- New Orleans native Charlie Andrews demonstrates how to make a Homemade Banana pudding cake. This is a delicate refrigerator style cake. It consists of two layers of soft vanilla cake, sliced bananas, crumbled and whole vanilla wafers, a stabilized whipped cream and vanilla custard which is made from scratch. This recipe calls for 10 servings of cake and it is delicious. Hope you all will give this recipe a try.

Every time I watch Kevin Belton's cooking show on PBS, I like what he's doing.. but I say to myself EVERYTIME... Charlie's a Louisiana cook too, put him on there!!! (Kevin Belton has a show filmed in New Orleans on PBS , but yours would be even better) ... The pudding cake looks sOoooo good!! 🍌🍌🍌

I really like how you lay out all the ingredients and the tools. I also like how you talk about mixer speeds, mixer times and not over cooking the custard. You're a very good teacher! You answered ALL my questions and then some! You obviously have some commercial baking experience. I've never heard of cake batter or butter extract or putting gelatin in your whipped cream. I feel like I've gotten some real inside industry secrets . Baking intel!!! YAY!

CHARLIE!! I made this cake for my husband’s birthday this week (was going to try to do the bananas foster cake but I’m scared of the flambé part 😂) and it came out so good! The sponges were easily the best cakes I’ve ever had. Definitely adding this recipe to the rotation because WOW the taste, the texture, everything about it was just perfection. Thank you!!! @@terriewilliams8831 Yeah sometime it can be a bit of work but it's worth it when you bite into it. You can also make the cake part a day in advance so you don't have to do everything all in one day.

my grandma made the best banana pudding ever. We all asked for the recipe she would never give it to me or anyone else. I thought it must be a family recipe passed down. So after years of asking she shocked all of us me and my aunts that it was actually just the recipe on the box. LOL. She passed away in 2020 and we all laugh over that today.
I came across a recipe with sour scream and sweetened condensed milk. I made it for a family get together and my hubby was not happy bc there wasnt any left. I wish I could find the recipe again. I dont even really like banana pudding but this I liked.
