Because before the last of recent patches, there was no penalty to shooting full auto. They added increased bullet spray after you shoot half of your mag, to make people use tap fire more.

@@spartanB0292 BF2042 tap-firing isn't as satisfying or advantageous at range as it was in BF4, especially when console players can ignore the need and just spam with their reduced recoil and aim assist.

Hi, I installed the game a few days ago, I always try to play headshots in shooters. I saw your videos with the desert eagle, I thought this was what I needed. How much has the mechanics of visual recoil changed the firing of this pistol? Thanks
Similar to how it affects the DMRs, it's a bit jarring to shoot now. The recoil itself was always pretty strong on the Deagle so now it's basically exaggerated to a stupid degree that I'm pretty sure no one wants, outside of those people who praise games for how they look when comparing still images...
@@RavicThank you, it's sad. 3 headshots to kill and complicate a series of good shots from a weapon that still kills with one shot... it may be that the real reason for the introduction of visual impact seems to be the complication of the game for skill players, along with the increase in the required number of headshots from assault rifles

@@user-lw6kq3ef1pits not really a visual impact, the recoil changes Its actually a thing in the game now, I dont mind it because now atleast the guns in the game have their own behaviours now. It brought some lesser used weapons to be somewhat decent. Alot of the weapons before this felt dead as hell, Either no recoil or just a pinch of kick. Gunplay feels more alive now in S7
@@colonelace2901 It's exaggerated because it was already bouncing up the screen before the visual recoil was added making firing it fast while ADS inconsistent. Now it's doing that with additional random visual flare that doesn't match where the weapon is firing so it makes it appear even less consistent. It just makes anyone who played the game regularly doubt the weapons accuracy or doubt what they were used to prior to the update. Unless a player was on console or using a controller or playing at a fisheye high FOV there was plenty of recoil on all the weapons prior to the visual recoil update. If console players wanted more recoil so they actually had to "feel" the weapon they should have asked DICE to remove the reduced recoil console/controller players get. Because what this kind of update ends up being is an indirect buff to console players since it largely doesn't affect them with their automatic recoil reduction and especially when aim assist will help them through all of it.
The visual recoil thing sucks majorly.
I did some tests on my test portal server (AA1GHS if you're interested) using some of Noname's code to make spreadsheets of the weapon changes. (I'll provide the google docs link to the spreadsheets if asked.)
G57 damage was dropped from a max of 28 to 24, and a lot of assault rifles and LMGs (Besides the headshot multiplier nerf from 2.15 to 1.9) had their max damages dropped from 28 to 26. SMGs headshot multipliers went from 1.25 to 1.55.
One thing that always bigged me in this game is the animations where you engage the safety of the gun before reloading and selecting fire after. Like, your in an active combat zone. The necessity to do that is stupid. Idk if its filler animation but it just looks stupid to me.
Literally ALL the animations in this game bother me. Some look oookay? But a majority of the gun handling animations look so weird and unnatural, like it was generated by an A.I. I feel like my character is an android or something which how they move all non-human-like. Even the soldier animations the characters backs are too stiff, it’s like their heads are never misaligned with their ass, like they have a rod up their butt the whole time or something.
The Animators over at Call of Duty are just so ahead of the game purely with whatever mo-cap magic they are doing for animations.
It's something that takes zero extra effort to do and is a good thing to get drilled in for safety on the range without affecting your reload in a combat situation. It's a non-issue, and is pretty much only seen on the AR-15 style guns anyway due to how accessible the safety is.
I also don't understand the issue with the reload animations in general. Outside of the vault / portal weapons, the animations are all fine.

@@jordantyo7839 Probably not, so much of the game is where things went wrong or where DICE started to take all "Battlefield" and fun out of it and we are still suffering from those two games later.

Honestly I know that the limited customization of weapons, elite kits, and random shots from weapons was what I hated personally. But those grand operations were super fun. 👌

Is that option normally available? It was kind of bugged in this build UI-wise and I haven't really touched the ARs outside of the early AC-42.
Incendiary noob-tube has been in the game since launch. I believe the M5A3, AK-24 and SFAR-M had it, but I am glad to see another weapon finally get UBGL variety since it's been lacking in the post-launch guns.

Couldn't agree more about this weird "visual recoil" update, punchier audio would have been the right way to go. I don't think ANYONE knows why they chose to do this (because their reasoning is bs), especially now this far into the game. I feels like we're at the point where they are treating this "old" game as a training ground for newer devs at Dice or something.
My assumption is still they brought visual recoil back because COD brought it back.

@@cyborgofdeath Yeah I wondered about that as well since the only major changes recently are Vince taking lead and David Sirland returning. I've met David and him forcing visual recoil into the game wouldn't surprise me. Vince on the other hand I don't know that well and haven't met in person so I don't have a good read on him and it's making things harder to predict but him coming from a heavy COD background it does make you wonder.
@@Ravic The one thing that makes me sceptical about Vince pushing visual recoil into 2042 is that Titanfall 1 and 2 did not have any (I don't know about Apex Legends, since I only played for ~2hrs a few years ago). I think this was solely on DICE's end, with it being someones 'genius' idea to add 'punch' to the feeling of weapons.

TBH, the visual recoil looks great to me, a big complaint I have about the gunplay is that they just look like you're shooting air rifles at the moment, it reminds me a lot more of Mw19/Mw2/Mw3 recoil, which ironically is a lot more punchy, realistic, and intersting then any recoil DICE has ever came up with.
I do want to ask though, it seems like you generally dont like the direction 2042 has taken, and it seems like thats been a running theme ever since like Bf Hardline, Im just curious why you still play the game when it just seems like you dont like the direction its been going for years.
I can usually find my own small part of fun in the bad ones. Sniping in BF1 or BFV, I never played the games alone unless I was testing stuff so that helps considerably to have better or more enjoyable moments in the recent Battlefield games. BF3 was the last Battlefield game you could play, enjoy, have fun in solo as well as with friends. There was a lot of little fun stuff and playing with friends stuff early on with BF2042, but they've been removing, changing or nerfing things to get rid of those fun things.
@@Ravic I see what you mean actually, I mostly play the games solo but when you're playing with friends even the worst multiplayer games can be fun, I dont know if I personally agree with your opinion on Bf3 but I know thats a popular consensus, I found I can generally still have fun with the games, but I did take a long break after Bf1 came out and only came back for the later part of Bf5 and 2042, cant imagine playing those games solo when they released.

@@jonkrjokll8636 FOV is 90 in-game which is technically ~106 horizontal since I'm playing at a 16:9 resolution.
Played for a few rounds and the new season isn't looking good. The new map has optimization problems, the new recoil animation is literally just random twitching, and some of the battlepass rewards are unused assets all the way from season 4. I swear whenever people are just about to have some faith in 2042 DICE always finds a way to disappoint us.

It's not a recoil rework, it's visual recoil which means the recoil hasn't changed. It's only more cancer to shoot now.
Never felt the same to me, but I agree the recoil was pretty low in general.
As the person above said, this isn't a recoil rework; it's literally just a means to make guns feel shitty to use for zero gain. Apparently it's to make guns 'feel' punchier when firing, but clearly DICE doesn't know that this mechanic has been vocally despised since BF4 (even the new MW2 had it and people constantly brought up how shitty it was; it was basically a selling point of MW3).

IMO, Dice should choose one of the gunplay, either choose random, visual recoil or weapon bloom. It's take too much toll on player now to focusing on both while shooting.

This maps dismal at best , it feels too call of camp duty and not like a battlefield map at specially with the limited tanks and choppers, guess this is what we get when they hire an ex cod developer snd give him the reigns to battlefield he fucks with the guns and makes a call of camp fest map, definitely do not have high hopes for the next bf
Tried playing and 3/4 matches it crashed. DICE are worthless
