  • DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT run this loadout or Heavy Barrel on the AK 5C. You will lose the majority of 1v1 fights because of the reduced rate of fire. I was mostly just trying everything available for the AK 5C and for some reason it felt like with the Heavy Barrel you could tap fire the weapon similarly to how you could tap fire weapons in BF4, kind of like how the Scar-H handled except in this case the slower RoF didn't mean it was doing more damage as a compromise. So basically just making the AK 5C or I suppose any weapon with the Heavy Barrel attachment in Battlefield 2042 worse. At the very least it doesn't seem like there is enough benefits to ever really consider using it other than boredom which I suppose with all the attachment changes, weapon adjustments, visual recoil being added to the game, and weapon spread changes is the same for most attachments. All of which seems counter to the initial design of the game considering how they went out of there way to add the +Plus system to make it so you can change your weapon on the fly to be something else or to function like a different type of weapon as shown in those early trailers. Like with the vehicle system or available loadouts they were trying to make one weapon have the ability to function like multiple weapons which is a nice idea but as we know now went over the heads of most players who only seem to care about weapon count regardless of quality, they just want quantity because apparently more weapons means better game.
    Also with how the +Plus system mostly gets used as a way to carry more ammo instead of focusing on separate weapon types like intended I had a thought on the +Plus system having some form of weight system, at least for parts of it. For example instead of someone having all three magazine slots filled with the same ammo type in varying sizes you could clear two of the slots and then the option to carry more magazines of the one or first type is available. Ideally or in a way a sort of more realistic way this would only apply to the smaller or more normal magazines and not extended or drum mags. The idea being you can either carry way more ammo but have smaller magazine sizes so more reloading or carry less ammo but be able to shoot for much longer with larger extended or drum mags. Because while yes Battlefield is an arcade shooter it is silly to imagine someone tac sprinting and jump sliding around whilst carrying multiple drum magazines full of 5.56 or 7.62, also where would most of Specialists be storing or carrying them?...nevermind don't answer that. The other part this additional system could affect is the under barrel area. For example sacrifice some of those additional magazines of ammo and additional grenade launcher types in order to carry more grenades of a single type ( with some balancing considerations or limits to be aware of ), so for Angel I could run around with a limited two magazines of Standard Rounds but the tradeoff is I can carry three or four AP grenades. It's not overly complex and I can already think of the simple UI/UX changes to make it easy to work with. This system also isn't really needed for the game, it's just a thought I had that would kind of push loadouts towards roles, like marksman or grenadier within the existing systems of BF2042.

    I really like your idea for a weight system to be tied in with the plus system. I think that's the best overall way to approach it to be honest and I'm (not) surprised someone at DICE didn't try this. I guess we'll just have to see how the plus system is integrated, if at all, into the next title.

    Honestly i like this gun its just that due to how well it preforms lotta people will gravitate towards it leading to a lot of my deaths coming from the AK5C nowadays and thr gun simultaneously gaining more of my ire

    The first time i got the game and there's heavy barrel attachment i kind of excited, because since bf2042 released after warzone i thought it would be similar that it would make you can shoot longer range and the bullets travels way quicker, but just like you said, it make the RoF slower and can make you lose in close range 1v1, and since then i never put it to weapon cuztomize, just muzzle and suppressor

      According to the in-game description for the Heavy Barrel attachment it is supposed to increase muzzle velocity ( shoot longer range before bullet drop kicks in ) making them "quicker", it also says increased accuracy. However I just see neither being enough or noticeable to the point that it is useful outside of single fire shooting from a very camp friendly spot.

    I have the standard ammo/heavy barrel in slots 2, but running subsonic/wrapped as primary, it's super good. i agree that heavy barrel kinda gets slapped up close if you miss even 1 or 2 shots though with so many high rof guns.

    So the heavy barrel with the heavy rounds makes it feel like almost like a DMR - Buuuut, HB+CQB rounds makes it REALLY slick, though it lacks range..
    I love using the 5x Scope with this at all ranges and it makes the gun look sexy af
    Ravic I have a challenge for you - Use the M16 with Ironsights - its unironically amazing.. (Though I realise the recoil on PC is worse than console)

    i like your idea for plus system changes but what if they let every class use launchers again that way i can run the rpg on sundance and get sick midar vehicle kills. (on a serious note did you enjoy it back when anti vehicle wasnt engineer only or did you like when it was removed because i thought it was really fun to be honest)

      I've been pretty vocal ( at least in my video descriptions and comments ) that tacking on the Class system was a mistake. The game wasn't designed for it originally so for it to work well and be effective they would have had to do a much larger overhaul of multiple core systems which they can't do because of the time and developer resources required would be close to what it takes to make an entirely new game. So overall what they did with trying to force a Class system into BF2042 is waste time and make the game worse, especially when they decide to further buff vehicles and then add more to various maps after "implementing" Classes. I don't think it was a big deal with all Specialists having launchers because even when they did there were still so many tanks and aircraft roaming the map destroying everything. Besides if they had any intention on making infantry vs vehicle balanced they would have done scaling for player counts or created hard limits like only so many players can equip rocket launchers on a team because otherwise they were balancing ( gadget's damage ) based on the idea that every player ( 64 on one team ) had one equipped. Based on the reduced number of rockets you can carry and pitiful damage it looks like they based it solely on that worst case scenario of every player having one and did not put in any considerations to ease of use and the average player actually being able to hit something. The ai/bots are better shots with the Recoilless and they cheat so what does that tell you.

    Ravic give me a sign or something, a prediction at least. you really think they are really gonna get it right in the next battlefield or is it gonna be another bust? its been eating at me recently because i hope they make you guys playtest early next year or at least this year ( would really like it if they got us more deeply involved instead of those crappy surveys) because I cant stand to see another trailer or a showcase of what the next title is. idk maybe I'm going through battlefield life crisis.....

      It would be nice to be able to give feedback during game development and not after the meaningful stages where nothing can really be changed. This is pretty standard though and I haven't seen them do that ever for any of the recent Battlefield games. The surveys seem to make games worse or at least they have with BF2042. It's probably because most people answer the survey questions with selfish or narrow focus answers, not taking into consideration the average player or the vast playstyles in Battlefield games. Because if they had used any of my answers as reference for suggested changes they never would have ruined the game with the map reworks or tacked on Class system. Also considering the repeated feedback from me to DICE and DICE devs about removing suppression ever since it was introduced in BF3 and that feedback not doing anything and ultimately suppression only got removed when the developer that forced it into the game left DICE it shows that some things can't or won't be changed because of stubborn developers. There are too many variables to make a decent prediction. The main ones being, 1 - I don't know what Vince Zampella has in mind for Battlefield, he is a bit of a wildcard. 2 - BF2042 had at least three studios working on it and it turned out like it did although COVID cut the real development time down to around one and a half years so not a lot of time however supposedly four studios are working on the next Battlefield title. Why do they need four? Are they really that restricted on time and resources they need additional help? Are they using the extra studios to make more pointless game modes like they did in the past with Firestorm or in BF2042's case Hazard Zone or are they using them like they did in BF3 or BF4 or BF1 where the extra studio worked on DLC ( map packs and weapons )? 3 - DICE's development cycle has been to take an early version of the currently supported active Battlefield game and use that as a base for the next Battlefield title. If they did that like they have done in the past that means they'll be using an early version of BF2042 as a base and that raises some additional concerns. Also when BF2042 was announced I had mentioned that would likely lead to the next game being BF2143 or something close to that so using BF2042 as a base isn't necessarily a bad thing however it would add a huge amount of extra developer time and resources to remove and clean the things they seem to indicate they are going to avoid with the next Battlefield title. Meaning if they started from scratch with the majority of the systems and design of the game they as developers and we as gamers would be way better off. However that is wishful thinking and an unknown so like the rest of the variables you could assume the worse and base your expectations on that.

    Yeah, I agree on the Heavy Barrel being useless. Projectile Velocity while useful, is nothing to really write home about and ADS Accuracy is pointless as the AK 5C is pretty accurate already and If you really wanted more accuracy, the Tactical Compensator would have been a way more useful option. The extra Vertical Recoil would've been a nice thing as It would've made the weapon a bit more challenging to use, If it wasn't for the reduced RoF basically cancelling it out.
    As for the Plus system, It would be nice If It didn't work like a Bandolier system, especially when you take into considering that thanks to their weapon proficiency for Assault Rifles, The Assault class can get at least a total of 500+ bullets on a AoW AR weapon which for me just doesn't feel right because why would ever want to work with a Support player by that point? If the plus system instead worked in the way that wouldn't go past a certain amount of bullets, but you instead had to pick how many mags of a specific Magazine type you want, I would have liked it more though It wouldn't change my opinion of Battlefield not needing it at all as I feel like It would just be better off without it

    He is so lucky with the enemy encounter positions. In my game it is mostly being shot when shooting someone else or enemy being too far away.

      @@h-reco8963 I play on console and I concur with your statement. I don't know if the dynamic of PC is different from console. But when I duel an enemy there's always someone in a corner, or laying under something killing me. Not to mention the snipers. On Xbox half the team is camping on high ground or at the edge of the out of bounds zone with spawn beacon. If you stop running 2 seconds to aim, someone will pick you.

      Very little of his positioning is due to luck. Ravic has been a Battlefield fixture for a LONG time and knows how to control the map like few others.

      Play FPS games long enough and you'll be able to out position most of the playerbase in any game you play. Ravic is just good at this game with thousands of hours.

    I’m super curious what type of ADS Fire “style” that you prefer. The bullet spread/ bloom of BF4 and 2042 in a way or the recoil style of BF1, BFV, and COD?

      With BF1, BFV, and COD, while they all have a ADS mechanic they also don't punish hipfire appropriately. Meaning hipfire is good for too many situations than it should be in those games which ends up making a ADS mechanic less meaningful, less of a focus which if you're going to even have ADS in your game it should be the focus otherwise why bother. BF4's spread isn't bad and it does a decent job of balancing out full auto or punishing people trying to mag dump at range and expect to land every shot. Personally I prefer leaning more towards BC2's direction because during that time they heavily nerfed any kind of hipfire and made it so both hipfire and ADS fire suffered if you tried to full auto it no matter the range. However both BF4's and BC2's spread or gun mechanics are pointless like with most gun systems in games when you combine them with the ridiculous movement mechanics we have now in video games. Excessive ADAD strafe spam with minimal penalties to firing while moving, sliding, slide jumping, multiple speeds of sprint, "hitreg" is always going to feel like crap when your game has all of that because it'll never be synced no matter the game engine.

      ​@@Ravic It's why for me BF3's gunplay was so satisfying, all weapons just felt unique.
      ACR for example people thought because it had 800rpm it'd be good in cq fights but it's damage went up over range and it did the least damage up close out of the AR's or the AS VAL most treated it like an SMG although tap firing quickly and getting used to the bullet drop/velocity you could drop people across the map, it got me banned from so many severs because people were baffled. Think I got to 4th in the world for kills with the Val 😅.

      Audio and timing. Those are two things that often allow me to keep track of and control the situations around me. Audio is probably and obvious one, timing is more depended on how long you've played a game or just FPS games in general as it contributes to how quickly you can grasp the time it takes to do certain actions in a new game, what actions most players take in certain situations, etc. where the more you know the more control you have over what occurs. After that it's a matter of getting randomed by players in weird places or positions that you are unfamiliar with and adding that to your knowledge or "the more you know" part.

      Sure that makes sense if you are planning on playing the map Redacted and only that map but with any map that has vehicles Angel is more efficient with the loadout crate when it comes to resupplying teammates and squadmates to full with explosives versus the small ammo box that only does one at a time and a shared cooldown preventing you from hitting multiple ammo boxes. The Angel crate lets you resupply all your explosives in one hit which is ideal with the vehicle spam currently in the game.

      + Horizontal recoil means It gets less recoil Horizontally, while If It had - Horizontal Recoil, It would mean you would've have to deal with more Horizontal Recoil

      @@Ravic They only have access to the HE UBGL, which admittedly does 'okay' damage to vehicles (around 10 on side shot, I believe), but you only get access to one shot with it. Not really much reason to swap over to using
