This man is seriously pumping out quality and consistent content daily. Like how do you run a damn business and upload RUclips videos daily. It's insane. It really is. This man puts in fucking work!
One item that I've found to be quite helpful that you overlooked: adding a water shut-off valve to the hose (between the hose end and the QD adapter). It avoids having to make the trip to the house water valve before disconnecting the hose, and further avoids all that water gushing and spurting out of the hose when it's first disconnected. An added benefit is that it retains water in the hose, so the next time it's used, you don't have to wait for the air in the hose to be evacuated. And it also saves a tiny amount of water with each connection/disconnection.
@@SPPACATR Why do you think it would be bad? It wouldn't be any different than turning it off at the valve before disconnecting. You can even disconnect the M22 hose - turn the garden hose valve back on to flush it, turn it back off, and disconnect. I've been doing it for years with a Sun Joe SPX3000!
Just bought a Simpson 3400 psi and all your recommended accessories. Just delivered today, so I need to connect all the quick disconnect fittings. Looking forward to using it to clean my boat and clean a few neighbors driveways. Find your videos very interesting and look forward to seeing them, thanks for making a boring subject fun to watch.
Josh, You have a great channel. Thanks for your constructive input. Bit the bullet and upgraded from my battery power washer to a pressure washer setup based on your input. My one main deviation was the pressure washer, found a Karcher K1700 for $99. Im 67 and still take care of my cars, so my constànt goal is wash smarter not harder. Thanks for all your help!

I upgraded my pressure washer and could not believe how easy it has become for me to use it. All upgrades were from quick connections to a 50 foot flex holes to a cannon gun and I even changed out the orifice for better foam action. Best advice. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy your videos and yes I use my pressure washer more than ever.
Josh, you have taught me so much about the details of detailing. I recently have added these upgrades to my setup and they've made car maintenance so much more enjoyable. The only thing I did differently is I got the MTM sgs28 gun and built nozzles with rubber guards. Thanks for sharing the wisdom.

Thanks Josh. I set up my pressure washers similarly with QD's, but at the high pressure unit output use a female QD fitting. That way it's just like electrical extension cords...male plugs in, then if desired, multiple hoses can be linked together for reaching way out for some project requiring that.
EXCELLENT series, Josh. You helped me decide to purchase and set up my first pressure washer (Ryobi TSS electric) and the necessary upgrades (hose, quick connects for starters). Saved me a long and frustrating learning curve. Especially appreciate your relaxed approach for first-timers. Well-done!

Bought this setup with the premium upgrades to the short wand love it! Awesome video and now I have an awesome setup. I’ll never go to another car wash again!
i got the same setup but insted of buying a 22-15 to 22-14 adapter, i got a 22-15 and a 22-14 quick connects and used the male 22-15 and female 22-14 from each of the quick connects just to save some space and don’t have a very long set of connections between pressure hose and pressure washer.
Thank you Josh ! I wrote you with having issues figuring out how to set all the things up and you referenced a older video but it worked great and I figured it all out. Thank you 😊
Thank you for the info! I’ve been dragging my feet on these upgrades for a year, and you just helped me pull the trigger😂🤫. Thanks for all of your content👍🏻🤘🏻
I got the 1900 Ryobi just yesterday , but am taking it back to get the 1800 (and $50) today! Matt at the obsessive garage channel says they both have the same pump and motor...but add a few fancy doo dads and slightly reduce orifice size to get the 1900 PSI. Great tips josh I switched all to quick connect also did not like the hose holder so I bought a electrical cord reel and zip tied to the front it holds the 50 ft Uber flex hose perfect 👍
@@MrMykeymusic it was a black cord reel on Amazon 12 bucks and I put it an the face of the pressure washer I just wrap the hose around I did not like the original as the hose kept dragging on the ground
I have the same setup other than I have the craftsman 2100 psi pressure washer, my Uber flex hose is awesome, I have no shade in my driveway and I finally tried out my CR SPOTLESS deionizer and man what a difference, you’ve made awesome recommendations and I appreciate it, thanks Josh 👍😁
Idk if this has come up already, and I’m sorry if its been talked about a million times already, but i haven’t heard you mention it in any videos yet so thought I’d throw it out there. i needed a new hose immediately so ran to Walmart and bought the better looking of the two options they had, which was labeled as a “Black Max” 35’ high-flexability hose. When i got home and opened it up i was really happy with the design and quality which made sense once i noticed the small writing down the the length of the hose said “uberflex by propulse”. It’s only 35’ but works great as an extension and its nice to know that getting an Uberflex at Walmart is option if you ever need a replacement immediately.
Hi and thanks for the comment! Yea i actually made a seperate video about that. The black max at walmart is the uberflex and a great option! And i think 35' is a good length. I like the 50 for my purposes but in most cases 35 is enough!
Josh, I ended up making a new pressure washer setup based on videos you've made. Just got the final piece today (the Craftsmen 1700psi tiny one that you've shown before). I ended up getting that, a MATCC stubby pressure washer gun, a Black Max (Uberflex) 35' pressure hose, a 50' Flexzilla garden hose, a Griot's Garage Boss Foam Cannon, and a bunch of quick connect adapters. Tried it tonight to make sure everything works and there are no leaks, and it's perfect! Such a huge improvement over my completely stock Sun Joe pressure washer and $20 foam cannon I was using. Stupid question for you: how do you wind up your pressure washer hose? I was wrapping it up using my elbow and the palm of my hand as the two points of contact but I'd like it to be wrapped more tightly than that. I see yours is, so I'm wondering if there's an easy way I'm not thinking of.
Hi Josh, after watching several of your videos I took the plunge and bought a Stanley shp 2150 pressure washer with MJJC foam sprayer, snubby gun, black max hose along with the quick disconnect adapters you recommended. As always great videos that are inspiring.
Ive been watching your videos a lot, used your links to get my items. I am washing LARGE objects so it's wash a section, manual agitate, rinse. So I am switching from foam canon to nozzle pretty frequently. In this case, where are you putting your wash wand when you are scrubbing? I'm not goimg to put it on the ground and I am not using a cart that I could put it on.
The main change which improved the setup was to use a female QD on one side of the hose and a male QD on the other side. It allows you to add in new sections of hose if you need to extend it quickly. You just disconnect and add the hose to your existing hose and you're done. Most of the 3/8" hoses with QD connectors are set up this way with a male QD on one side and a female QD on the other side. You can even order female QD connector adapters with 15mm connections so you don't need the 14mm to 15mm adapter on the pressure washer. It looks cleaner with only one adapter. I also added a high flow valve on the hose side to be able to turn the water on and off at the pressure washer. Its a good feature to have when you want to change wands quickly. You just turn off the unit, turn off the water flow, depressurize the wand and swap out the wand. After that, you just turn the valve back on and then the unit. If you are using a gas powered pressure washer, you will need a high pressure valve instead of turning off the unit.
Walmart just released the Hart Spot cleaner and it's different from the 3-in-1 you reviewed before. I'm thinking about getting one and I'd like to see a review first
Very useful, thank you. I've been looking at upgrading my hose and gun and there's so many different connectors and adapters, it's hard to know which ones to get.
Great video as always! Thanks to your previous videos on these topics I upgraded my pressure washer hose and added all the quick connects to my setup which makes setting up a detail a breeze. Any chance we could get a review on one or a few steam vacuums?
Quick connects is the best item I ever bought for my pressure washer, thanks Josh for introducing the Amazon set. I just purchased the UberFlex hose. What is your recommendation on storing the hose?
Hi Josh, New sub here, I'm setting up a hotel reel, wall mounted set up. I am using my existing K2 karcher, is it possible to buy karcher to quick connect hoses?
I wish he showed this exact setup, but with a reel, reason being is I only see reels with 3/8 hose connections so I want to see if there’s possible adaptions to be able to use those reels but with flex zilla hose
Josh you have any plans of making a video for polishing out scratches from glass. Mine recently got keyed by some jerk. I tried leveling it down with 1000 then 2000 grit paper along with M110 and M205. It got better but just decided to replace the glass today.
Sorry if you haven't addressed this in previous videos, but I have to ask. In this video, Retractable Garden Hose Reel! | How to store your garden hose | GiraffeTools Review, at the 2.15 mark, there is a hose real that has a grey hose hooked up to your pressure washer. Do you have a video on this or can you explain the set up. I'm only going to using my PW for auto details close to the garage and that would be perfect. Also, today (May 30) I picked up the SunJoe model SPX2598-ELT from Menards. While going through the stuff in the box I was surprised that they included the adapter to use an aftermarket hose. I verified using a caliper that the end that went into the washer was 15mm and the inside diameter on the other end was indeed 14mm. Kudos to them.
Josh last question for this week. You said to use the Technicians Choice as a wipe down for the interior. I see you spraying a cleaner heavily on the door panels and using a brush to wipe it in, then you rub it off with a Microfiber Towel. What is that product? I have everything I need except a good interior cleaner for the door panel and DashBoard. Thanks in advance
I just bought an Uberflex “type” hose on Amazon for all of $36 PLUS an included set of adapters PLUS a 10 percent coupon. We’ll see how good it is. My assumption for many goods that appear to be knockoffs is that they are from the same factories but merely lack the same branding. My foam cannon is years old and purchased on eBay for far less than what Chemical Guys wanted for their identical unit - minus the sticker on the container. Warning to users of these hoses: keep them away from the muffler of any gas powered pressure washer. Ask me how I know - and, funny thing, the new hose has that warning printed right on it.
This is a great setup video with no BS dragging it out. Just getting to the point. Set up my home kit based on this and I'm super happy. Have one question though, does it matter which direction the coupler's and plugs go? I assume it's better for water flow to have the plugs pointing in the direction of the water flow like you have where the Uberflex connects to the pressure washer, but also saw that the plugs on the gun and foam canon are pointing backwards. Any advise there on whether they should all point the same way, or if it has any impact on GPM?
Nice!! I have the original Active and it surges 🤦♂️ I’m wanting to get something different but without breaking the bank. I was my car every Sunday and use all the right stuff. What’s your favorite sub $300 pressure washer? I guess the one with the most GPM is best.
Thanks again for another helpful video. I've watched probably all of your pressure washer reviews and have yet to see you mention using a pump saver product. Based upon your overall experience with the washers is that something you believe to be useful or just not really needed?
I'm looking to build a washing station in my garage, what electric unit would you recommend under $300? I plan on getting your recommended upgrades with hose, reel, quick connects, foam cannons and wand.
Thanks Josh... I needed this video 3 years ago when i first got started detailing. Kept buying the wrong fittings and as you know had terrible leaks. 💦 Have you seen the new Active 2.0? 🤯
The quick connects on my Portland water leak. Not a lot but I’m here posting. Also the Portland doesn’t stop the motor with the new accessories. It could be my machine, but I figure I would ask here
#5 the pressure washing nozzles you said you liked the 3.5 correct ? Check your links, no big deal because I found the 3.5 but your link for that was to the 3.0 but below you could scroll and I found ok. Thank you.
Josh…I lost the quick connect from hose to pressure washer( wife misplaced it..lol). What is the size and do they sell it as a stand alone?? Thx ..love your content
I have a Sun Joe Pressure washer. Had to get the adapter. Still leaks. And now my Adam's foam cannon spits and sputters mostly water. Before AND after soaking it in cleaning vinegar for 24 hours. I'm starting to miss my old cleaning mitten and soap bucket. I could also hear my music and podcasts without the pressure washer racket!
Thank you so much for all the helpful videos. Hey I have never used a foam cannon nor a pressure washer, but from the Homdex's instructions, it says to not add water to the concentrated solution as the washer would be the one to dilute it. So should I keep my newly bought Mr Pink concentrated or still add water per your instructions?
Josh been following your recommendations and purchasing the items you recommended and they have been great. But one question, do I need to do a IPA wash before laying down my ceramic wax? If so, which should I purchase? Would love to see a video on IPA wash, whether it's necessary or not. Great Videos keep up the good work
Man, Josh, you do such an awesome job on your tutorial and review videos that I feel like I have been washing my car for years, when I have yet to do my first pressure wash! Thank you for all the helpful videos!
Hey Josh really hoping you can help me. I recently bought the “pressure washer set up” that you mentioned on your channel. One issue, the foam cannon is blasting out real “watery foam”. I changed the orifice as i am using a Karcher K3.170 electric pressure washer. Both 3M products i am using recommend 1oz 30ml of soap and then fill the rest of the bottle with water. Do i need to shake the bottle or stir the product once the bottle is full? Do I need to use more soap? Thanks you for your channel as you explain things really well and living at the end of the world (New Zealand) it’s really difficult to find these kinds of products in a retail store.
If it’s got a thread I got a quick connect on it LOL Tryed out some tire hose guide rollers today on my truck. Not bad need to play with them a bit more. Do you use them?

Please make a same tutorial video on Bosch Aquatak pressure washer series also. Request
I got this exact pw and set-up thanks to you Josh. Much appreciated. 🍻
Same here. Ha
Josh do you have a link to where I can purchase the amp reader unit you have plugged into the wall to check the draw ? Love your channel
Harbor Freight has a 25% off on the Portland pressure washer. Getting mine today for $62.57!
Josh,
Remember you can get quick connect that’s a 3/8” by 15mm so you don’t have to have the adapter!
you have a link?
This is a great setup video with no BS dragging it out. Just getting to the point. Set up my home kit based on this and I'm super happy.
Have one question though, does it matter which direction the coupler's and plugs go? I assume it's better for water flow to have the plugs pointing in the direction of the water flow like you have where the Uberflex connects to the pressure washer, but also saw that the plugs on the gun and foam canon are pointing backwards.
Any advise there on whether they should all point the same way, or if it has any impact on GPM?
That’s a great question. I haven’t tested that but I’m 99% sure it doesn’t effect performance
at all. If it does, it’s not a measurable amount
Hi great video. How would you know whether you need a 2.5 , 3.0 or a 3.5 orifice? I have a ryobi 1900 psi. Thanks
Nice!! I have the original Active and it surges 🤦♂️
I’m wanting to get something different but without breaking the bank. I was my car every Sunday and use all the right stuff. What’s your favorite sub $300 pressure washer? I guess the one with the most GPM is best.
how do you store your hose? do you use a hose reel?
Thanks again for another helpful video. I've watched probably all of your pressure washer reviews and have yet to see you mention using a pump saver product. Based upon your overall experience with the washers is that something you believe to be useful or just not really needed?
I'm looking to build a washing station in my garage, what electric unit would you recommend under $300? I plan on getting your recommended upgrades with hose, reel, quick connects, foam cannons and wand.
Thanks Josh... I needed this video 3 years ago when i first got started detailing. Kept buying the wrong fittings and as you know had terrible leaks. 💦
Have you seen the new Active 2.0?
Thank you.
Awesome vid!
Great Videos keep up the good work
As usual great video!!!! Quick question, I have an older Black and Decker pressure washer, hat connection does it have M22x14 or M22x15??
when will you have the unbranded foam cannon back in stock on your site?
Hi great video no need for Teflon tape?
My water hose quick connects from that kit; leak at the quick connect points, not where they screw on but internal from where they connect.
Man, Josh, you do such an awesome job on your tutorial and review videos that I feel like I have been washing my car for years, when I have yet to do my first pressure wash! Thank you for all the helpful videos!
Can I use this set up with a garden house from the house?
Is there a difference between stainless steel and brass quick connect? Do you prefer either one?
Great video - Thank You! What is the brand of chemical holders on your back wall?
Just watched the video again, they are from Max Shine
Where can I get those wall shelves you store your spray bottles on
I was looking in the description but I didn’t find the quick connect kit you mention. Where can I get that kit ?
If it’s got a thread I got a quick connect on it LOL Tryed out some tire hose guide rollers today on my truck. Not bad need to play with them a bit more. Do you use them?
Josh do you like the Mckillians pressure washer extension wand to use on your McKillians hand piece ?
