This is the video I needed! Was thinking about upgrading to the watch 5 but it doesn't seem worth it, now. I'll probably wait for next year's model and see what Samsung does 🤔 that blue looks so nice but I have the 40 mm rose gold watch 4 and I'm more than satisfied, after coming from a watch active 2

Hi, CK. Thank you for your videos. I just bought my first smartwatch, a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, and was so appreciative that you explained in this video that it uses a USB Type-A cable as opposed to a USB Type-C cable found on the Galaxy Watch 5. I knew I needed to get a wall charger for the cable and have found very few places that mention what USB type it uses, so that I can get the proper USB type wall charger. Thank you for so clearly, and so helpfully, mentioning this in your video. I also liked your video on battery saving tips for the Watch 4 and look forward to watching it again once I begin using the watch.

I have AOD off, phone and messages are only notifications that come through on my watch, and I do all the health things and I get every bit of 3-4 days of battery life. I'll also note I also listen to music via ear buds and use watch to control volume and skip songs ect and still come out pushing 4 days of battery life on my watch 5 pro.

I had the galaxy active 2 and was quite pleased with it but I decided to upgrade for 1 reason only, RUclips music! I absolutely hated having to carry my massive s22 ultra just to listen to some music.
It's still day 2 and the battery is meh but they usually improve a bit after a couple of weeks when it learns your patterns etc so let's wait and see. I finished my day with 45% left today, 39% left yesterday with some music and 1h30 walk. I also picked the sapphire colour (the blue), it's really cute.
Yea that blue is the best color.
So I've had my watch 4 for a year without any screen protector on it and the glass is fine. No scratches and no cracks. I've been to the beach various times recently too and still scratchless.

Missing the rotating bezel and relegated to swiping across the screen instead of rotating with the digital bezel.

Screen protector and Spigen case are a must. Have both on my Watch 4. I don't care what Samsung say about the toughness of Armour Aluminium/Titanium/Sapphire etc... any watch will get scratched or dented, especially if you go to the gym or active. No need to upgrade at all... Good review.
I totally agree with the case and screen protector. At least screen protector minimum. Had nothing on my amazfit gtr 3 Pro and found a scratch on it and don't know how it happened.

I would agree not really worth the upgrade from the 4 to 5. I wish I would have passed. I just had Fomo. Watch 5 pro is becoming my favorite samsung watch ever on the other hand.

Just bought the watch 5, and an aftermarket Pro band from Amazon, and it fits ok.
40mm would probably be the largest watch for my wrist size. Didn't go for Watch 4 as was holding out on Watch 5 series due to larger battery size rumours, but due to the other specs being the same and no smaller size for the 5 Pro/lack of a nice looking, small watch size offering, that can still provide a long battery life whilst using GPS for most of a day for hiking; I'm skipping this generation and waiting to see what the Watch 6 series offers.
I am guaranteed you will buy watch 9 or maybe 10.

CKid I have my galaxy 4 classic with a screen protector and bezel protector. Not upgrading not worth it. I wait for the 6 or 7
for the fast charging.... do you jeed AT LEAST THE 25W charging brick? meaning that a 45w will still work for fast charging right? (i know that sounds like a totally ridiculous no brainer question... just making sure..)

I got the Watch 5 for free. My son gifted me the Watch 5 when he got his Samsung Fold, it came with it. He uses the latest Apple watch and since I had the Watch 4, he hooked dad up. I have to say I do like the watch. It uses the same glass protector as the 4, that I happen to have in the box and the same size watch protector, and I just got 4 of them. I'll likely sell the Watch 4 once I get acclimated to the Watch 5. There isn't anything wrong with it so I'll let someone else have the experience. Thanks for the video CKid.

I like the design of the Galaxy watch 3. I like the rotating bezel so im gonna stick with it. Battery is amazing. Display is great. No need for me to upgrade
I just bought a used watch 3 classic 41mm for $95, but realized its on Taizen OS. I had to return it and go with the 4 40mm for $140 for the wear OS because its easier to text with a qwerty swipe keyboard and it has google app support like google maps support or google translate.

I’m good with my watch 4…I was expecting a major change but I’m kind of glad. Now..unfortunately the Watch 4 I bought for my husband he was trying to catch the train and put his hand in the door to hold it open but it wouldn’t..so when he pulled his hand out the watch came off in the train. Someone picked it up but never called..so that’s a wash…So I was thinking if I should get him the 4 again or get him the 5. I would hope the 4 went down in price..so I’ll weigh my options..He’s not as much as a tech nut when it comes to watches but he does miss it.

Yes you can use Samsung Browser but to me the screen is so small it’s almost unusable.
It dimming because it helps with battery.

I have the the Galaxy 5, and I get email notification but I can t read them on the phone. It sends me a notification, but it makes me read the email on the phone. I can't read the emails on my phone. Does anyone have the 5 and are you having the same issues?

Just shown my watch 5 at samsung serving centre and technician is trying to convince me for battery backup 6 to 8 hours of normal use. Really disappointed with the battery backup of watch 5. 1 hour of walk workout is consuming more than 30 %

To get the true battery performance that it's capable of, you'd have to wear it for at least 4 or 5 days, as with all Wear OS watches. How long did you have it at the time of this video?
No one should be upgrading, especially to the PRO unless they are new adapters. Serious downgrades this year from Samsung in terms of quality and usability.

Depends of you like the style of the watch 5 vs the Active 2. But features wise I feel like you will be getting an upgrade.

In conclusion, if you don't have Galaxy watch 4, then go get Galaxy watch 5. If you have Galaxy watch 4, it's not necessary to upgrade to Galaxy watch 5.
I'm about to trade my 4 in for a 5 now. Samsung has a $70 credit for cyber Monday (week) and I get an additional $75 for trading my watch in. So the 5 will only be $64.99 for me.

And personally the majority of people are not upgrading their phones every 8 months anyway. I know plenty of people who are perfectly fine with their iPhone 13s the iPhone 12s, I know plenty of people that are fine with their Samsung s20 Samsung S21 Samsung Samsung s10

I returned my watch 4 classic last year due to bad battery life. I went back to my original galaxy watch and Was holding out for the 5. My sensors stopped working on my old watch so needed an upgrade anyways, wentbto get the 5 today as soon as it hit the shelves. I returned it 2 hours later lol, i can't stand the hideous design and no bezel, so i ended up going back to the watch 4 classic.
5 pro is ($800Australian)
4 classic is ($400)
Saved myself $400 for the exact same software plus a rotating bezel, it's worth sacrificing 1 extra day of battery.
What is so hideous about the Galaxy watch 5 it looks just like a regular traditional watch
