Sociopath, maybe. Calling him psychopath makes me want to dig into this trial that I haven't followed at all... but I came here to see how he explained lying about the video thanks to a news story. I wanted to see his body language and tone and word choice in his explanation. He's loaded with the tells that I recall from a recent "how to tell if someone is lying" ted talk (and a second video on youtube) by FBI profilers/investigators who are inundated with lie detection training.
The biggest one for me is that he nodded his head as a tell that he "wanted" to say yes "the truth wants to be told" while he was saying no to the most incriminating questions. I think he practiced and continued the nod somewhat unnaturally to later questions he could be honest about, but if he wasn't nodding at the time of a question that a 'yes' would incriminate, he would start nodding as he was answering 'no'. Another tell was when he didn't answer the last question directly about shooting and instead answered a general answer that he had never shot his wife or son at any time... ducking a question and answering in a blanket way like that suggests he didn't want to lie to yet another question about 'had he that day or ever with that gun or one like it' kind of questions.
So, the reason I suspect sociopath and not psychopath is his is a very publicly successful individual and cares significantly for what people think of him. Psychopaths don't usually seem quite so extroverted. They also tend to be less likely to plan ahead properly and more likely to commit errors and get caught.. likely from emotionally driving irrational behaviors and high risk taking. I don't think if he was a psychopath, they would have died that night, and it would have been behind an iron clad alibi and the possibility of a recording putting him at the scene would have been FAR lower.

As a retired nurse of 38yrs if he was spending 50thousand on painkillers a week he would be stone cold dead.If it were only pills.I don't believe a)he loved his wife as he says you don't kill people you love His son was a disappointment to him I feel the love wasn't there for him after what he done by killing that beautiful young later driving drunk on the boat. This family have ruined so many people financially and morally he has no moral compass he care for one person only that would be himself.Ive watched this trial closely and I can only conclude that he is GUILTY. I've watch and teared up when his colleagues were on the stand family of his housekeeper and Maggies sister all heartbroken proberly will be bankrupt because of His greed. Then he steals the housekeepers sons moneys they were awarded. What a despicable individual. Now he's playing the sympathy card my addiction made me not think straight. This was premeditated he'd planned this out from the minute he got wind that Maggie was Divorcing him. There isn't a doubt he guilty his youngest son has him with the recording at the kennels his face when that came out.I have watched it up to now and there is no doubt he is guilty. There has been not one piece of evidence of any other person at the scene or even in the area do the community a favour and do the right thing his bullying and end his rien over them and more than anything Justice for Maggie and Paul.

The reality is he didn’t use all that money on drugs. They lived a very lavish life style. That came with a high price ticket. All his immediate family members spent that money. He stole to keep them all living the rich high life. Sure his drugs cost but look at all they had and how careless they were with their stuff. If they lost it they just bought another one. I wonder how much jewelry Maggie owned? I bet all their clothes and belongings were name brand and very high end. Realistically, he can say he spent it on drugs, but he didn’t. He likely has no idea where it all went. I haven’t heard anything about prostitutes, as somebody said. What is that about? And why not mention it in trial?

All of his physical behavior coincides with someone who isn’t being honest. The rapid succession of facial movements, the shaking of the hand. Was he given a polygraph? I’ve seen so many murder investigations in which the suspects are put in interrogation rooms and fully dissected by professionals who read body language. Why wasn’t this done to him!?
2 people are dead and were given no respect by the on scene investigators. Weather it was Alex or not, they allowed far to much interference with the investigation and let vital evidence slip through the cracks.
Why was a large group of Alex’s friends and family allowed on the property during the investigation?!? IT WAS A CRIME SCENE!!! I’m having a hard time making sense of the on scene investigators decisions. I truly am.
And to add to his bullshit paranoia excuse, during this trial, is he still maintaining his opioid addiction?!? It doesn’t take 6 months to detox from any substance. His behavior during this testimony is absolutely questionable and further actions need to be taken. There is so much evidence in this case that doesn’t line up with Alex’s story.
His rapid change of cloths, the timeline that he gave lane enforcement doesn’t line up with what they found. His missing phone records that had to be recovered from Verizon and Apple. His on star records showing how long he spent at his parents house and the detail about how it was an unusual visit. Busters testimony altogether was very telling about how capable it would have been for Alex to do this. He said they checked his hands for gun residue but if he had access to gloves that would be easily looked over and given they had dogs and kennels It’s not far fetched to have gloves on the property for clean ups and other purposes. Another things that isn’t considered is HOW LONG ALEX POSSIBLY PREMEDITATED murdering his family. Was it weeks? Months? He would have had ample time to consider all of the details regarding Evidence against him and given his law practice I truly believe he knows far more about murder trials and collection of evidence than he wants anyone to know. Things aren’t adding up and the reoccurring person here is Alex. There is zero evidence to support any other person was on the property who could have possibly committed these horrific crimes.
