All I have to say is I made this pound cake a few weeks ago (and this was my first ever homemade pound cake) and all I have to say is this cake is ridiculously delicious, and the more days it sat the better it got! My son, son-in-law and daughter-in-law have been asking me when will I make it again. I promise this young man can cook! Thank you so very much for sharing your cooking secrets. I also watched your 2 hour Thanksgiving video in its entirety and was reminded that I wanted to thank you for being and sharing who you are with us. You don't know what you are doing for people and how appreciative we are. One last thing you remind me so much of my daddy when he cooks big dinners. I just made this cake following your instructions and it turned out so delicious, light, fluffy and browned beautifully. My pound cakes usually have an oily like streak in the middle but your mixing instructions and speed were so helpful. I just made a few substitutions because I didn’t have some of the listed ingredients on hand. Used swans cake flour instead of all purpose…Subbed whole milk instead of heavy whipping cream and coconut extract instead of butter extract. Thank you again 😍

Thanks Charlie! I think I figured it out my top crust falling off issue I've been having. I forgot to pat the pan and have it settle before baking! I've been researching a lot of vids and articles and they talk about sugar etc. Momma's old recipe from 1800s Ark (she was b1914) her momma's recipe was very plain in that no heavy cr or did they have such nice extracts. She did however have a bottle of egg shade for a lil coloring. The eggs added alternately with flour mixture in her recipe. When she'd take it out to cool it'd be inverted onto this old green glass wine bottle and with a too crusty top it'd fall right off. Her recipe won in a fair where the others had icings and fruit overlays and a sliver sample removed for judging. Her plain ol pound cake had a sliver left to show it really existed, the judges had LUNCH off it! LOl

Hey Charlie! This is how I make my pound cake and how my family makes it. We never put icing on it. Unfortunately, there's never any cake left to save for tomorrow because my family eats it up the same day lol. Yours as always turned out beautiful. Maybe I'll make one for Easter Sunday dinner. Hey Charley, that looks delicious I can't wait to try & make this myself a little advice try the Kerry Gold butter it's really good they have salted & unsalted. It's a little more pricey but it's worth it they do have sales on it it's cheaper at Walmart if you have a Kroger where you are they do have sales on it where I am it's on sale for $2.99.
