I like the scale for rating fixed-wings! I think it covers many things about what someone would think about when purchasing a fixed-wing. Quick reference for the scale used (3:22): Slow Speed Performance | Durability | Space for Electronics Fast Speed Performance | Maneuverability | Transportability/Storability
I just got into wings after 5 years of quads. I did buy a vas chimera but glued the wing on upside down and with the airfoil that it has wouldn’t fly. They sent me another one and I revoked its closet camping permit after I bought and flew the sky shadow S800. Waaaayyy too much fun. Can’t believe how much punishment it can take. Two crashes and with some goop glue it in the air again. I have a reptile dragon another S800 V2 and just bought a vas specwing for some speed. Great video I’ve watched you a million times. I’m a slow learner.
I love the scales! Seeing “Stability,” as mentioned in the intro, for action cams would be awesome, as would one for flight times. Even without those, this system would be a great addition to the reviews. I was about to order a T1 Ranger, but this video has me reconsidering the Dolphin now.
Great videos and thanks for the efforts in explaining each wing. 8 of my FPV drone friends including me now into fix wings and your channel became extreme useful 😍
I missed this one back when I had been in service deployment for a few month but luckily you had told me about this video today when I had mentioned the nice new score for planes . Great improvement.
My list out of my planes (Top 4) 1. NANO TALON EVO 🏆 (modified) 2. EACHINE F16 (highly modified) 3. HeeWing T1 Ranger ( calm wind days) 4. Diatone Ripper R690/ Reptile s800 v2 Most of the videos can be found on my page. 😎🤙
I have the F01 on my list. You didnt mention the Reptile Dragon V2. Its my favorite by far. I bought and tried to fly the AR Wing Pro. It crashed six times and ended up in the trash. I went back to the AR900 and it flies great. I have a T1 on order and look forward to flying it. I have abondoned the long nose planks because I'm sick of them breaking off during a less than ideal landing. My next one after the T01 will be the Atomic Dolphin. It looks like a gem to fly.
"Launches are relatively easy." - Re: Ar Pro. I hope so! Mine is almost ready to maiden. Some folks have really struggled with launching this plane. They'd beg to differ on it's crash survivability. I added some carbon spars in the bottom with goop. I laminated also even though it was a total pain in the butt. I'm finding it very challenging to find CG and with my DJI air unit in a side bay, I had to add weight at the opposite wingtip to balance it side to side.
Not that anyone asked me but I like the t-1 for proximity ish flying. I don't have a GPS or anything in it just throw and go. The little flyfish is next on my list it's really fun LOS with the rudder can make nice turns and fpv just cruising around does good in the wind for it's size. And the dolphin I have setup with FC and giant battery it's just a nice plane fast and efficient. Also really like the mini skyhunter racing twin boom another fun proximity flyer but not much room for batteries and such
Hi Lee Great list of planes. I have a AR Pro that I'm still working out the kinks. But I really like is the HeeWing Ranger T1. I just need something that will break down for transport. Thanks again for the list of favorite planes.
Did the radiator on the vista help with something on the HeeWing f01? I mounted mine vertical after the camera with a 3d printed mount and did not observe any issues with it.
Hi, I’m interested in the atomic dolphin. What is the average flight time with the recommended battery and motor? Could you fly it in a soccer field or does it need more space?
Can you clear my doubt? Is the lift on the drak to enhance diving? Can you give me a advice or tip for a good responsive wing for mountain fpv? I really appreciate your attention, thanks!
I need to rebuild my zohd orbit, but was thinking of what’s a good choice is for carrying a full size gopro without the nose or other parts in the way of the video
Thanks so much - very valuable practical information I believe the Ranger T1 is the most silent and the Diatone Ripper the most annoying? From what I have heard most pushers are loud because the prop is relative close to the end of the wings ... do you think extending the motor mount on the end of the Dolphin and using a larger low RPM folding prop might help? I like an efficient fast plane with power/range and I guess the Dolphin might be perfect for that, and it has a huge bay for a big battery and plenty of smart hardware.
and what about the TBS Caipirinha II? Do you think it's a good one? For filming with a flying wing i think it is one of the best! But I can't tall cause i'm not yet in the world of flying wings...
Out of these listed, what do you think you would most likely recommend to someone less experienced with small, faster type aircraft? I've got some experience with a trainer I (crudely) scratch built, but now I'm interested in getting a smaller, lighter wing that I can toss in a bag and fly anywhere. So far I've been eyeing the T1 Ranger, ARC Dolphin, and the ZOHD Drift. I'd initially be flying LOS, but I plan to get some FPV gear this summer if that helps narrow it down.
Thanks for the content! I have a Arc dolphin thanks to you and loved that model but I got it stuck in a tree and damaged the frame getting it out, I'm upgrading to the 1200mm Mars FPV plane that looks like a upgraded dolphin. I hope you get one and do a review soon!
I think the scales are a brilliant addition, maybe give them a value then add them up for a overall score then its easy to compare in the future. Stay safe Lee
after years of moving through the hobby always with your content showing up miraculously perfect timed to what I get interested in, right now I wonder when a printed wing model will show up ? Since light weight pla available its really fascinating me. A bit more work involved like in the old days.
Ive been following your channel for about 6 months.....and I love the knowledge you are providing
@5:20 - Atom RC Dolphin
@7:20 - Heewing Ranger T1
@10:13 - Diatone Ripper / Heewing F01
@12:41 AR Wing Pro
Check out a more recent version of the video, the choices have changed... Happy flying

Lee, sincere thanks for the time you’ve invested in your videos, great advice- honest and objective commentary. You are a gent

Where it belongs sad to say. I crashed mi e 3 times and then sold it off.

See my setup and maiden video. I'd strongly suggest using INAV. ;)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on what you are currently flying!

Yep, helps with heat. Happy flying
Hi, I’m interested in the atomic dolphin. What is the average flight time with the recommended battery and motor? Could you fly it in a soccer field or does it need more space?
Depends on flying style and battery used. Over 30 mins is pretty easy...
I love the t1 ranger I just wish the tail was more easy collapse able for transporting.
Can you clear my doubt?
Is the lift on the drak to enhance diving? Can you give me a advice or tip for a good responsive wing for mountain fpv?
I really appreciate your attention, thanks!
Draks are beautiful flyers but very expensive. See my favourite 4 planes video for my top picks - ruclips.net/video/voHJ-VDGi4I/видео.html
I need to rebuild my zohd orbit, but was thinking of what’s a good choice is for carrying a full size gopro without the nose or other parts in the way of the video
Check out the Dolphin or ARWingPRO...
Thanks so much - very valuable practical information

None of the models are loud. See my videos on wings like the E-wings Blackhawk and the Ritewing Mini Drak for models that scream! Happy flying!

A great wing but very expensive. Draks are amazing too. Just too much to fly on anything but a perfect day... Happy flying
it'd be nice to have links in description.
so we can easily find it to purchase it.
Links in the videos listed. Happy flying

ruclips.net/video/OaKqAng-BVE/видео.html will help. Things like a Bixler/Skywalker is a good first 'plane..
Great video, thank you!
What battery do you use with the Dolphin? I don’t think the marked cg is correct.
CG is correct. I have several packs I use in it for different flying styles and durations.. Happy flying

I have one on the way!
Awesome! I can't wait to see your build of that plane. Its fast even on 4s and can carry a huge battery
What's your opinion of durability of atomrc seal?
Very good. See my full review. I'm still on my first one here and it has had the heck flown out of it (and a number of 'nasty' landings too!)
I think the scales are a brilliant addition, maybe give them a value then add them up for a overall score then its easy to compare in the future. Stay safe Lee
More videos like this!!! ❤️. Thanks 🙏 Lee! Next video- slow fun 🤩 flyers 😂
Which one is the most stable for video footage in your opinion ?? thanks
Filming, I use the AR Wing PRO or Dolphin if I want smooth..
It's the HEEWing Ranger T-1 capable of carry a gopro fly stable?
Something as heavy as a GoPro would be a little too much. Something like the AR Wing PRO or Dolphin is better for that..
Will there be an update for 2024?
There was a 2023 edition. Next will be in July...
after years of moving through the hobby always with your content showing up miraculously perfect timed to what I get interested in, right now I wonder when a printed wing model will show up ?

Craycle makes one
Great video, I would love to get into FPV but can't afford it
amazing video!
Nice info... Thanks for sharing ;)
Ha ha, I was going to ask . Question answered , thanks . Take care.
I love the use of the scale. Makes things easy!
Great… there goes another $300, thanks a lot.
😂
Excellent list, Lee! Thanks a lot! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
It would be nice to have the money to have a plane for every mood.
If you are careful, you only need a few as many can fill lots of roles these days.
your honor can you help me please
I need your gmail
