We’re picking our Model Y up this coming Friday. InvCanada compared to the USA these cars are much more expensive ( as are gas cars here) even our incentive for government rebate is $5000 CDN whereas I have seen in some states it’s up to $7000 USD which would be well over 8500 CDN Regardless for us it was a no brainer as we’d save on gas and the hassle of filling up all the time. Since we still own a gas powered vehicle we’ll have the best of both worlds 😊Can’t wait to fully experience all it has to offer once it’s ours. Thank you for all the informative videos, it truly helps people who are new to not only Tesla but to EV’s 😊
My 2023 model y performance gets 180 miles from 90% to 15% in the summer and now it's getting 130 miles. So no where near the claimed epa. Regardless, it's the best car I've owned. So fast and smooth. It's a beast in the rain and snow too. It's just a really fun car to drive.
@@lupusrexstudio7327 The battery is fine and I'm not flooring it. I just preheat the car for 5 mins before work and then drive 10 miles and same on the return trip. Also MYPs on reddit have shared the same range.
I am seeing similar result as well. It is no where close to the marketing talk. Tesla recommended to keep the battery between 20 and 80%. This means at 80%, the car has a range of roughly 180 miles. This is bad enough, but in reality, when you factor in heat use in the winter, I have not exceed 150 miles range yet. I drive very conservatively and has the car on Chill btw. I love most things about this car and enjoy driving it, but the useable range is a joke. Yes, it is still better than many other EVs, I get that. But that doesn't make it a not a joke when it comes to driving range.
There’s definitely something external going on here. Either you’re driving extremely aggressively, there’s something wrong with your car, or you’re overstating the problem. I have the same car same year and I get way more mileage than that.
I have a '23 Shanghai Model Y P with the "comfort suspension". Its ride is superb - comfortable, absorbs speed bumps effortlessly, rough roads are a non-event. Has great handling when pushed. Maybe the US comfort suspension is different supplier/spec? Be interested to know what Berlin made Y P owners think.
Nice presentation. I don't own a Tesla yet, but did test drive a MY a couple months ago. Being a techie, I got right into it, and after a few miles felt right at home. One thing I'd do is migrate my simple HUD unit from my old VW (which has a lying speedo) over to the Tesla. I'm used to watching that for my speed. Tesla should have one IMO with the option of turning it off it someone doesn't want it. Next, is no one talks about AUX power outlets! Where are they? I'll need one for my HUD for sure, and another for my heated coffee cup, another for my portable refrigerator when I need that, etc. What about a built-in power inverter? Many cars got one these days. Maybe I want to use my power hungry laptop and need to plug in the power brick. I'm sure I can think of more stuff.
Thanks, informative video. Since you have both a long range and performance, what is the difference in ride quality? Specifically the suspension. Thanks.
The ride quality difference in my experience between the Long Range and the Performance is marginal. The Long Range has the slight edge and that's due to the smaller wheel and thicker tires. My Long Range has the 19" wheels and my Performance has the 21". Both suspensions are firm. Even the new "comfort suspension" Tesla has dubbed is firm. If you want the performance I say go for it. You can always buy a different set of wheels & tires. I made an in-depth video comparing the two. You can check it out here!: ruclips.net/video/RYrzf7eMlgY/видео.html
Nice video and warm regards. Seems Tesla has not link to CarPlay but manages in accordance with your video, several options of premium audio. How then hands free phone calls and which sound platform comes with the Y vehicles ? Is there an iPhone recognition from the car system and download its app ? All the best and thanks again Matt
? I bought a MYP this month and the interest rate from Tesla through FI connect was 6.5 for excellent credit, just as reflected on their site. These complaints shouldn't go towards Tesla anyway but rather the Fed since they set the rate. Elon has complained about the rate publicly many times, as have numerous others.

Well my test why has 330 mile range is only one hangup you lose 4 miles a day parked it’s called Phantom loss of range. What have they done to fix that?
A federal investigation into Tesla's optimistic range estimates was launched last year. The result of that probe is lower EPA range estimates for most of Tesla's lineup. Many people could never have achieved the old EPA range estimates in Teslas. The EPA has just cut the official range estimates for the Model S, Model Y, and Model X, reflecting a more accurate range that can be achieved in a Tesla.
Its more affordable because project uniper is around the corner. Si it might be as well the worst ass much as the best reason to buy one rather way its a good car
If you don’t do something about the battery and recharging quickly, Price doesn’t mean anything the big problem is how long it takes to recharge the battery that’s a big big big problem
I don’t think the vast majority of owners have a problem with charging because you just charge when you get home and you have a “full tank” ready to go in the morning. Now if you have a bunch of errands to run all across town, going from one end of town to the other (especially in the wintertime), it is not a pleasurable experience. You’d certainly have to stop and waste your time supercharging on the go. It’s not as bad for roadtrips because you’d have to stop anyway for snacks, bathroom, etc.
Maurice how is it a big big big problem that at this very moment as I lay in bed, my tesla will charge itself back up to 4/5 full for like three dollars? And if I drive around 260 miles away tomorrow I can charge it at a supercharger to have enough miles to get back home in like 15 minutes?
Yeah the Model Y's suspension is quite firm (even the "comfort suspension" Y'). I heard the new Model 3's are better than the previous generation but still not nearly as good as other cars in its class :(
I would be surprised if the MY isn't updated in months, and with same perks as the M3. The Chinese are picky with old technology and German Tesla sales are dropping. Tesla must update and lower their prices and ultimately release the M2.
The new model 3 is amazing, but remember use cases. Families with small kids, will definitely prefer a taller car for easy loading. Additionally, right now with the $7500 tax credit, the MY LR is CHEAPER than the new Model 3
