- Ingredients Used:
Cake:
Betty Crocker vanilla cake mix
Jello Banana Cream pudding mix 5.1 oz
1/4 Cup All purpose Flour
3 Eggs
1 Cup vegetable oil
1 Cup Water
Banana Cream Filling:
(1) 3.4 oz box Jello banana cream pudding mix
2 Cups COLD milk
1 package Extra creamy cool whip
Whipped Cream:
1 quart heavy whipping cream
(1) 3.4 oz box jello banana cream pudding mix
American buttercream
4 sticks unsalted butter room temp
6 cups Sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream or milk (May not need all)
Garnish : Nabisco Vanilla wafers

I made this cake and it was phenomenal!
I doubled the recipe as she stated (doubled EVERYTHING). I had way too much batter for three 8 inch pans, so I used 9 inch pans. I still ended up with a tall cake. I did not double the recipe for anything else. In fact, I only made half of the pudding and I still had some leftover. I highly, highly recommend this cake. Delicious is an understatement.
I was thinking about not doubling and just make two 9 inch pans. 🤔
So on the doubling the recipe it's 2 cups oil? Or still 1 cup, if the box calls for 1/2 cupoil ?
@@barbiegarcia210 I used 2 cups of oil and 2 cups water. I doubled her recipe, not the one on the cake box.
@@crystalsingletary4138 I think you could use her original recipe, without doubling it, and use two 8-inch pans and still get a nice sized cake. I think using two 9-inch pans without doubling the recipe will give you "skinny" layers. You should try it...I could be wrong!

5 months later I found your channel n this particular cake. I make banana pudding cheesecake so I wanted to add the banana pudding cake n cupcakes to my menu. I always have kids to taste something new I’m doing n my grandson is brutal when it comes to food honesty. I’m not sure what I did wrong on the filling but it wasn’t as stable as it needed to be but my grandson said great job granny May I have another slice this time a bigger piece. Lol. I told him I would tell you thank you for him. So here it goes Thank you for showing my grandma how to do this cake it’s great. Now from me thank you so much for taking out your time to share your talent.

@@brandiwalker5673 you're welcome! Try 1 teaspoon 1st; if that's not enough, add 1/2 teaspoon. You don't want it too sweet, and the banana extract could be very overpowering.

Girl you did that. When I cook for my grandkids and my family this holiday coming up I'm going to be the bomb grandma is going to be all that in a bag of chips. 😂🤣😂 And yes ma'am that's old school but you know what I'm trying to say. They will be asking me to make desserts from now on. A lady gave me her sweet potato recipe years ago she was around 80 something years old. And when I started making these sweet potato pies my family will ask me am I going to make some more for the next holiday they even wanted me to make a separate pie for each one of them speaking mostly of my grandson who's a teenager. Before then no one wouldn't touch my past not even the dog. But now I'm all that. And I am not ever turning back. 🤣😂 So thank you for adding some more amazing desserts to my list. 🤗 You are appreciated. And whoever taught you this. I was left with a lot of extra filling and whipped garnish. Is there a way to avoid so much waste? I did decide moving forward to use the whip cream mixture for icing the whole cake as well instead of the buttercream icing. I find that it forms up just as well!! TFS

I am curious to know how come you didn’t use your homemade whipped cream for the cake filling? Also, adding a small bowl with ice under your Kitchenaid mixing bowl will help the whip cream thicken quicker. 😊

It doesn’t Taste like lafys … like a snack pack or similar to banana ice cream ? I used her recipe but added 2 super brown bananas mashed well.
@@itsB97 I'm gonna add banana 🍌s to my cake mix. I'm not a fan of the fake banna taste. I bought the banna cream and mixed it and tried it first its ok. I'm about to make this probably tomorrow.
And one of those boxes of banna cream is just gonna be plain vanilla with a slap of cream cheese.

Hi! The pudding causes the cake to be very moist and fluffy so the flour is needed so the structure of your cake isn’t compromised .
Could you put bananas in between the cake layers
