I started RC planes with nitro powered control line planes that we called BATs. Might start flying next week when my bro comes up from San Diego to WA.
I'm certainly old enough to remember those nitro control line planes. My Dad had one of those. He also had a couple of non-control line nitro planes. When I was a kid all of them were nitro powered and they just used batteries for the receivers and servos. Things are so much easier now ;-)
Wondering if it can take a larger prop, or if the motor can be replaced by, let's say, a 2216 1400kv so I can use a 7" prop for less noise. Mine is in customs right now so should arrive this week, ish. Got the RTH version. Only need to install a vtx and RX.
I don't think it will have any problem spinning a 7" prop. I just had mine out again this morning conducting test flights after a bad crash. It's a tough little wing ;-)
Well damn... I received my Theer Bat finally. Ordered the RTH version from the CH warehouse and also an extra F405 Navi Mini. Guess what...: they sent me the unassembled PNP version and didn't include my extra f405 Navi Mini. And they are not responding on my emails or in the chat on their website. Money spent was about twice the amount of the item I received. Weird way of doing business... Truly pissed. The FC isn't even pre configured. Wtf AtomRC...
@@GroundControlRC I'm in the EU. They have a warehouse there, but the RTH is only available from the CH warehouse. Only got half my money spent worth on a product. No response from AtomRC. So maybe someone ff'd up big time and they're scrambling faulty orders, or they just don't give a flying fudge about their customers and did a quick money grab with that RTH version. Really weird they're not responding in anyway at all.

@@GroundControlRC good to know it's tough. It's going to need it, not that experienced with wings 😇

@@FATSNAIL-FPV Oh Man! Not good! Sounds like someone fumbled the ball.
I thought they had a USA warehouse?
Are you outside the USA?

I crashed mine at 150kph the weekend🙈😂. Little bit of hot glue and its good again, very surprised how well it held together.
Ouch! I'm surprised it wasn't a total loss at that speed. I haven't performed my durability test yet....but I'm sure I will ;-)
