    Terrell Davis is a big reason why Elway has two rings and also having a defense that didn't fall apart during the the Super Bowls. It's so sad that freak injury cut short his career because he was going to be rushing over 10,000 yards and maybe be in the top 5 all time in rushing yards.

    • @Vjl5280
      @Vjl5280 Год назад +7

      The offensive line is the reason. It’s probably the most underrated unit in football history. TD was running through massive holes and usually wouldn’t be touched until he got to the secondary.

    That Georgia coach was a total tool. He was definitely a tool. He tried to sabotage Terrell’s draft chances. Can you imagine?? College kids generate millions for these college football programs and for a coach to purposely ruin their draft. Glad Terrell rose above it.

      He was incorrect but Ray Goff was trying to save his job. That's why there was such rancor. It's also why you change coaches so the team doesn't become impacted as much as Georgia was. I think both men are now on speaking terms, at least

      One of the only reasons they all got rings is because of elway. Leader , and athletic abilities that only thinks about winning not about stats.. I've seen elway pass for 350 and rush for 50 in a game but the receivers dropped 10balls in the game and broncos lost . Davis only had 14 carries in the game. Elway didn't care if he only passed for 200yrds and no touchdowns as long as he found Way to win. That's what matters to him..there's no Superbowl without Davis or elway, or Neil Smith, bill romanowski, rod Smith Shannon Sharpe rod Smith ed McCaffrey, Alfred Williams, Howard Griffith ect.. it was everyone.. if elway didn't get that 3rd and 6 helicopter run the broncos may have lost..elway made everyone play hardest and better

      @@koolkitties8552 nope farve was a choke master. And couldn't run for a3rd and 3 to save his life. That's why he only won 1 Superbowl because of the defense and Reggie white. Farve never could manage a game and when it mattered he couldn't win a game with 2min left. Once in a while he'd get a hail Mary lucky catch to win a important game. But he blew big games by throwing interceptions.. could have went to the Superbowl if he took the sack in Minnesota but he threw the interception.. year after year decade after decade he would shoot himself in the foot ..he didn't learn when elway showed him that 90yrd drives in 13 plays and 9min off the clock is how you win not by 3 plays for 90yrds.. he never learned how to control the clock .never .one of his biggest weaknesses..

    I'm completely biased. I'm a Broncos fan that started watching football a few years before he was drafted, but only became old enough to enjoy the game around the time he started. He was my favorite running back. I believe he was an unstoppable monster, that should've been in the top 3 of all time running backs.
    The whole scheme/OL thing bugs me. The scheme and OL were great, but how can that take away from what he did? Most hall of fame running backs had great offensive lines lol.
    Also, the way he turned up in playoffs was legendary.

    I ran into Terrell at "Water World" in Denver over the summer. I was in line for a ride, and he and his family were just behind me. I made eye contact with him, but I didn't want to verbally acknowledge him or point him out. Most people in line didn't realize who he was at the time, and I just wanted him to have a great time with his family. I was in awe though. • @aaronhumphrey3514
    @aaronhumphrey3514 21 день назад

    Whenever anyone suggests TD was just a system back I always laugh. Go back and watch Super Bowl 32. He gained 157 yards in just over three quarters in that game, and while he was out the run game vanished and the Packers had all the momentum. Once he returned the Broncos took control of the game. And let's not forget that Elway had a bad game statistically (as awesome as the heliscopter dive was). In all my years watching football I have never seen a back come as close to an elite QB as TD in terms of his impact on the outcomes of games. TD was truly special.

    Ray Goof. I feel for Terrell. Bulldog fans can't stand Ray Goof to this day. TD should have won a Heisman.

    Definitely one of my favorite football players of all time. Someone asked me who is a better RB, Terrell Davis or Barry Sanders? I said Terrell, no question.

    TD was a fantastic runner who may have owned all the records had he not been injured, and he was indeed the MVP of Super Bowl XXXII; however, none of us should forget how huge Elway still was to that team. Without Elway, they never make it to that Super Bowl. And without Elway, they don't beat Atlanta the next year.
    The Broncos had a host of great players vital to their success: receivers Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey, tight end Shannon Sharpe, safety Steve Atwater, cornerback Tyrone Braxton, linebacker Bill Romanowski, and a world-class offensive line.
    And no one can forget the brilliance of Mike Shanahan. He put that team together and guided them expertly. It was not inconsiderate of him to ask TD to take part in that one play so Elway could fake the handoff and run a bootleg into the endzone; it was genius, and Elway went in untouched.

    Is he just a product of the system has to be just a stupid question, none of the other RB's they named rushed for 2,000 yards.
