EA selling themself off will be the epitome of irony after almost 2 decades of cannibalizing small devs and abusing the acquired IPs with awful monetization practices, buggy games and lackluster sequels. I hope whoever buying would treat the IP with more care and respect they deserve.

    • @OGSumo
      @OGSumo 2 года назад +14

Out of anyone, EA had the most reasons to be invested in making their own IPs good, but they weren’t. I doubt that new management would care more than EA did, as they have even less of an emotional connection (if corporations can even have emotions) due to being new. Plus they need that quick ROI to offset the newly purchased company. Maybe I’m just being overly pessimistic though.
I personally wish the best for respawn and battlefield especially, as I think they still have promise, but I doubt they will get what they need.

    • @Skullet

It's a matter of interpretation. I'm sure a lot of new computers were sold during the pandemic as people transitioned to working from home, you also had a bunch of people buying new computers as it was often the only way to get a new GPU. None of that was driven by Windows 11 or anything Microsoft did, but I'm sure they won't have any trouble taking credit for it as we are seeing here. Meanwhile back here in reality a large chunk of the worlds population probably doesn't know Windows 11 exists as it's largely a non event, the rest likely don't care.

I'm excited of the new age of CPUs, the competition between companies became more and more intense. I'm expecting a great leap in chip technologies in the near future!
edit: bruh why the reply section so negative, just because its slower compared to 2 decades ago, we can't say its not more competitive than 10 to 5 years ago (which is the dark age of intel monopoly, and now its ONLY the start of the intense competition in the market that are not monopolized or duopolized by big companies! the more competition the better the progress!). nano architecture has limits and by just adding workarounds like cpu bondings is not that easy either. if we can integrate new techniques not just getting the nanometers smaller to improve our computing power isn't that great? its a progress that can help humanity as a whole!
don't be a huge jackass belittling people just because you have some knowledge of history, we need to look forward not backwards. Furthermore, not all people can enjoy the rights to technology like you guys in the first world countries. we in the third world countries always got the backwards techs that are atleast 1-2 to years late just until a few years ago (heck gameboy started to be in fashion in the year 2008-2010 ish and nintendo ds in 2014 in my country, its like almost a decade behind). I just upgraded my Laptop and Desktop to Windows 11 and I HATE the fact that open applications HAVE to be grouped and cannot be split into separate groups without using a 3rd party app. It is so frustrating that it is actually a deal breaker if they don't fix it soon. I'll just uninstall Windows 11 and re-install Windows 10. What a stupid change that breaks my productivity.

Please...DON'T dual boot Linux and Winturd worlds from the same physical storage drive. Please. Preserve your sanity. Keep them installed on SEPARATE drives.
There are sooo many ridiculous variables you'll need to account for in the proper order and even then..a winturd update STILL ( yes..even if you disable secure boot and fast boot both from within Winturd and your uefi/bios ...BEFORE even installing the Linux distro of choice) brick your ability to boot into the Linux distro as well as mess with Grub - most common Linux boot loader-
Tying into that point, Windows boot loader and LInux grub still don't play nicely together. One always tries to overwrite the other.
I know it's tedious to recommend what I'm saying, but also don't have both drives connected while booting up either. keep one disconnected.
This will guarantee that winturd wo'nt mess up your Linux world and vice versa so You can swim in the shallow or deep end of Linux as you wish. Then, when you inevitably might need a mental break and want to go back to Windows...It's not a problem. Power down the machine properly, disconnect the Linux drive, reconnect the windows drive. power it back on.
Legit, I'm hoping to speak encouraging vibes to ya. I left winturd to rot in the past 100% July 28 2020 with Linux Mint Cinnamon and couldn't be happier ( been using it for 11 years and gradually baby stepping towards moving on from Windows)
      forums.linuxmint.com is your friend.
kadaitchaman, smg, rene, AndyMH, Xenopeek, all41 and SOOOO many others are on that site daily or every other day and are pretty fast to help and help well.
inxi -Fxxxrz = also your friend. get comfy posting the results of that command if you seek help at that forum. It saves much time and speculation but doesn't give away any personally identifiable info about your setup either.
      Cheers.

    You don't need a 4k display.
You don't need HDR 1000 certified screen
You don't need bluetooth audio (quality sucks compared with wired)
You don't need 64gb or ram
You don't need an expensive mouse + keyboard
    You need a good chair
    An easy desk,
You don't need to overclock because then you need better cooling + expensive boards + your electricity bill is going to be higher. I did watercooling to have a silent system not to have a flaming fast system that works as a heater. Although overclocking and seeing those high benchmark scores do make you feel giddy in the beginning :D
