Ironiclly just as he said "the treant usually wins" my own treant just dies, in the shortest match I've yet had.... all 3 other monsters just went straight at him...
Sometimes the monsters are just plain stupid >_< hahaha Sometimes they can be good and stick to the outside and just come in for the final hit.
I know this is an old video but anybody finding it like I did not, replaying FFXV - when I started the arena I spent 100 Gil for 10 medals and it took maybe 30 minutes to win my way up to 9999. Just an FYI. Just wanted you to know, love the video!!
long story short, the monster with the lowest number under "odds" is most likely to win, as far as the game is concerned. there can be exceptions, based on what kind of monster it is and conditioning, but most of the time the game is right and literally tells you, what to bet on

The Magitek generator is for xp mate , you pimp your ride with anti-daemon headlights and this, so you can earn huge amounts while you sleep lol. 10xp every minute as your ghostrider pilots your whip around a large looping circuit .Noiice!!
Horn of Resolve - A gridanta that, when blown, increases the supported monster's attack. Horn of Tenacity - A gridanta that, when blown, increases the supported monster's defense.
As always, great advice mixed with a bit of philosophy. Can't get enough of FFXV. Second time around and still learning more. Rocks like a granny on crack!
I just want to point out that the odds in this game have nothing to do with odds. They are literally just a multiplier for however many points you wager. So I don't see how looking up odds on wiki will help anyone.
Well if you don't understnad how odds work then you may not be able to figure out how much you will get paid out. Odds may have something to do with this game. Maybe they factor in monsters stats or level and condition but they 'wouldn't factor in the random actions of the monster. Just like any normal event with odds.
Yes they do have little impact on the outcome but seeing a peak condition Treant against a pack of sabertusks, the odds generally reflect the outcome.

in a short version from what I see is that the odds are set lower the easier the win is. anytime I see one of those leopards they always win and they always have the lowest odds

@@LemonEatingKow The odds aren just a mulitplier in this game. I've often seen choices with a lower multiplier that would clearly lose against some other monster with a better cash multiplier. For player new to the colosseum it can help getting at least descent picks most of the time.
@@jakamoo1990 Way late reply, but I'm sure you figured it out by now. In this game it's basically the opposite. The higher the odds, the worse the monsters are, and the higher the payout if they win. Vice versa for lower odds.

I don't think the odds here are quite like the odds you'd get in other gambling situations. In that I don't think it's 2 to 1(2:1) but just 2 point 1 (2.1), with the lower odds implying a more guaranteed result. I say this because you can't get a 2 to 0 (2:0) odds as that doesn't make sense.
the sabertusks and such are always winners in my experience of totomostro since the charge attack they have deals a lot of damage especially if they gang up on a monster. Never bet on the small scorpions and all boss monsters are good picks
Yeah solid advice! The sabertusks can behave really stupidly sometimes though. If they split up they can be beaten. If they all target the same thing, it melts!
All variations of that creatures are good especially the two lvl 32 dusk till dawn team

When I read the description of the horns in Items (?) screen, the tenacity one shows defense and the resolve one reads strength. The icons too match the description and not the horn name (tenacity icon shows fist and resolve shows muscle) - at least in my game.

Not a prob! I thought the tenacity meant strength and resolve meant defense until I actually looked at the icons, did a double take and had to go read the descriptions! Great vid thanks for posting!
How do you get Royalisks, Wyverns, and all that stuff? I only have rhinos, horses, crabs, giraffes, scorpions and the dog-looking things you find a lot near Hammerhead (I don't know the English names of all these creatures, sorry). And I've been playing in the arena for quite a while.
I went from 100 medals to 400k in like 30min-1h using only base horn. Just make sure to bet big when it's one on one fights. And take note of monster damages as you play. And try to notice good matchups.

I just thought of something and it's a way that might take alot longer but if you save your game before you go in and pick one and loose you go back out and you got all of your gold again .....go back in pick another and if ya win ....you got tons of prizes to choose from

Everyone says you need a lot of Gil, but honestly I only spent 100. Bet small amounts until you know what's going to win the most often then go all in. I also didn't buy any horns but I hear the defense is good.
Ben Moore I was mainly concerned about time so I wanted big results fast ;) the defense horn is good, also the heal. The horn of madness is good with a large pack of weak monsters.
That make sense, thanks for getting back to me! If you have the gil to spend go for it but you don't need a ton to start out. The horn of madness idea is new to me but I'll give it a shot! Good video though.

Is there any footage of a Treant vs a Coeurl? Both of them are basically unstoppable but ive never seen them in the ring together. A Cactuar could prob take em both. Also it wouldve beeb great to see boss level beasts in here like a Jabberwock vs Melusune or something lol

You basically win whatever you bet times by the odds. So for example: if odds are 2.0 and you bet 1000 medals then it's 1000x2.0= 2000
Correct and the Lowest odds are usually the safest bet

hey man l am having a problem with cid's upgrades because since l upgraded my engine Blade to leve 1 he stopped doing upgrades could you help me?

It is possible other quests are holding up this one. Sometimes you have to upgrade the drain lance or another weapon you have a quest for first. Another common problem is you will have to get the item to upgrade again. For some reason he doesn't always recognise the item from your bags. Goiod luck!
But l have the itens to upgrades And l dont decided any quests no drain lance engine Blade none but l will try something thanks anyway
how you get more horms
i think the odds are a multiplyer so choosing a higher number odds rake in more medals. ie: you chose the treant with 1.9 odds which multiplies your winnings by 1.9 which is pretty poor, but its ff and could be wrong. plus i havent been there yet 😂

haha no problems man. People have been pointing this out. But generally if the game thinks a monster has a low chance of winning you get a higher payout if it does.

digiing1992 I am not too sure about what makes different monsters spawn in the arena. I have finished the game and have only seen Treant. There are also quite a few monsters I haven't seen in there yet either. I'll do a bit more research. I didn't even think of it to be honest.

honestly, it's probably based off of monsters you're seen or killed.
I NEVER see Treants or most of the other creatures shown in this video in the arena. Not once.

I’m late by a day or two but use umbra to get to past altissia and then just do what he does in the video.
i stared this with 100 medals, i ended up with a bit over 300k in a few hours, left, took on a bounty that was right outside, died, and it didn't auto save...
i never saw most of the monsters in this guide, i think im more very early game, and judging the fights is really easy. not much variety

You can farm ap with magitek generator right you just need long trip skill in ascension and you just need to press R2 on PlayStation and you can farm AP bro
I heard somewhere you can get AP from playing this game. I can't see how though. Is this nonsense?
Simon Whitmore I think it has to do with buying the engine for the Regalia. It gives you unlimited fuel. So if you have the ascension grid skill that gives you AP for long drives, you can set a loop and drive overnight for AP. It is VERY slow gain though and only really useful if you are sleeping or at work. The AP farm in 3 valleys is still the best.

For the most part I was getting aot of animals. Though I got a few gremlins... they are usually pretty useless but if you want to go for high odds, then using horn of madness on them might get you a win.
The Iron Giants don't seem to be all that good. Apart from that I have only seen the Tonberries, which are abolute power houses!

LemonEatingKow If you get a max condition Iron Giant against various animals, it'll use its on Gravisphere attack and deal massive damage. If it goes into a backpedal slash it basically kills anything that stayed in Gravisphere for the entire duration.
Are the horns 1time use item or permanent
They are Perma! That is why they were greyed out for me in the video! So go nuts!

It's pretty easy if you have progressed far enough. I believe you can only get them in end game.

Good video but Horn of Resolve is for attack and Horn of Tenacity is for defense, not the other way around like you said.

I started with 10, got a few thousand, got cocky + got really bad luck and lost all of them.

it's not hard to work your way up from even 1 medal, but it just takes a little bit longer. UNFORTUNATELY, you can only bet 9,999 each match, which means magitek generator takes fucking forever. I really wish they'd remove the cap, but I kinda see why they didn't.

I get it's gambling but the arena is rigged as hell, whenever a scorpion king fights me it's op af, but when I play it it goes straight stupid I gets two shot, like when something dies in arena all things freeze except the killer which gives the killer an advantage which Is hella stupid
Yeah the magitek generator is useless even in new game plus. Once you buy it gets replaced by onion bangle which I got in the high lv end game dungeon. Moo lol

LemonEatingKow I'd have to say my favourite is still the sadly random chance of a cactuar to show up. He is only level 10 and has a great odd multiplier. You are pretty much on the easy win side when he uses his needle attack while he's under the horn of madness buff. He shreds through everything and you'll get a ton of medals.
I haven't seen him! Would be awesome to see him destroying massive monsters!

The sign opposite of the gondola actually tells you what monsters will be present today.
So technically you could just keep skipping days until a cactuar is on the list.

Odds in the Colosseum in the game act as a multiplier for the bets you make. If you bet the max of 9999 and the odds are...oh let us say 2.0(or 2,0 for all those in Europe that use Commons for Decimals. As an American. It is beyond me why.). It is a safe bet because the lower the odds the better chance of winning. Yet lower earnings from the bet. So what you have to do is go 9999 x 2.0 and that equals to *Does some quick maths...(pulls out a calculator)* 19,999. As said forth in the game. So the higher the Odds the better the payout but also higher rest.
Other words. High Risk. High Rewards. Yet there are just some bets you should never make. Like betting against a Tonberry in a match. NEVER BET AGAINST THE TONBERRY! They are Yoda's relatives.
Something else I now use as a rule of thumb: use pack units in 1v1 and choose a solo big guy in free for all (ffa). In a ffa pack units often spit up and get themselves killed fairly quickly. With one big monster you will in total draw less aggro toward yourself. In a 1v1 use pack with horn of madness. Most of your pack units won't be targeted and still have that nice offensive boost. Ofcourse there are exceptions, like don't use that 5 scorpions.
When choosing a monster (pack) I look at the level of the monster, the condition and the pack size. Considering these 3 things will result in much better gains than just looking at the odds imo.

Some of them are ok, but the Grey Hooves are the worst. I think I won a couple of time with the Bronze Neck (or something like that), but that's mostly against other low tier creatures.
