Turn in the 3 Quest and picked up quest A Gift From Cid and completed it.Go to the subway in video kill 3 Flans run around the rubble pile.Now you are in psycomancer area kill anything here 2 snakes in alley,Yojimbo in alley and spider by subway.Go down into subway gates will block you.On the wall is a panel open gates kill all monster down here run to other end of subway open gates and run upstairs should be where the 3 flans were.Now go kill ifrit and enter citadel kill The Fierce then go up elevator and kill The Rogue and The Mystic.Go back down elevator and follow video from there.Flans by subway did not respawn.Go down subway gates were open had to kill monsters again come up to psycomancer area kill spider by subway check alley for yojimbo and the 2 snakes go check main road he spawned kill and dropped daggers on the ground had to pick them up.Sorry for long post hope to help some trying to obtain these in Royal Edition.

Helpful video, thanks! I can confirm this still works in July 2019. In my case, I was in Chapter 14, plus I already killed until The Mystic. Thus, I took the elevator back to the citadel and followed everything in this video. Just got the Ulric's Kukris a moment ago. I'm on the Royal Edition, by the way.

I hate that stupid fan theories, the Psychomancer is not Nyx Ulric, (S P O I L E R). In the end of Kingsglaive, nyx used the ring to contact the gods and asked for their power, they gave it to him on the condition he would die come the first light of day, so nyx died consumed by the power of the gods, his body turn in ashes after that so he couldn`t be infected by Starcourge if there is no, body left. Dont ruin a great character by his stupid theories.
I gotta agree with you here, I feel like it does his character even more of a disservice than he already has by not being mentioned in the game. And it just makes sense that his entire composition was melted by the Gods. Only reason Ravus was half Daemon is because his body was left in tact.
Nyx does have his body turn to ash, and if you think about it, it would make more sense for Titus Drautos to be the psycomancer since we never see his body removed after the battle and how betrayed his King and the people he was supposed to be protecting, which would make him a good candidate for a daemon. So if anyone makes sense as psycomancer, it would be him
Wish they did an actual mention of Ulric in the game. he gives his life up for a city that was already taken over and only Luna and that other guy (who we never see again) know about it. Mostly Luna knew what his face was but you get what I mean

This video popped up randomly in my feed in 2023... Man, for all the indifference FFXV gets, I loved that game. It clearly wasn't finished, but I played the hell out of it multiple times. Maxed everything out and got the platinum. I am currently playing Forspoken by the same team (ish) and it just doesn't have the magic of FFXV... The whole randomly backtracking thing to fight an boss you couldn't POSSIBLY know existed unless someone else told you or you literally randomly did something is very Final Fantasy... I am hoping XVI is gonna be good.
How do you know Forspoken is by the same team ish? And is Forspoken a good game on PS5? I skipped it and the harry potters game. For some reason I have no desire to grind through recent games. Maybe the recent trend of games is not fulfilling. The motivation is not there. Something is wrong.
In case you missed it, Ulric's physical body is strung up in the throne room in a really grotesque way and it made a big impact on the scene. I don't believe the whole 'spirit' theory about Ulric because I believe that after his fight with Titus his spirit ascended. He fought alongside the kings spirits, I think his spirit is too strong to become just another daemon. The Pyromancer we fight could be a daemon that simply can sense the power held within ulric's daggers and picks them up to try and acquire that power.

I like these discussions about whether or not this Psychomancer is Nyx, I'm not saying the deamon is Nyx I still think it wouldn't have been possible with how he died, but I would like to point out this odd horn like item poking out the deamon's hood. (You can see it closer at 12:00 when it grabs Noctis.) It's interesting to me, since Nyx himself had a horn like item attached to his Kingglavie uniform, on his hood. Just saying, take it as you will.

there is a button next to the gate to open it. also, if you follow the subway, you will find it ends going up. Just go up and then down and back up and the necromancer is there
Just a little pro tip- if you upgrade Noctis' stamina, you can sprint a LOT longer by using manual sprint and releasing the sprint button right at the last second before the bar runs out. Noct will flash green and the stamina bar will refill instantly without any cool down time. I literally JUST beat this game again today for the second time, on my way to Platinum, and now I must go see if this still works. I REALLY hope it does!
How can you live without using the stamina bar? If you release sprint just as the bar runs out, it refreshes it effectively giving you perma sprint. The thought of life without it is horrifying

So I like how nobody is acknowledging that the Pyromancer you fight IS Ulric, this is where Ulric died, and that is his spirit, that's why it drops his daggers. Which brings up another important point. This game really missed an opportunity to put Ulric in this game as a puppet of Ardyn's. Like Ravus dead but partially brought back to kill Noct and the group. This could've been an amazing miniboss, where you fight Ulric to obtain his daggers, but instead you just fight an enemy like any other fight.
Yeah, but they wanted the game to build on but not rely on the movie to understand. Having a whole subplot with a character half the players don't know at the end of the game would be jarring. And putting him in earlier would've made Kingsglaive be an origin story for this recurring miniboss instead of it BEING his story with a tragic ending. If you ask me, having him as a hidden miniboss is better than overplaying him.
Man I played through the whole game and didn't grasp that concept. Unfortunately FFXV does not do a good job at covering it's own story. However I still believe this would've been a good mini boss fighting Ulric. Regardless of convolution, I still feel liked they dropped the ball.
So i beat Ardyn but when I load my game, it takes me to the part right before I'm supposed to fight Ardyn again (Ifrit already beaten). Could I just walk out of citadel, fight the giants and then follow the steps from there?
Here is the solution for Royal Edition given by a commenter in the comments below: Kill the 3 Flan by subway then just run around the rubble pile and you are now in the area subway leads to enter subway from this side and panel on wall to open gate kill monsters down here and open the gate where he enters subway in the video
I was so pissed that I skipped these weapons I knew how to get them, but totally forgot I was standing there looking at the daemons trying to remember if I should fight them or not...so now I gotta go back and do this shit again...this game is good and not good at the sametime lol I feel it should of been better in my opinion.
Ou of topic, after all these years. Is he (Ulric) actually not dead (as in Kingsglaive ending he turned into dust) and thus becoming a psychomancer? Because its there, his ultimate weapon, that never been used by a psychomancer (magic user).
I did this today and had no idea that I picked up Urlics daggers. I was just wondering around and then I found this level 82 Monster. Hard as fuck to beat 😄
i think it was the general not nyx. Nyx died way before that and turned into ash the general was still there along with nyx ulric's weapon. but thanks for the location, i'm sure to go there now! :D

How do you know that is daemon Nyx? Maybe this is the daemon that killed Nyx and got his weapons? Are there any physical things on the daemon that it was wearing that indicates it was Nyx?

I may be late with this reply, but they ARE actually available in the Windows Edition, you probably just got confused; I have the Royal Edition for PS4 and this walkthrough doesn't exactly specifically apply to the version we have, but I worked my way around it and I got them 😛
I seem to be having the same issue as some people. I literally followed it step by step, killed everything at least 4 times over, restarted and everything but only thing that spawns is that level 72 enemy :(( guess its just bugged for me :(
Follow his steps, kill the lobster monster thing, then loop back round the buildings (from the area of the spider, then the samurai, then the snakes) and he should appear.
if one walks too far up the stairs to the capital it just vanishes out of existence, I got super confused and worried that I screwed something up, but it still spawned

upgrading stamina is pointless. as you know, you can refresh the stamina bar with a well timed button press. infinite stamina without any AP used.

So I like how nobody is acknowledging that the Pyromancer you fight IS Ulric, this is where Ulric died, and that is his spirit, that's why it drops his daggers. Which brings up another important point. This game really missed an opportunity to put Ulric in this game as a puppet of Ardyn's. Like Ravus dead but partially brought back to kill Noct and the group. This could've been an amazing miniboss, where you fight Ulric to obtain his daggers, but instead you just fight an enemy like any other fight.
Yeah, but they wanted the game to build on but not rely on the movie to understand. Having a whole subplot with a character half the players don't know at the end of the game would be jarring. And putting him in earlier would've made Kingsglaive be an origin story for this recurring miniboss instead of it BEING his story with a tragic ending. If you ask me, having him as a hidden miniboss is better than overplaying him.

Man I played through the whole game and didn't grasp that concept. Unfortunately FFXV does not do a good job at covering it's own story. However I still believe this would've been a good mini boss fighting Ulric. Regardless of convolution, I still feel liked they dropped the ball.
So i beat Ardyn but when I load my game, it takes me to the part right before I'm supposed to fight Ardyn again (Ifrit already beaten). Could I just walk out of citadel, fight the giants and then follow the steps from there?
You are not supposed to go up the elevator to face Ardyn. You are supposed to turn back and fight the Red Giants...

Here is the solution for Royal Edition given by a commenter in the comments below: Kill the 3 Flan by subway then just run around the rubble pile and you are now in the area subway leads to enter subway from this side and panel on wall to open gate kill monsters down here and open the gate where he enters subway in the video

I was so pissed that I skipped these weapons I knew how to get them, but totally forgot I was standing there looking at the daemons trying to remember if I should fight them or not...so now I gotta go back and do this shit again...this game is good and not good at the sametime lol I feel it should of been better in my opinion.

Ou of topic, after all these years. Is he (Ulric) actually not dead (as in Kingsglaive ending he turned into dust) and thus becoming a psychomancer? Because its there, his ultimate weapon, that never been used by a psychomancer (magic user).

Warping from any range is ok farther is good damage but from close auto crit+ it stops you from getting hit
I feel some of these hidden quests should of been achievments really, I know its not hard but I loved the film
i think it was the general not nyx. Nyx died way before that and turned into ash the general was still there along with nyx ulric's weapon. but thanks for the location, i'm sure to go there now! :D

How do you know that is daemon Nyx? Maybe this is the daemon that killed Nyx and got his weapons? Are there any physical things on the daemon that it was wearing that indicates it was Nyx?

I may be late with this reply, but they ARE actually available in the Windows Edition, you probably just got confused; I have the Royal Edition for PS4 and this walkthrough doesn't exactly specifically apply to the version we have, but I worked my way around it and I got them 😛
why didn't you just use the Y spell on the ring and have a couple minute fight against psychomancer instead?

I seem to be having the same issue as some people. I literally followed it step by step, killed everything at least 4 times over, restarted and everything but only thing that spawns is that level 72 enemy :(( guess its just bugged for me :(
Follow his steps, kill the lobster monster thing, then loop back round the buildings (from the area of the spider, then the samurai, then the snakes) and he should appear.
Um...Omega is here for me.. Was replaying the game with DLC packs and Omega is here and he seems too much for me...what do I do?

Here's a note, both giants do not need to be killed, I did it without killing both since one despawned on me
How does it despawn? There is no daylight there. If it did despawn that would count as killing it
if one walks too far up the stairs to the capital it just vanishes out of existence, I got super confused and worried that I screwed something up, but it still spawned
