I think it had to do something with the game engine also? Frostbite engine, as buggy as it can get could be built to fit open-world FPS sandbox game like Battlefield franchise as it can optimize the processing progress, thus provide a more cinematic feeling with great detail if it was done right with the right talent. Meanwhile, IW engine is built to fit an fast-pase arcade game so it require the processing progress for such game to be as optimize as possible, thus less detail since honestly, when you zooming at 30mph, I doubt you ever gonna notice such thing so why bother makes it.

The effect you are referring to at around 4:00 with light passing through the soldiers ears is called ‘Subsurface scattering’ in which light enters a translucent object, scattering inside and then exiting in a different location. This happens to everything from grapes and fruit to human skin, and is an option in almost every AAA game nowadays as a graphics option. It’s a fun experiment to try in real life to get your phone light and shine it through your fingers or your ear and see the light passing through as you move it around. It’s so cool watching video games simulate these natural phenomena and I really look forward to what other things games will be able to simulate in future!
When I was a playful kid I got thorns in my hands and fingers all the time and my mom would use a flash light to light thru to locate the thorns before taking them out.
If you didnt know, while inspecting a gun in MWIII that only has one bullet left, the magazine will not have any cartidges inside, because the last one is already in the chamber, but if you reload with only one bullet, the animation is the same as with any amount of bullets still left, so when you reload youll see that theres still a few bullets still in the mag, when there shouldnt be any except for the one already chambered
The weird thing is that when you reload when there's one in the Chamber, the gun should have 31 bullets instead of 30 because theres already one in the chamber. It always shows 30 which means if u keep one in the chamber, the magazine would only give u 29 bullets instead 30.

Rolling nades are better, in CS for sure is the case, I would argue even for MW3 since if you know the map - grenade can give you kill in unexpected ways instead of being stuck for BS reason.
BFV crouch run mechanics literally turned its environment as literally ground cover, the smaller the silhouette the less you get hit. man i love the pacific maps, the trenches and bunkers systems, to airfield's hail marry run which made smoke effective. it made arsenal and tools has purpose sense every route you take has its advantages

They would look more like MWIII, where you can only see how the dust gets kicked up around the blast site and near you. That's your only visual indicator of a shockwave, and not that weird heat distortion, so MWIII does that better.
People hate on BFV but they only do because they're comparing it to some of the best games ever made, compared to most games BFV outshines them completely.

Battlefield V is such an underrated game and you can see how much passion is behind its development, It is such a stunning game, but it came out at the wrong time and the Treatment of the fans where so poorly that it died very quilckly.
So the only thing Battlefield has to fix is Suspension(Car Jumps) and yet this game on sale costs 4e while lowest price of cod with just updated/polished graphics from COD MW(2007) costs 20e..
I think what many people also dont get is that it is not all the graphics that impress but the attention to detail. For example the craters, the waddling also the magazines and ofc the flag thing. So dont think that BFV only impresses with graphics nowadays.
It’s pretty clear to me both games had very different priorities in terms of interactivity. Going back to a classic setting like WW2 definitely seems to have motivated DICE to go above and beyond what they had done before for animations and environmental interactivity. It really paid off as V is arguably the best playing game of all the Frostbite titles. COD’s last huge update was MW19 and they’ve been iterating on that ever since. It looks great and they’ve done a lot in terms of interactivity and animation for sure, but I can’t be the only one who thinks each game has somehow looked a bit worse than the last (excluding BOCW which didn’t run on the newer MW engine as far as I know)
The head turn part is there wayy back before these AAA games released. it's nostalgic remembering having fun without sweat in my childhood game, Point Blank
Every COD since MW19 has been exceptionally shit. The battlefield franchise is better, in basically every way, BF2042 is so fun to play now with all the issues they have sorted, nothing comes close to it

It’s pretty clear to me both games had very different priorities in terms of interactivity. Going back to a classic setting like WW2 definitely seems to have motivated DICE to go above and beyond what they had done before for animations and environmental interactivity. It really paid off as V is arguably the best playing game of all the Frostbite titles.
COD’s last huge update was MW19 and they’ve been iterating on that ever since. It looks great and they’ve done a lot in terms of interactivity and animation for sure, but I can’t be the only one who thinks each game has somehow looked a bit worse than the last (excluding BOCW which didn’t run on the newer MW engine as far as I know)
