Have you tried ELRS out yet? You can get a module for your tx16s, and the receivers are cheap as chips. With the benefits of more range than you ever need, telemetry and rock solid performance, I'm surprised you haven't dipped your toe in yet? I dont need timers anymore, although I do still set a countdown on my radio, my voltage reading is just a press on a momentary switch away, or a voice prompt from my radio at 3.7v per cell. Im sold on them, plus dual frequency 900/2.4 is on the horizon too.

No doubt it's the future for radios.
I'll probably get the module and RX at some point.

I published (2) videos related to my setup.
      (1) with the stock board and one with my MODs.
They are in the playlist and provide all the info needed to setup on any programmable transmitter.

Since you don't have manual mode with the stock TX I'm not sure.

@@FoolSendRC You've said it has tons of power, and watching you fly it SEEMS to have excellent, strong rudder response that is de-coupled from roll...meaning 1) when you mash the rudder you get lots of yaw and 2) when you mash the rudder you DON'T get roll. If what I described there seems accurate based on your flight experience with it, how can it not knife edge??
