      @biackopsspokciab6849 10 месяцев назад

      @@PillzBerry27He may be the most influential coach in NFL history, but I do take issue with his teams surprisingly lackluster championship play. Every other dynasty dominated in the title.
      Every dynasty since the Browns:
      - 1960s Packers 5-0 in title games (1961-67)
      - 1970s Steelers went 4-0 in Superbowls (1974-1979)
      - 1980 9ers went 5-0 Superbowls between '81 & '94.
      - 1990 Cowboys went 3-0 in Superbowls between '92 & '95
      - Patriots went 6-3 in titles games between 2001 & 2018
      Every dynasty between the 60s & 90s dominated in title games, and the Patriots were able to buck that trend, still racking titles despite a few losses. But the Browns didn't win 6 of 9 titles like NE did, but instead lost 4 of 7 between '50 & '58.
      It's incredibly impressive to get to 6 straight as they did, and a 7th in '58, but you can't go 3-4 in those games. It would be different if they held a record of 5-2 or 6-1, but they couldn't even win half their title games.
      Still up there with the best, but I disagree with Belichick's statement. I'd put Bill, Walsh, and Lombardi ahead.

    Even the best coaches sadly had bad seasons that got them fired. Tom Landry had 3 straight losing seasons from 86 to 88 which ended at 3-13. Landry got canned by Jerry Jones and it needed to be done. Chuck Noll had a 5-11 record in 1991 before he hung it up. Some get lucky to retire like Bill Walsh after his 3rd win in the 88 season. Some do it after a playoff loss like Don Shula in 1995 after a wildcard loss. Still for Beichick the time has passed him. He has no QB and the situation is just getting worse. Tom Brady was a major factor that both Belichick and Brady were able to work off each other and it produced 6 championships for them.

      For one acting like winning a ton of games during the years you have an elite starter at QB and struggling to win in the seasons where your attempted replacement of that player plays really badly is a new or surprise concept considering it’s how the NFL has worked for all of time. It’s almost like it’s an undisputed fact that the QB position is the most needed and necessary position in the entire sport. Additionally it’s almost also well known that finding a franchise QB is extremely difficult, more top QB draft picks are a bust than long term top level player and that acting like Bill sucks as a coach because the team has struggled after losing Tom out of the blue with zero transition available and they picked the best QB available in the draft to take the spot who was well established to have a very low ceiling. Go take a peek at teams that are consistently winning and notice the pattern for the QB position and so acting like winning at a high pace when you have a franchise QB in place as being dragged would really point to every winning coach being “dragged” because no team has long term high level winning and contend for championships without that piece in place because that’s how the game works.

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv 7 месяцев назад

      I also genuinely can’t decide if should find it funny or discouraging that it’s actually possible that you could believe that Modell moving the team was because of Bill but in todays world you can never be too sure. The Modells moved the team because he had a large amount of debts and allowed the city to build a new stadium for the Indians instead of objecting and it led to the stadium he controlled losing a bunch of revenue and putting himself in a poor financial position. The stadium was also really old and falling apart and the city hadn’t been indicating that it was ready to bring a large amount of state funds to perform a major renovation to the old stadium. Meanwhile he and his ownership partner were negotiating with Maryland in secret and were offered a brand new stadium that would be covered by state money, up to $75M a year in seat licensing profits, and the revenue from basically all the revenue generated from the games. And Modell was given a 10% management fee and half the profit of all other events occurring in the stadium. So he could choose to stay in Cleveland, continue playing in an old and decaying stadium, continue to lose money and just hope it’ll get better at some point. Or he relocate and get a brand new stadium for free while getting a seismic portion of all of the revenues that the stadium brings. If one were in a financially troublesome position I wonder which one of those they’d choose? They moved in the middle of the night because Modell had been critical and outspoken for years about teams relocating their teams and had sworn up and down to the fans he woukd never relocate the team. And then he suddenly throws a just kidding their way as he tells them he’s moving the team to Baltimore. And then the referendum he wanted passed to bad, providing what appears to the fans as an option to stay put, he rejects it anyways and says that relationship with the city can’t be fixed. One may argue that there is logic that those events may piss some fans off and that maybe they chose to move at a time where they’d have the lowest chance of a scene or conflict in a city of pissed off fans who feel betrayed and lied to. Or maybe all of those very real things that are common in all franchise moves are bullshit and the real reason they relocated was because Bill did such a bad job (they announced these things right after the team was in the playoffs) that they had to relocate the team in secret. Because god knows Cleveland has never had bad coach’s or teams before and were always in danger.

      @@zoltore23they consistently had some of the best offensive talents and defensive players year after year. acquired big time free agents almost every year. Amendola, LeGarrette Blount, Chris Hogan, Gilmore, Judon, Moss, OchoCinco, etc. Honestly Tom was given countless opportunities by amazing defensives and powerhouse running games. Tom almost has nothing to do with how good they currently are.

    All honesty I cannot believe the heat he is receiving. Look at the resume. 11-5 record in 2008 No Brady. January 2002 AFC champ game Brady subbed for Bledsoe (injury based yes). 2008 Championship game v Sand Diego 21- 12 Defensive win. 2019 SB win Brady did nothing. 2015 SB yes Brady fired a comeback 4th quarter but Defensive play Butler essentially won that game, which they practiced. The list goes on.

    13:48 Imagine how good that must make you feel as a player for a legendary coach to notice save and display a good play you did to the team and tell them "you should give teammates like Ty props and support when they do good like this". Tell me what major success Belichick had as a head coach before Tom Brady became the Patriots starting QB, and what major success he has had since Brady left the Patriots. Now tell me what major success Brady has had since he left the Patriots. I give Belichick all the credit in the World for keeping Brady as the starter after Drew Bledsoe's injury and hiring offensive coordinators who knew how to use Brady. Belichick was handed a gift and didn't screw it up, but that's it.

      Let's be real, Bill's GM moves played a crucial role as well. Bill inherited an atrocious Patriot's roster that was full of old dudes. He legit drafted and made FA moves to make the team a dynasty. The first Patriot's ring? Defense and Brady not making mistakes. Future rings? Due to great decision-making by Bill and his staff. Sure, Brady played a critical role, but never forget both times Brady has had a ton of offense around him offensively (first season on Bucs and the 07 season) Brady wasn't what got his teams to the superbowl. Defense carried. Remember the Bucs - Packers game? Remember the Pats - Chargers game? Defense allowed only 12 points in the Chargers game. Defense picked Rodgers off, forced two fumbles, and held the high-powered Packers offense to 26 points - despite Brady throwing 3 ints.
