If you can lie to your own wife and mommy and daddy, and detectives . . . you'll lie to 12 strangers with no problem.
And look them in the eye while lying to them-
He's been lying to juries for years and years.
@@DJJahT Good point!!!!
Great comparison
Does that mean he murdered them? I thought this was a murder trial?
ALL THE JURY NEEDS TO REMEMBER IS THAT A.M. WAS THERE 4 MINUTES BEFORE THEY WERE SHOT. AND HE LIED ABOUT IT!!!
And the dogs did not alert to any threats or unknown people. His testimony is laughable
And he changed his story to fit his narative..
That, and all of the typical others lies he told when a person is guilty,.. but think they are all smarter than detectives and the law. If you watch court trials as such,.. it’s the same senario when they are caught and then try to turn things around to fit the evidence,.. all while still lying. It’s the traits of psychopaths or sociopaths evidently.
Bingo!!
And yet there are people here who still think he’s innocent.
Imagine going to law school with the same man who will end up prosecuting you decades later.
He will be found not guilty of the murders.. what evidence they got saying he pulled the trigger? Oh becuse he stole a lot of money so he must be the trigger man? Lmao
@cbwilliamss630 what evidence do they have...? Seriously? Have you done any research on this case?
@@beenhog6922 what physical evidence do they have to convict this guy of murder?
@@cbwilliamss630 they don't necessarily need physical evidence, it's circumstantial. Imo it all adds up, but that's for the jury to decide. I won't be surprised if he gets off.
Waters was 2 years behind him in school.
Ok, when he says, I did not kill,"Maggie Murdaugh I did not kill Paul Murdaugh. ", I believe he has separated himself from his wife and son. He dehumanized them now, like two names in the headlines. No more pet names.
Good job wearing him down, Mr. Creighton Waters.
That’s exactly right. Classic distancing language
Bingo!!! No more paw paw
No Pau Pau and Mags anymore.
No more Paw Paw and Mags Mags...noticed that too...disgusting
You are so right!
he lied to everyone no question. he said he didn't kill his family but he did!
The blood dna of Maggie's on steering wheel...what about the shower..the golf cart ...shoes ..shoe prints ..why ck their pulse with 5 or 6 bullets in Maggie & Paul's brain on Paul's foot..the piece of skull gone and he tried to turn Paul over- HE killed them but the jury will come back in his favor out of fear...the one jurorer with head & face covered..says it all. Hung jury..
why were you there? were you witnesses? No

Be sure to bankrupt Buster since he is complicit and involved in several cover-ups.
That’s how they recovered some of the money
The partners in his law firm had to come up with millions to pay back all the clients he ripped off. You can bet they hate his guts.
Absolutely
He TOY’ED around every question and prolonged every single question with prosecutor but answered quickly with defense lawyer and turned to jurors and turned on the tears. He fought every question, TRIED to explain in unnecessary going around the topic to get off the real question. GUILTY.
Along with the fake nervous shake. Nobody questions every single question, repeats the questions, and then skirts around every single answer if they are innocent.
Totally great description of his BS! His FAÇADE HAS BEEN SHATTERED!👹
KelleGaus I agree with you absolutely!
He was in litigation mode, he’s one who gives all lawyers a bad name!
He rehearsed his questions and answers with his Lawyers.
The look he gives the prosecutor when asked if he’s a “family annihilator?” gave me chills. I understand if he didn’t do it how upsetting it would be to actually be asked that but my god that dead cold stare was so unnerving to say the least.
That is a fine example of Narcissist Rage. It gives you a snapshot of his true behaviour. Imagine what it'd have been like if he wasn't sitting in the witness box.
Cold is the best adjective to describe this reptile.
That look...hearing his inhalation and exhalation....seeing those shoulders pull back and broaden....his eye appeared to have gotten darker. That look was so demonic! - IMO, Waters asked him that question to shake Alex up and to get that response for the jury to see.
Saw that too. If looks could kill…

Great point!!!
Exactly 💯
Just another big lie.
I agree 👍
Another reason/excuse why he lied about being at the kennel.
Would have been faster to ask who in SC he did NOT lie to. But of course it is more impactful if names and possible faces to those who know the names are presented. Prosecutor is utterly demolishing him and showing what an unfeeling robot AM was and is. Can a man like that kill the son who had put him through financial hell and the wife who might have threatened to divorce him (hence wedding ring under the car seat), when she had the properties in her name so he could evade civil suits? I would say without question.
It's not about the names and faces it's the sheer quantity. We established already he lied to the police. Listing 30+ names of people close to him that he flat out lied to nails it in the coffin. He got to the point of all of that build up with this line "You want this jury to believe the story manufactured to fit the evidence...."
ha ha but he would just twist the answer...he can definitley kill and did

The whole reasoning for lying to sled is ridiculous. You distrust them?!?.. So your wife and son are brutally murdered and laying lifeless on the ground less than 100 feet away from you, and in that very moment you are worried about your “personal problems” and relationship with SLED rather than focusing on tearing heaven and earth apart to find out who did this to your child and wife. I wish he got the due diligence of a true interrogation to get this man worked up and ask the hard questions because you can tell the truth is eating him up inside.

I hope he chooses a different path than AM and chooses an honest life.

I wonder if he had a gambling addiction also? You can lose a lot of money with that addiction.
If the Pinocchio effect was real, his nose would have popped out of my laptop and taken my eye out...
The lack of objections by the defense is pretty funny
He gets his way in all things. They let him do it because he, and possibly they, think it's his only chance. But he believes it, and they don't. Watch their faces. He's in this mess because Maggie was not going to give him his way. He took both their lives rather than lose them. Why doesn't he pull the usual excuse and blame it on his irrational Opioid use, or his dealers'.
I feel like he’s trying to get Alex convicted.
What a despicable horrible man!!
P.S. I wrote my comment before the last 3 minutes. I should have waited. What a powerful trap Waters laid and then he played the clip where AM admits he saw his wife & son 45 minutes before leaving -- before ANY of the "paranoid" causes came into play. Yep, AM continues to prevaricate...
Love the way he works up a cry on the stand
Disgusting creep.
And the fake nervous shake and stutter.
Did anyone notice while in the car being interviewed by law enforcement, he was going to pull his t shirt out to clean his glasses. But chose to use the dirty wadded up tissue to do it? Real tears?
I'm praying for Mr Waters to get the truth out of this guy once and for all...
I think Alex went down to the kennels that night with the intent to kill Paul and Maggie, and then frame it as Paul killed Maggie with the blackout, and then Paul loaded a buckshot and turned the shotgun to his chest and committed suicide.
Double aught buckshot from a 12 gauge is what police officers fire out of their standard issue shot guns to take down bad guys. At close point blank range it would blow a hole through you.
Alex only intended to fire one shot at Paul, with shotgun by his hip and the nose of the barrel point blank at Paul’s heart. But Paul must have flinched just in time where the buckshot missed his heart and went through his side and out through his armpit and into his arm and clear through to the window. It was so point blank the wadding went into him.
If Alex would have been dead center shot on the first shot it would have blown a hole through Paul’s heart/lungs and would have dropped him dead. He then was going to turn around and grab the blackout and gun down Maggie.
But he missed his heart and Paul didn’t go down. He must have fell backwards and then at that point had to fire the second shot of birdshot to take him out.
Once Alex fired the second shot his “Staged Framing Paul killed Maggie and then killed himself with a shotgun blast to his chest murder suicide plan” went out the window and all hell broke loose.
He still had to take out Maggie at that point and he did. But had he killed Paul with that one shot he could have staged the shotgun on/near Paul like he committed suicide and then left the rifle wherever it lay and start his cleanup process. He fired from the hip upward to make it look like Paul turned the shotgun on himself.
But once he fired that second shot the only thing it could be was a double homicide. So he had to get rid of Paul’s guns, clean up really good and then get to his mom’s for an quick alibi.
If his plan had of worked and the first shot killed Paul and he staged the scene well enough then he wouldn’t even had to have left his house for an alibi.
His story about napping on the couch would be good enough if it looked like Paul killed Maggie then killed himself.
He would have only had to clean up his body from blood/GSR and dispose of his clothes and then put on another generic pair of khakis and a blue button down shirt and drive down to the kennel and call 911. He would have had plenty of time to do all that if his staged murder/suicide plan worked.
Instead he had to kick it into overdrive to his mom’s house and likely hide guns/clothes, and then stay for 20 minutes for an alibi.
If his plan was double homicide then he wouldn’t have used Paul’s guns. But he was going to stage it and frame Paul for Murder/Suicide. That’s why it had to be Paul’s guns. If it was hit job the hitmen would have brought their own guns. If alex was going to do it solo he would have hid some non-identifiable guns out there in the shop that he could then dispose of.
But that wasn’t his plan, and then when he missed the chest shot and had to fire a second shot to the head, all his planning went out the window.
I also think that his one minute stop before he pulled out of his mom’s could have been him running down those railroad tracks in front of his mom’s house to hide something in the woods next to the track, or maybe even lay evidence on the tracks to be ran over by the midnight train.
Ok, that makes perfect sense now why he used PM's guns!
Very good.....sounds like this is exactly what was planned.
I believe you nailed it. He blames Paul for all the Financial spill out, Maggie wouldn't sign the papers to mortgage the homes. Right there is your motive. It's all about GREED ADDICTION and DESPERATION.
This does make sense! As he told his sister-in-law, it took someone awhile to plan this! He apparently functioned quite well as a lawyer winning cases - on 2,000 mg oxycodone/day. Then suddenly (and conveniently) these pills cause him to become 'paranoid' and lie to police about not being at the kennels? What about his attempts in the aftermath to try to pointedly influence the memory of both the housekeeper and caregiver of their recollection of events?!
Y’all sound like Agatha Christie. Haven’t the investigators searched these areas high and low?

Addicts are good at hiding, that being said I think he’s guilty as hell. I also think he had an addiction and it played a part
He wasn’t ever a drug addict. It’s a cover story for where the money went.
As a former addict, yes we are good at lying but close family members see right through the lies. You really think someone you spend almost everyday with would not notice a change in your behaviors?
I think it's another sympathy ploy like he always used when he's in trouble to avoid accountability
He lied about being with Maggie and Paul withing 5 minutes or less of them being murdered. Period.
His way of thinking is that he's not lieing to someone if they don't find out. "I didn't lie to them . I ommited the whole story." Smh
Lying not lieing
God, youre pretty.
He has to have millions and millions of money hidden of shore. I’m sure Buster and possibly his Brother is aware.

Shame is not even a word in this man’s vocabulary. He has none. Most likely never had any. He never fought a darned thing in his life. He minimizes every action he does. He doesn’t admit he murdered them, “I treated them bad”. In his mind I think he feels justified in anything he had to do because he had to protect his own life.
Wrong - this man and others like him are controlled by shame. Shame is not the same as guilt. Shame is intense and can be unconscious. Read up on shame because you may not understand what it actually is.
@Sunny Girl Wrong.
These types of people feed on power and control.
They are not ashamed of what they have done albeit they will say that to make you think they are.
If they had been ashamed they wouldn't have continued it for over twenty years. Lol
No he does. He masks it. He is anti social. It’s there. They do what they do out of control. To control that shame. Shame is a massive hidden issue here. He is in facade management now. I advise you go to HG Tudor channel and learn. He is the creator and a malignant narcissist/ psychopath. It’s to your benefit to spot this in real time and in conversations. @@WestVirginia1959he tried to give up hundreds of times. No one knows addiction unless they experience it themselves or with a loved one
I think the prosecution did a good job but completely overlooked what was an obvious point of contention for him, which was that he felt his wife was “privileged enough not to work”. He mentioned this on several different occasions and I think he had built up a HUGE amount of resentment at her over the fact that it was solely up to him to keep up the appearance of leading the wealthy Murdaugh lifestyle and that he’d been “forced” to steal so much money for so long in order to do so. Add to that Paul’s “boat wreck” which had brought shame to the family name along with the added financial blow, due to being sued, and then his wife and son having the audacity to team up against him over his “pill problem”. There’s no doubt he harboured hatred for them to be able to do what he so obviously did to them - in the manner with which he did it. I think, in his mind, he could as easily justify killing Maggie and Paul as when stealing millions of dollars from vulnerable clients, unsuspecting colleagues and friends. Sick, sad, and pure evil.
I agree, I think he was really resentful of his wife not working and co-sharing all his wealth, refusing to sign for the sale of the beach property, possibly making demands for more money from him. His son Paul's heavy drinking and inability to control himself when drunk, hence the boat accident. Alex being sued as a result, than his finances being looked at closely after stealing for a decade. In his reasoning they become excess baggage and he wanted a new start without them.
I agree and have been saying the same thing any time someone says, "he had no motive." In his first informal police interview in the car on the night of the murders, the officer asked him what his biggest issue with Paul was and Alex, without hesitation, responded, "irresponsibility". Then proceeded to go into a laundry list of annoyances about Paul.
I LOVE the disgust in mr. Waters voice as he says “nothing further “
So he's admitting to being a first-class liar but he wants them to believe every word he says. 🤦🏼♀️

TWO attempts to frame others as the 'real killer'-- first providing the description for a sketch of MALLORY BEACH'S BOYFRIEND and then claiming he recognized Eddie as the murderer of his family-- after saying he never saw them.
TWO attempts to influence witness testimony in favor of lies supporting his alibi and xplaining away the tree video.
Guilty as sin.
Maybe he should have said “I wish I was down at the kennel longer, so I could have prevented these tragic murders..” Sociopath.
Is there anyone he didn't lie to?
@Maggie.I don’t think he ever lied to me!
@@judygalligan3523 Open your eyes and ears lol! He wouldn't know the truth if it bit him on the arse!
Those eyes are piercing.. it's upsetting that someone can do this to themselves and others
He’s only 13 years older than me? He looks like he’s in his late 60s early 70s
Drugs, lies, and murdering his wife and son will age anyone!
13 years is a lot lol... you are what? 41? I am 38 and look 28 so he is only 16 years older than me!
Answer the question....ALEX...I BELIEVE..I BELIEVE...IM SURE I DID IM SURE I DID....HE MAKES ME ILL...
@4:04 okay but would you kill Mags and PauPau?
like how he shakes his head yes when answering no to shooting his wife and son then looks supermad and huffs 4:25
Addiction IS NOT murder.
Lying IS NOT murder.
Stealing IS NOT murder.
TOTALLY AGREED. This whole trial is insane to try to use a financial crime to prove he murdered his own wife and son. I think the prosecution is so far strestecher and his defense team is too weak
Being at the kennels at the time of the murders is murder. The rest is motive. You seem confused.
The DARK energy and the way he shuddered after the family annihilator question was crazy. I’ve been listening to Many Matney describe his dark side but WHOA!
Dark energy indeed. He may be what is termed the dark triad in psychology: psychopathy, narcissism, and Machiavellianism, and considered the worst of the personality disorders.
Yeah his eyes were crazy at that point
Mommy?
Any white guy in the south with a pick up truck that owns that many guns with a dog name bubba with blue lights in his truck that loves college football I DO NOT TRUST PRIED!
Ahhh, but more importantly, do you trust them _eschewed?_ 🤔
Look at the stare after that question 😳 wow.
It's a shame he cannot agree with the prosecutor when he asked isn't millions of dollars made a successful career.
I would say that was very successful but he wants to ram home that he was an addict and that wasn't the question.
Someone tell me why the blue shirt he wore earlier that day in a picture was never found? If someone did it why would they take his shirt?
And his shoes!
Maybe they liked the colour? :-)
Confess already
He is a great combo of a politician and a lawyer! 😂
Drug addicts are master manipulators. I have worked as a RN for many years, and learned early on about the manipulative behavior. Perfect example here.
@gailseals3206, sorry, but youre wrong about your characterization of drug dependency. The problem arises when a person is using prohibited drugs because they are forced to interface with an illegal drug industry. You wouldn't denigrate someone who requires frequent injections of insulin to live. Prohibition forces people underground and then people do what you just did which is blame them for hiding.
AM has a bad character. That has nothing to do with drug dependency.
@@JessBlake2 Both non narcotic drugs and and narcotics are available legally, and narcotics are generally taken short term when prescribed by a doctor. Insulin in no way compares to mind altering drugs that people take to "get high". I have found that those who are addicted to narcotics tend to have no accountability. They often lie to save themselves from being held accountable for their own actions, steal to support their habits, and blame others for the things they have done. They never take responsibility for their actions. Murdaugh is a perfect example of that.
@@JessBlake2 You are absolutely wrong.
AM may well be fundamentally psychopathic
by nature but there are plenty of psychopaths around who don't commit murder. But addiction changes people's rationale. The bounds that they put on their inclinations simply go out of the window. They stop caring about the consequences of their actions, like getting caught or causing grief to other people. It's not a compartmentalised approach to life where selling your soul to get drugs is justifiable (to you) but other evil behaviour is not allowed. Morality in general simply goes out of the window. And drugs actually alter your brain architecture and the way it functions, so the effects will be seen across the whole spectrum of behaviour, not simply those involved in obtaining drugs. This is why drugs are so dangerous to society because they alter the way people think. And that's just as true of cannabis as it is of heroin.
Maybe they arent manipulative, but just very convincing by what they say.
@@chocolatetownforever7537 , has nothing to do with dependence on a substance. Some people are manipulative, some aren't whether or not they are out of control of the use of a substance.
His lip licking while answering questions drove me crazy. Super irritating
He’s no addict. He speaks in broad general terms about pills-nothing of personal knowledge. Esp the detox. Guy doesn’t talk like an addict.
yep, that is so true KD.
I thought the same thing!! Do you know about this addiction? Is 60 Oxy’s a day even humanly possible? I was thinking they should have hammered on that subject but it didn’t seem to get too much attention.
I’ve thought that all along.
@@scottharris3611 unfortunately I know personally and you can’t take 60, 30 mg of OxyContin in one sitting-you’ll die. Even 60 per day is almost impossible to not overdose. He hasn’t described any real symptoms of opiate detox. Everyone knows you get sick and shake et al.
Why is the fact that he had gone back to the house before the police arrived to get a shot gun because he didn't feel safe not being addressed. He could have washed his hand changed clothes hid evidence???
went to moms house 15-20 minute hid evidence u know per laws require search warrant hes smart. carigiver for AMs mom testimony said she saw him at 630 am in next day with his dads truck
They checked ALL his clothes AND his body. No blood spatter or GSR anywhere!! He didn't do this.
@@marlons4122 He is smart, that's why I don't think he went to mom's house with the tarp. That would be stupid.
He didn't even have blood on his hands/legs/clothes after he stating he attempted to turn Paul over and take his pulse. In the midst of a very bloody crime scene. How is he able to stay pristinely clean after doing this? He obviously showered, changed clothing, hid the clothing sometime after the murders. His stories, and the evidence just don't match.
@@Mac-sb5lj he was wearing different clothes. The blue shirt he had on earlier in a photo was never found.
The fact that he denied of shooting his family but his head is shaking "yes" is very concerning...
This prosecutor is a badass! Murdaugh just seems so defeated.
Nodding while saying he didn't hurt them. Dead giveaway. 100% guilty.
He nods a lot, and, when saying, or meaning to say, "No" he nods, yes.
