Losing them to departure is so much worse than death, beacause she just doesn't know. She wakes up every day thinking ''what if they come back today'', and nothing happens, and then another day begins, all the days before giving more weight to the posibility they will never come back, yet the posibility never dies, just like her kids. this must be a level of torment we could only imagine feeling it.
