  • The Lincoln University Board of Curators Thursday announced the findings of a weeks-long independent investigation that surrounded the death of Dr. Antoinette "Bonnie" Candia-Bailey, who died by suicide on January 8.
In a letter to University students, alumni, employees, and other stakeholders, the Board acknowledged the tragic loss of Dr. Candia-Bailey, saying in part, "This tragedy has forced us to grapple more fully with issues facing Lincoln and our students and employees - ranging from mental health support to employee work and relationships."
After emails from Candia-Bailey surfaced near the day she took her own life, citing University President Dr. John Moseley as causing "enough harm and mental damage," Lincoln University's Board of Curators hired an independent third-party investigator to review any personnel issues and concerns raised.
According to the letter, The Lewis Rice LLC reviewed text messages, internal University policies, memos, and documentation - and held dozens of hours of interviews with 24 Lincoln University employees and leaders over two weeks. They delivered the investigation results to the Board of Curators on March 8.
The letter states, "no evidence was found that Dr. Moseley bullied Dr. Candia-Bailey," and that "University leaders - and President Moseley himself - all confirmed that his communication style can be described as direct."

Another adult bully that got away with it...
Hope the family has enough resources to sue the stink out of the university! What a slap in the face...

I have no faith that they are going to do anything of any substance. They're "working on" things but "have to do more". Give me a break!! It's telling to me that they have a student on the BOC and that student voted against bringing Moseley back. smh

They did a full investigation and found nothing wrong. Furthermore they seem to have made genuine attempts to communicate with the student community. This man being interviewed seems very professional and a leader!
