Amen brother, this show has set a bar so high, that it makes all my other shows i love seem trivial! I miss poor aul Patti though ha! Thanks for clipping this particular version of Max Richters tune, i was humming it for weeks!
Just watched this tv show to the end tonight. It stopped me from killing myself. I wasn't aware that such beautiful television still existed. I was in awe. I will watch this show again with my family tomorrow. Thank you for saving my life.
I believe it saved me as well. Very dark period of my life. This show, and it's music, opened up the portals to years of grief, pain and trauma, then helped it run out and begin some healing. I listen to the music every day. It carries me through. To us, we're still here......
The subject matter, the acting, direction, the script, the writing and mostly the music - a visual triumph never seen before on this scale, truly the golden age of television
It is great that Max Richter went with more classic orchestration for this theme as it conveys a sense of cosmic drama. This show is so amazing, artfully touching on many existential themes. That's why it annoys me when people just want to talk about how hot Justin Theroux is.
Just watched this episode last night and the music in this scene is absolutely brilliant! Couldn't get this scene/score out of my head all day and I've had to come on here and see if I'm not the only one... and I'm not! Episode 2 tonight! Even though I'm not very clued in on biblical references as I'm not much of a religious person, I've still found this series amazing. The acting is absolutely top!
Hans Zimmer grew fond of minimalism. He wants to use "simple" notes for very complex, haunting music now. Like, well, Max Richter did for his life. Doesn't mean anyone is better or worse, it's art, of course. Just means we have another minimalism bro, yay! Besides, i have to think on Zack Hemsey's "I'll Find A Way" while listening to the Interstellar score!
Max Richter wrote a tune very like this called "Twins/Prague" years ago, i remember listening to it when i was about 17 learning how to drive, I'm 29 now, and I'm proud to say, I learned how to drive.....bet you thought this story was going somewhere didnt you!? Fools
I think they may have done something sneaky here and showed the final scene of the Leftovers in the first episode. Imagine this is the epilogue to a book...seems like an ending to me.
If you want the full song, it's called "And Know the Place for the. First Time" by Max Richter - available here: ruclips.net/video/BYf3z0VTbZs/видео.html One of the best orchestral shorts ever written
Why were the vocals removed? I liked the inclusion of them. It was good music and i liked the transition. For those curious, the vocals were called “Sign of the Judgement” by an African group.
are u a wizard? I like ur modesty, but it sounds incredible imo. bravo!

Dramas mostly have an extra channel for voice because of dubbing that can be found on dvds. That way other contries can easily mute this channel and voice it in their language with no need to recreate and remix all the sounds.
Because she wanted to be forget so no one would know if she was still alive or missing. She said that at the ending of first season on a letter to Kevin.
elpotopov this was posted right after this episode premiered. He removed the vocals because so many fans were asking for this particular piece of music and it wasn’t available yet. He delivered the raw score for us.
SO MUCH better than that AWFUL Season 2 theme. It is a huge Improvment even though the Season 1 theme is still my favourite and shows what an AMAZING and GIFTED composer Max Richter is. :-D
Hands down the best show on Earth!
Holy Wayne, granting everyone's unspoken wishes for a copy of this track. Thanks man!
i tried my best still not 100% background noise removal but i guess it will do until an album release ;) or someone does better :D!
really nice job, buddy!
Wayne Mc I think i love you! thank you a lot! a the leftovers fan here from Venezuela

I can't stop listening to this tune. Absolute chills.
Never underestimate the gravitas and power of the horn section!!
indeed
This is the only show that managed to connect with me on a level that only Lost managed to do in the past! Masterpiece of the television era.
This music...wow. Just wow, wow, wow. 🤗
Brilliant, well done - that treatment of the theme sent chills down my spine watching it. Best TV show of the decade.
Love "The Departure" theme, but i especially love this arrangement at the end of S3E1. The swelling brass moment always enraptures me.
This was the scene where this show went from amazing to epic
Max Richter did it again!
AMEN to that Sudev. Max ROCKS! :-D
AMEN

Nice job man! I've been searching for this for about 2 days!
Right? I wish HBO releases it soon. It's so haunting.
Fucking Powerful ending. Suttle but deep. Kudos to the music the score for enhancing the scene.
The season 3 soundtrack is out!!! This is the last song, song #5, "And Know the Place For the First Time"
And know the place for the first time.
This is it! Thank you
Max Richter has been hanging out with Hans Zimmer, lol.

lmfao, you're funny. Both have been wishing they could hang out with Philip Glass.
I love Richter, Glass and Zimmer, each for his own merits, my original post was written in jest.
the best show on tv.
I think I'm in love with this show.
Damn now I’m about to watch the whole show for the 5th time
I think they may have done something sneaky here and showed the final scene of the Leftovers in the first episode. Imagine this is the epilogue to a book...seems like an ending to me.
1:28 onwards ;) who's with me!
Wayne Mc chills...that moment gives ya chills. Doesnt it?!
Jamais j'ai entendu une musique de série aussi bien
As close as you could get to the original masterpiece series Twin Peaks
Amazing
that scene ... opened so much shit from so many cans ... i'd rather it wouldn't go where we probably all think it will go.

So folks, it's "And Know the Place For the First Time" by genius Max Richter.
"and Know the place for the first time"
Fucking goosebumps
Prekrasno
This iste reason that I am paying HBO, to see the serie again an again
I'm ready to buy this epic song. Anyone know where to ? Or when it'll be available ?
Thanks! Great work on cleaning up the song. When the horn section begins, I get chills. Greatness! Now, how do I record this??
kevin is snoke.
fuck... *exhales*

This particularly beautifully haunting piece by Max Richter - does anyone know what it is called, and is it available separately to buy or download?

Is it just me or does the lady at the end look like Nora?
Michael Capper It is Nora....in the future.
So do we know how is this called now?
What this song is named? I need to find it.
its Max Richter Unfortunately the Album for season 3 hasn't been released yet so we dont have an official version or its name. :(
Wayne Mc so we have to wait week or so after the 10th episode, thx for heads up
only 8 episodes this season so not even that long hopefully!
Wayne Mc good point, fingers crossed
So does the departure happen again or......
Why did she change her name to Sara?
Because she wanted to be forget so no one would know if she was still alive or missing. She said that at the ending of first season on a letter to Kevin.
I wish I looked like Justin Theroux
Haha but this guy is not the same man with beard on
why did you have to remove the vocals?
