Hi I've been looking for ages to find the right paper and right colour pencils to draw with and i think it's been sitting right in front of me I've got clairefontaine pastelmat and i have Faber-Castell polychromos as well but i never thought you can you colour pencils on pastelmat I've tried it and so far it works just done something small
I'm just starting to look at pastelmat as an option for my drawings but was put off when i keep reading the need for solvents...you seem to manage without ? Or do you use them also?
You definitely don't need solvents. I've never used solvents with my Pastelmat work. As you layer it up it becomes smoother and blends beautifully. I have done entire pieces just blending with my pencils, other times I use a dry cotton bud (q-tip) to to blend out my under layers.
@@brusheswithbec well I'm literally just sat here about to start a pet portrait on pastelmat so I'll see how I do! I usually use pastels so this is 1st time with colour pencils.
Looks lovely already, can't wait for the rest.
So glad to find you. I too always come back to painting Birds . I've been using Pastelmat the last few months. you are helping and inspiring me
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I really appreciate it, I'm so glad to know that my videos are providing multiple benefits to others.
Lobe your bird videos.
