The more i analyze Khaled and the more i look into him, i realize that its very hard to believe that he doesnt lift weights or had previous training. His chest is huge, his traps are huge, shoulders huge, back huge, and your'e telling me this is natural where he is from? if thats the case then all those camaroon guys would be world class. Also a lot of people are coming up with the idea that he is a bad sport because of the way he carries himself in front of the camera and his constant smirking. You dont see him laughing and smiling all that much. Yes the matches are serious, and everyone takes it serious, but they all have a good time, and Khaled portrays the image that he is not. With all this being said, I'm still a huge fan of Khaled and cant wait to see how far he goes. And before anyone over-analyzes what i said, i dont mean for it to be taken negatively, its just my opinion mainly.
Ever seen Francis Ngannou the mma fighter? These dudes grow up working in sand mines or other hard (Pretty much Slave) labor for generations. Think about the genetics.
he's been training for some months at larry's gym, for a gifted person that's enough to build some serious mass. and i'm sure he also developed phisically as a mechanic too
How do you feel about his refusal to go to the straps? This is why people think he’s a bad sportsman, it was because of this that schoolboy ended up injured, Alex also mentioned that schoolboy was still capable of going more matches, but Khaled refused after his first win.
Dev's just tryna put over guys coming up & also wants to help poorer nations. He truly is doing everything he can to be a WORLD ambassador. So if it means overlooking some stuff for what he feels could be the greater good, I'm sure he'll do it... altho I agree with you - personally not a fan of Awa for these reasons. Dev should, as a proper mentor, teach him etiquette I agree
this just proves that Awa knows more than he's leading on. he knew he had a stronger hand than School boy and purposefully did not go into the strap because of that.
Thanks Devon this needed to be said, way to many folks calling Khaled for no reason. He is new to the sport, was working in a car yard from a poor country, give him a break! He will work out the rules and how to interact with judges, opponents etc...Good luck Khaled can't wait to see your Arm again!
@jimrayner100 i’ve never seen sb lose before in any of his videos of him beating big guys back to back to back. He’s used to pulling many ppl, one person that gave him no challenge is not going to fatigue him, and they pulled with the hand he didn’t pull larry with. This was amazing to watch sb lose for the first time in years. When you take into account that Khaled hasn’t been pulling very long, I don’t see how everyone wasn’t draw jobbed
Could that not just mean he lied about having no arm wrestle experience? Same with no weight training ,he clearly works out with weights in some way , repairing cars does not give you that biceps. This does not mean he is not incredible gifted physically
his grip comes from his work mostly but he definitely works out. Nobody is born 250lbs muscle. Of course the Cameroon genetics are also a big plus. Ngannou is from there as well and he is also a beast. But its not just genetics. He looks like he has done arm wrestling before.

I think there’s a little extra context that adds to khaled being a bad sportsman, it’s definitely not just this match, you can tell any time he’s been beat in the past, even when Devon was in Dubai and pulled him, he gets unreasonably pissed when he loses, it’s fine to go into a match thinking you can beat everyone, that’s a good way to hype yourself up, but don’t take losing so badly. Maybe he’s not so much a bad sportsman but he is a very very sore loser for sure. Also he seems to be a sore winner too, his match with schoolboy was supposed to be a super match but khaled backed out after winning this first round, which seems kinda iffy if you ask me. Anyways certainly he is incredibly strong but I think he needs to just control his temper, it’s fine to be a beast on the table however you should also try to be a likeable person off the table For anyone who wants some evidence of this go to Larry wheels video titles “The strongest man you’ve never heard of” and at about 10 minutes in Larry defeats Khaled and he takes it really badly he accuses Devon of calling the match too soon and is clearly just super agitated about it

well this just might be the first time i disagree with you Devon. Awa might be super strong but he didn't just drop out of the womb like that the way he wants everyone to think. im not sure hes being honest about his training background. The guy has definitely been training for most of his life to get to this point and doing all the "other'' things/habits necessary to be a world class strength athlete.
There are old pictures of awa armwrestling long before meeting devon, he's just one of those guys who works out but says he's just like that naturally; i've met several guys like him, it makes them look more impressive than if they just told people they work out; his hand thickness is impressive anyway (assuming he's never taken growth hormones like denis and levan, whose hands are massive), he just lies about being inexperienced and devon takes his word for it because it's cool to picture that; the story his friends tell has gradually gone from the original "he's never armwrestled or worked out before" to the current "well, he has armwrestled and worked out before, but only a few years", so his story will gradually get closer and closer to the truth over time; this was a cool way to get eyes on him though
Do you know for sure that he has done specific strength training or are you just speculating? Obviously he has not become so strong just doing nothing, he is an mechanic and has probably done alot of hard labor work. If that alone is enough to get as muscular as he is, I dont know, but if he says thats the reason, then I believe him. Given the benefit of the doubt, if it turns out its false, then that tells something about his character. And about the previous armwrestling he has done. Even if he has been at some tournaments, he still looks quite inexperienced on the first pratice video with Larry and Larratt. In the video I also see Devon saying Khaled has never armwrestled, so maybe Khaled told him this was his first armwrestling practice and Devon just simply exaggerated the story. And even if Khaled lied about armwrestling before, its not really that big of a deal, is it? What really does not help this discussion though, is speculating and creating a persona that neither me or you can prove and that mostly contributes dividing people's opinions.
@Ron Burgundy someone shared this recently, from what i noticed, his friends basically lie as much as they can get away with; if any contradicting evidence pops up they adjust their story up to the date of that evidence, first they had to change his "experience" to a few months when some pictures were pointed out, and right now it's up to "only a few years"; it's basically like me saying "i can do muscle ups with 120kg strapped on me naturally, and i've never worked on them, never even seen a horizontal bar before" and as long as you have no evidence of me working on that exercise i can say i've never worked out a day in my life and i'm just that strong, then if an older picture of me doing muscle ups pops up i say "well, i had done it only that one time, never before or after that picture"; this case got a lot of eyes on it, but it's just a dumb thing some guys do; it's such a dumb type of lie that you can't even imagine someone doing it without prior experience seeing it amp.reddit.com/r/armwrestling/comments/jkblqd/khaledawa_background_information_he_started_arm/

@@trioxin2114 It's very easy to quantify what made Brzenk the GOAT. The combination of short forearm with big hand, and the crazy back and arm strength. He could hold their rise and cup the long levered opponents which automatically made the long lever a disadvantage. Yes that is the best idea, having Devon as his training partner/coach would be phenomenal for Khalid and the entire sport in general. Unlock his true potential. It would help Devon too because he gets to work with that power regularly. Win win.
Devon to be honest. I believe that you are the greatest arm wrestler who ever lived. I have seen alot of you matches, and you have some of the most amazing wins, pins, and come backs! One of my personal favorites is when you pulled against Michael Todd. He had you 1/2 inch from a pin. You fought back to the middle position, rotated your body, put your leg out to the table leg, and pushed through to a pin. It was absolutely astounding. Probably the best pull I have personally seen. I also love that you play the heel. You and your wife bring an awesome dynamic to the sport. It is quite entertaining. Plus in reality you seem to be s super nice guy, willing to help educate anyone on the fundamentals. i hope you stay healthy and keep winning
Devon I enjoy your comments. I'm a disabled guy using a wheelchair for the last 48 years I love to watch these Feats of Strength and competition thanks a lot man
Idc if he used to train before or not. idk why that is even a conversation topic. The guy is strong and has skills for arm wrestling. That being said, no mechanic gets that jacked up without proper nutrition and training.
Genetics does come in to play but without training and diet its nothing, it's like saying if ronnie never trained a single day in his life he would still have won 8 olympias, and of course that would have never happened.
There are a lot of guys I know who don't workout in the gym and are jacked like fuck. Moving and lifting heavy shit in a garage gets you strong and big. Khalid is a genetically gifted person though as are a lot of Cameroons. They have an amazing ability to build strength and size.
The only review I actually care about. Unfortunately, I disagree with some of your views. I'm not sure what match you were watching but saying Khaled wasn't being a bad sport/being difficult is ridiculous. Compare Schoolboys demeanor and Khaleds and tell me they were both being level headed... I understand you said having an ego is what you need to make it in pro arm wrestling but the only person I've ever seen act this way is Michael Todd and maybe... MAYBE Travis. Also, go through all of Larry's videos where he trains with Khaled and you will see that he acts this way all the time. I agree that Khaled is strong and will be a force in the pro scene but his win against Schoolboy was a fluke. They should have gone to straps way in the starting but the others didn't want to cause Khaled was "not comfortable" with it yet. Heck, even Larry beat Khaled with straps... Twice in a row. Schoolboy only lost because of his injury and how he had just pulled like 3 dudes before him... Not to mention all of the energy he spent trying to setup with Khaled who kept acting like a child. I honestly would be super interested in you training him so we can realize his true potential. What do you think about Michael Todd going there and training with them in 3 weeks?
You ever seen Devon set-up? Lmao. Talk about “acting like a child”. Why are people being so fucking sensitive and one-sided about a COMPETITIVE sport? DL trash talks and throws his ego around even more than Khaled, and we fucking love it. Wtf
@@frozenpoopknife5236 yeah and guess what, when he doesn’t do what the refs tell him to do he gets a foul, just like Devon has in the past and just like the refs were saying they would have done in a professional match against khaled.
I still do not understand why having a high ego like Khaled showed there is wrong to do. If that is what gives him the will to try harder, then so be it. You do not have to like this guy to armwrestle him as your opponent.
Well said . I agreed with devon wot other videos but definately not this one. Awa is just a big cry baby . He should be taught how to behave and respect the sport otherwise loyal fans will loose interest in this sport
This is crazy let Schoolboy heal fresh up, Becasue he did the battle against Khaled after Larry I can call this now Motivated Schoolboy sleeps him and will win
I have to respectfully disagree somewhat, Khaled is very competitive and that’s just natural nature in the sport of arm wrestling but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t check his attitude and be a bit more humble after winning/losing. He 100% came off weird in past videos on Larry’s channel and there’s a reason so many people have reacted to it. Even a snob like Michael Todd or a crazy competitive fuck like Matt Mask know how to show immense respect and keep their cool when need be. Respect and being humble is most essential in combat sports.
Agreed. Doesn’t hurt to be humble and kind after a loss like he failed to show Larry when Larry beat him, it is expected. It’s respect that should be reciprocated. If not, you will be unlikable and rightfully so. The guy is intense for all the wrong reasons at the moment
His vibe is just “off.” Can’t put it into words. Sky is the limit for this dude, don’t get me wrong, there’s just something off I can’t pin point. As you said, it’s about all the times he’s been in videos, not just this.
Its funny that this guy doesn't lift weights but somehow found himself at the gym... also who says he doesn't lift or never arm wrestled. Yea I don't know guys.... looks like he lifts and seems to know more than Larry and that guy has been trying to train for a while

Have in mind that school boy had just arm wrestled Larry Wheels like 4x's before he arm wrestled this guy so he was already burned and Khalil was fresh. So that says alot about school boy, he could have refused the match but he didn't and he paid the price because he got hurt.

What was "overly aggressive"? He didnt yell and scream. He didnt threaten anyone. He wasnt yanking Schoolboy across the table. His setup was perfectly normal. Its the refs fault for never saying GO

He’s way too big to have never worked out before. School boy is like 6’4” and Khaled seems close to that, you don’t have that much mass with only genetics. Especially at that height. I don’t care who you are. I won’t speak about the table because some people really are quick learners. But come on... no way is he just that big.
good point and if he really started 2 months ago, he's would have to get way bigger now that he started training from newb gains, but that won't happen cuz he's already well developed, and if u think being a mechanic lays slabs of meat on your central muscle groups like that, you're dead wrong, that's hormones and lifting that do that
"Khaled is a mechanic, he doesn't raise weight." That is not true. He's a Cameroonian and in most African vehicle garages, they depend on human strength to carry the components. He's been lifting and moving the car parts when it has been disassembled.
Khaled has weight trained for years and arm wrestled too. Plenty of footage out there. The reason he suddenly changed his name was so people won't look too hard Into his past training/arm wrestling experience. I'm a huge fan of Devon but don't let him fool you mate. I wouldnt mind if khaled just said hes done a bit of arm wrestling over the last few years and done a bit of training, it wouldn't take away from his natural physical gifts. But flat out denying hes ever done anything or ever touched a weight is just treating people like theyre idiots, and it is lying. i.imgur.com/ADyKnVKl.jpg
There are "genetic freaks" out there for sure but I feel this man has a lot of experience arm wrestling... maybe they just don't call it that in Cameroon 🤔
I can assure you that nobody knows about armwerstling in west and central Africa. It is just that people are natural genetic freaks over there : Khaled’s frame is pretty much a standard in these countries.
Watch Khaled's first spar with Larry Wheels from August, he lost twice and was clearly upset about it, no faking that. Months later he progressed to the point where he could beat Larry and SB, I doubt he trained armwrestling professionally before.
My roommate looked similar to Kalid, he was a running back in high school and was naturally 210 lbs solid without ever touching a weight. Just a slightly smaller version of kalid, who is 250 naturally without ever touching a weight. It’s 100% believable that he just started armwrestling and is a genetic freak.

he was invited to a gym a few times 2019...that doesn't mean he trains in a gym. implying he was a regular gym goer is wrong. was he EVER in a gym before? probably yes. doesn't make him a liar. they asked if he trained before, he said no. should he have specified? yes. he may toyed around before, but is NO regular gym goer and is not on any training routine, especially comparing him to ppl like Larry or Devon who train every day, for hours, specific movements. he does train indirectly, because he works as a mechanic, and not one of those super high tech ones where you have a "lifting machine" for every 10kg part. so, wrist, hand, forearm...he is no couch potatoe obviously. BUT, all of that changed a few months ago. he does specific grip training now, AND he does armwrestling. but he is still a beginner, but really quick learner, comapre his posture to Larry, you immediately see the difference. Larry struggles, Kahled is way more comfortable.
LOL , this guy trains for sure 5+ years minimum, look at the muscle mass in upper body ,comperable to offseason amateur bodybuilders, you dont get 120kg grip strenght naturaly , so your telling me if he worked out he would have like 200kg grip lol? clearly on roids or working out for many years
Even is he was extremly genetically gifted... To have so much lean body mass without roids, dedication(lifting and eating right) is just a silly thing to say...

My thoughts exactly. And it isn't like Schoolboy doesn't have the moves to start to figure this out, he has so much more experience that he can possible get Awa in trouble in some area he isn't practiced in yet. But yea, Schoolboy was running and got hurt, it isn't at all Awa's fault. He was doing what the rules say , and exactly what you should try to do, hold onto your opponent if you can. So Awa is the man right now, and all the haters will be left in his dust if he continues to practice and train. Schoolboy will always be relevant, so it isn't like this tarnishes him. It is just a testament to how exceptionally gifted Khaled is...
@@EvanDunn He lost a round. Which doesn't happen with Schoolboy unless you are at a very very high level. So given his training time so far. As Devon says, sky is the limit. That idea of bringing him to Canada is simply amazing. We have seen schoolboy's level rise to a pretty high standard over the last couple of years and the fact that Khalid could manipulate his hand and the setup so well with just two months behind him is mind boggling.
@Ron Burgundy someone shared this recently, from what i noticed, his friends basically lie as much as they can get away with; if any contradicting evidence pops up they adjust their story up to the date of that evidence, first they had to change his "experience" to a few months when some pictures were pointed out, and right now it's up to "only a few years"; it's basically like me saying "i can do muscle ups with 120kg strapped on me naturally, and i've never worked on them, never even seen a horizontal bar before" and as long as you have no evidence of me working on that exercise i can say i've never worked out a day in my life and i'm just that strong, then if an older picture of me doing muscle ups pops up i say "well, i had done it only that one time, never before or after that picture"; this case got a lot of eyes on it, but it's just a dumb thing some guys do; it's such a dumb type of lie that you can't even imagine someone doing it without prior experience seeing it

@@trioxin2114 It's very easy to quantify what made Brzenk the GOAT. The combination of short forearm with big hand, and the crazy back and arm strength. He could hold their rise and cup the long levered opponents which automatically made the long lever a disadvantage. Training the same movements, muscles and tendons since he was a toddler gave him a head start compared to other armwrestlers. It's a combination of genetics and environment that probably won't happen again.
i like the way devon does not give a fuck about numbers on his videos, im sure somtimes he gets in his head about low views but he definitely pulls himself out real quick. A video like this shows his kindness to just turn on a camera and share. Stay strong devon!

Idc if he used to train before or not. idk why that is even a conversation topic. The guy is strong and has skills for arm wrestling.
That being said, no mechanic gets that jacked up without proper nutrition and training.
It's called genetics
if that was the case every strong man winner in this world would have been from Cameroon.

Wtf

1000000000%

I sometimes feel Devon also have this type of nature.

Khalid is relatively new to arm wrestling so therefore the experienced arm wrestler made some concessions. It is nothing to be concerned about.
