      A lot of times when English is not one's first language, that's something that helps them reinforce words and sentence structure. By repeating or completing. I'm sure he has a lot of self belief but it's also helping him learn the language better.

      The bar never is steady even if you are just holding 135..you need to do the movement more then you can make some muscle memory to stable the bar for pressing.

    Khalid has came a long way as far as his personality, I remember the first few times he was on Larry’s channel, he was very serious and you can see how competitive he was and now he sees Larry is a good guy giving him and many others exposure and just trying to help others. Khalid has embraced that and you see him giving compliments left and right now which is great.

      Apparently he was always a really nice and friendly guy (according to all the people around him at the time), it just wasn't really translating on camera. The situations were often a bit tense and competitive and whatnot. I think he's likely become more sociable and comfortable with cameras and stuff, though. But yea people seem to be going way overboard with their assessment of the guy based on some videos.

      @@Siberius- We aren’t going overboard, we are saying exactly what we seen. He was very quiet and serious and very competitive with everything like he couldn’t accept a loss at all. He has just grown as a person and opened himself up to Larry and many others, there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s a great thing. I don’t doubt one bit he has always been a great person, he just wasn’t open to showing it around a bunch of other competitive grown men like he does now.

Plenty of others however (especially at the time), were/are under the impression that he was this complete asshole of a human who was not to be trusted in the presence of other people.

      @@gojensonngenetics don't play a big role as a natural unless you have some form of a disability else maybe 20kg more in bench or 30kg at best if we say the guy with average genetics can do 120kg bench naturally that is and steriods make anyone no matter what stronger then any natural if done correctly with propper trainng and nutrition how long is a question but 3 years of using PEDs correctly and you should always be able to bench close to 150kg at least if everything is done right no matter how shit genetics you have

    While watching Khalid Doing 150, I can see a lot of Power. He only has to train properly for 3-4 Weeks on his technique and then his Bnech will be around 180-200

      his legs was not planted to the ground and middle section was lose on the bench....its crazy. i north Sweden we got one farmer bench 140kilo first time he was 19 years old...but looked like 35 y =D some people are different. ( strange thing with the strong farmer, he started train but he did not like to use his power, hi train light weights for 1 year then started to diet for his wedding...never sa him again.)

      @@larrytate1657 ,lol, if you are on steroids and you benchpress only 315, you either have sh*tiest genetics or you know nothing about training. It took me 6 months of serious training to get to 225 (at 187 bodyweight).

      He’s definitely trained with weights or body weight as he was getting trained for mma etc also he has a high body weight

      @@truths1256 - body weight training doesn't get you strong in weight training, plus I've seen plenty of high body weight people at the gym who struggle or can't even do 84kg, let alone 150kg. The guy is just a genetic freak.

      @@1neomonkey to an extent he is a freak but I think probably 30% males have this potential mate. high rep push-ups before ever stepping in the gym gave me 100kg bench my first time before I was 17 at 81kg. I am far from a freak I would consider just above average.

      His insane grip strength will lend itself to back day as well. A lot of lifters who continue with it for years+ will experience their back exceeding their grip, and that's why straps were designed.

      Why would he bench all that weight to his neck and almost injure his shoulders on every rep if he knew how to bench? Ever heard of Francis Ngannou from the UFC? He said the same thing about Cameroon, there’s massive guys everywhere. They are the best African players in the nba right now too.

    Whether or not this was actually his first bench session or not, you can tell he's relatively new too it just by his bar path. Regardless he obviously has insane potential to accel at anything he sets his mind to in the strength world.

      His bar path was pretty much on point, the touch point on his chest is always the same from empty bar to 150kg, hand placement never changed and was carefully aimed at EVERY time. That's not how first time benchers do the bench press. He is bullshitting and I don't know why because 150kg BP is nothing to sneeze at anyway. Probably because Larry is a true outlier and anybody benching with him will seem weak but this way it's like bro my first time, yeah right first time that day...

      @@purpsmoke4203 He arched when shit got really heavy and planted his feet initiating the leg drive. As you progress the bench you can do lower than max weights without arching like crazy and yes even without feet even touching the floor.
      I did Larsen presses with 225 when my best was 265 so if I want to play I could easily fool you into thinking I pushed 300 on my first every bench press day. That's BS.
      No new lifter aims hand placement like that and has that consistent touch point on his chest with super steady movement and bomb diving the weights, period.
      You forgot how you were when you were new but I often taught people how to bench press powerlifting style over the years and can very well tell new lifters from experienced ones. Larry is just being respectful as always about it but he knew too 100%

      Apparently he was always a really nice and friendly guy (according to all the people around him at the time), it just wasn't really translating on camera. The situations were often a bit tense and competitive and whatnot. I think he's likely become more sociable and comfortable with cameras and stuff, though. But yea people seem to be going way overboard with their assessment of the guy based on some videos.

    I am sure he's never done the bench press just looking at his form and technique but that doesn't mean to say he hasn't done press ups or other chest movements. That's probably why we don't see his hands shaking/ wobbling and he is naturally a monster but that being said doing 150kg on the bench first time regardless if you done other chest movements is insane there is a huge part of the population probably 80% who will train a life time and won't ever reach that. unreal. Larry would be good if you asked if he has done other chest exercises so people stop hating

      well, it's like only 20% heavier than his bodyweight. Plus great genetics. Kinda slam dunk. I've seen people bench press 2 plates on their first day, and their bodyweight was around 80kg.

      Well he sure did some pushing movements, if not before then for his mma training
      I started with push ups, after few months I joined the gym and bench pressed 100kg @80kg bw
      Actually it is funny, now after few months in the gym I didn't actually get that much stronger at bench, few reps only. Don't know but it feels like I had more progress in my strength while doing push ups.

    I like that he’s finally showing a proper warm up before bench. You have no idea how many people think it’s just shoulders they need to warm up, when in reality the back is the most important before a bench session. I usually do 4 to 5 sets of 12 to 15 reps of light back to get warmed up, about 1 minute to 2 of rest in between.

    So a lot of people without a lot of benching experience won’t catch this but I’ve been benching for 26 years and a first time benched doesn’t line his fingers up religiously side to side to ensure hand placement is the same on the bar. Khalid is doing this from the first time he lays down on the bench. I’ve helped lots of people who have never benched or have very little experience and not a single one has ever lined up their fingers against the rings.

      he does take that grip religiously in armwrestling too without knowing what he does.... i have learned many armwrestlers and nobody did that except one, and that one was an extrem genetic freak like Khaled, uncle was olympic wrestler.
