What's most heartbreaking about this scene is that the Murphys haven't had a single encounter with the Guilty Remnant before, so Evie's behavior is entirely foreign to Erika. The residents of Mapleton (and we the audience) were given slow, steady doses of the GR's nihilistic ideology over the course of a full season, and so we know how impossibly difficult it is to de-program the GR out of their ways. When Erika runs to embrace her daughter, it's played like a dramatic reunion between mother and child, but we already know that Evie is a completely lost cause, and the girl on that bridge is just husk of who she once was. Tremendous scene.
I love the subtlety of having Evie avoid her moms eyes as much as possible. Even though she’s given everything up to be in the guilty remnants it’s hard to stare your past in the face
There so many good ones but I have to agree. My jaw was on the floor. The music and taking out the dialogue so the viewer could feel the emotions they actions and expressions was powerful,
I cried so much watching this the first time. The score and Regina kings acting. She was trying to connect to a daughter who is lost to her. Season 2 is one of my favorite seasons of television ever.
Reliving some of the many powerful scenes in the Leftovers...God, this one still gave me the chills. I remember the first time I watched this, a tear or two was shed.
In an interview, the actress who was her daughter confessed that she started bleeding to her chest from the intensive poking from her mother’s finger in this particular scene
When she started signing to Evie I started crying. We only saw one small glimpse of Erika teaching her how to sign in the beginning of the season, but it was implied how important sign language is to their bond.
I haven't seen the movie she has been nominated for the Oscars... But I would just give it to her blindly because of this scene, eventhough it's not a movie.

Still coming back after all these years for the best scene ever in television.

Exactly! It's small details like that that shows the GR are still human and not just mindless cultists.
This is it. This is the scene where Damon Lindelof says: I want her. I want Regina King to be in my Watchmen.
She's crazy talented, both as an actor and a director.
When she runs down the bridge and all you can hear are the echoing bells in the score... those few seconds are pure chills.
The best scene in the whole series.
I keep saying the same thing on every scene I watch on here.. There's so many best scenes ever in this show it's crazy!

Regina King owned that scene.
Those 1:43 mins are all her.
It's absolutely overwhelming every single time.

One of the best scenes in television history.
Great acting! I teared up on that one. That is how I felt when my daughter was on drugs. Totally helpless.
God, this show had some of the best acting and writing in television history.
The season 2 finale was emotionally devastating with scenes like this. The score just makes it all the more intense
Reliving some of the many powerful scenes in the Leftovers...God, this one still gave me the chills. I remember the first time I watched this, a tear or two was shed.
en menos de dos minutos y sin hablar, es impresionante todas las emociones que se expresan en esa escena
that violin.. gets me everytime
That is the best moment in season 2

Heartbroken

Juan Le Garcon she won
Thank you. I really get irritated when people say ‘give him/her an oscar for this’ in a series.
Regina King gigante
I want the scene when the girl take the baby of Nora and run
I don't know how they will top season 2
wizDom 1 they just did in my opinion with an epic art of a final season.
Regina King goodness
