Awesome review, Lee! Thanks! 😃 I absolutely agree with your complaints. I think I've seen those connectors for the wings being sold somewhere, but it wouldn't be too easy to mod them in there... It's really a shame. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I actually did buy this getting ready for my first maiden flight. I got the return to home version so it has a flight controller and everything runs inav I had a question though I watched your ELRS edge TX videos for getting the NAV telemetry screen on the controller using a radio master boxer I am, but I was curious on if you had any recommendation to get the telemetry data and all that stuff, including showing map GPS on like a ground station so the people I’m flying with can see all the information I would be able to see like my altitude my speedmy position on a map and all that stuff because having it on the controller is nice but I fly FPV so I don’t really need it on the controller, but it would be nice for the people I fly with to be able to see any tips
Drilling a hole in a wing-root as a pass-thru for a 4-pin connector (GPS), or transmitter would be an easy mod, as very accessible from top to plug-in. Speaking of top cover, it may be possible to 3d-print an alternative version that increases volume slightly to better fit a flight controller. (depending on where needs to be for C/G) Overall not bad, appears good value at the price point.
This makes sense, given the camera weight of gopros, etc. from 4-7 years ago. Will be interesting to see how your build balances with a current generation FPV/camera stuffing.
Been looking for a new foamie and I think I like this one. Its like the perfect size as I've been looking for a 850mm wing and this is damn close. Plus I really like the bay and the big ass area for a battery. What would be your suggestion for a wing around this size?
I've been following you for years and have been saying the same thing . "I sure would like to get into wings " leaning more towards the dolphin however !
I have lots of content aimed at helping the transition. See my INAV for beginners series (if you want an FC) or ruclips.net/video/Xbk5kQyi5G8/видео.html if you don't.. Best of luck!
hi Lee a great wee plane always follow your videos i have only just purchased one of these atomrc theer bats RTH and thought it came with a 3d printed nose hatch for putting a dji vista air unit in it but it never came in the box this would have been nice touch in todays world does anyone know were you can even download a 3d print file i have contacted ATOMRC and checked there site as they say it is optional nose hatch i have searched thingiverse but not a lot of prints
Hi Lee thanks for your reply atomrc contacted me back today and sent me the stl files to print the nose hatch It would be good if atomrc had included in the box a link for stl files or supplied the part
Nope, not gonna happen for me, I'd just buy an S800 kit. For the AtomRC Theer Bat, you're paying $20 for removable wings. Emax motor + quad ESC + 2 9g metal gear servos can be had for about $28. Your comment about having the electrical connections in the wing are spot on, what good is the removable wing if you're still unplugging wires and adding wear and tear to the connectors.
@@Painless360 that must be corrected, great plane but what makes it stand out is that is so tough that is virtually indestructible. Perfect for anyone starting.
@@Painless360 For sure. Dolphin was and still is my top plane. Lost mines due to an error on my part. I never really saw it as a wing like this Theer Bat.
Definitely reminds me of a reptile s800, one of my favorite models
Thorough review video Lee. Thank you for being a go-to source for helpful looks at new products, with opinions that address my questions.

Hi Lee, Thanks for the update video, thanks for the siide by side with the AR Baby pro. I made my decision.
I agree! My favorite planes are Atomrc..

I have heard that you do need a decent weight from the battery and FPV/Camera stuff in the nose to hit CG so I will look at that when I built it out..

Folks, does someone know, where to get the "nose hatch cover for o3 airunit" from? Its visible on product pictures, but its not part of the package :\

Did you already build it with Walksnail avatar and if so, how do you fit that camera in?
Not yet.. I have a few other projects on the go, before I get to this... Stay tuned!
Hi Lee. Great review. Odd thing, Skyzone and Atomrc sites are sold out store wide! Any insights?
I'll pop them an email...
@@Painless360 Hi Lee. I see some options have become available but mostly not. Did you hear back from them?
thanks. we need a test flight. Atormc still issue with stock for EU.
Thanks for the encouragement. I'll look for an FC...

Is it the same indestructible material as the reptile S800?
Thank you.
I never got an s800 so can't comment... Happy flying

Is it better than a Sonicmodell ar wing classic?
Until I've flown it, unable to comment.. Stay tuned!
I can see RTH option for 149$ next to PNP version , what’s that ?
Covered in the video. It's supplied with INAV. See my Swordfish video... Happy flying
My atomrc favorite is the killer whale. Overall favorite is the is the reptile dragon v2. Wish they would make a v3 with more hd friendly mounting
The AtomRC Swordfish is fab too... Happy flying!
A Dolphin 2 would have been nice.
Yeah, dolphin with better nose for HD camera stuff.
Nice! 👍
Looks promising, meanwhile zohd is too "250g" minded to bring back their best wings.
Not a fan of wings anymore. With the limited control surfaces they just don’t fly as nice as a proper plane with rudder and elevator.
There are things like the Dolphin that only need two servos (one for each elevon), but fly like a traditional plane. Worth a look..
