She is explaining the murders of Maggie and Paul with empathy, tact, professionalism, and in a manner that the average person can understand. She is a tribute to her field and to society. I am very impressed. If only the entire world could operate in this manner, what a wonderful world it would be. I hope justice is served for Maggie and Paul.

@Quinn Price, I am too so proud of being raised by 2 of the most amazing human beings. You always knew you were loved and valued. My father is 81 years old and still living. We speak every single day and see each other almost daily as well. He still is very strong and works, or as I would say finds and creates things to keep himself busy. This man is physically busy and doing things that the young generation wouldn't even be able to keep up with him, on a daily basis. He just recently turned his backhoe over and was severely hurt. He broke 9 ribs, most of those were attached to his sternum. The most painful ribs to break. 2 of the ribs punctured his right lung. He also has 2 disc, the T8 & T9 he suffered compression fractures to. He was up and walking within 4 days and was released from the hospital. He has to wear a back brace daily, but he has not slowed up. Even the specialist are astonished at his ability to keep doing what he is doing, without pain meds. My dad calls me daily asking me if I need him to do anything for me. What? I keep telling him I need to be doing for him. He refuses to allow that. He is a man that I have always looked at as a super hero type. He is also a pastor of a church and has been since I was 3 yrs old. I will be 57 years old this year. I was so blessed to be given as the only daughter to this man and my magnificent mother. I have 2 younger brothers who both are almost a spitting image of my father in work ethics. My mother is the most incredible woman. She was in a horrible vehicle accident and has been partially paralyzed since 1988. I watched her peel potatoes with 1 hand and do things that left you speechless with just 1 working arm and hand. She has been the glue to our family and the queen in the eyes of all of us. She is the most loving and giving human being. Saying all of this, I could never understand how any parent could do this to their own flesh and blood, let a lone the person they promised to love and care for eternity, for any reason. Money can create real demons and this is what this man is. A demon! He needs to live his life out in the most miserable way possible for all he has done. Nothing that causes pain or anguish is too extreme for this man to experience for all the evil he has done. God forgive me for the horrible feelings I have toward this excuse of a human being this Murdaugh man is.

It's sickening watching Murdaugh try to cry. If you notice he does this head-bobbing gesture as he tries to force tears out. He does this a lot when he feels threatened, The tears should be natural, and instantaneous, not forced. It was nice of the lawyers to stand in the way for us. What we see here is a psychopath trying to look upset and failing dramatically. No tears either from the eyes or exiting the nose. The attempts are interspaced with sneaky sideways glances at the jury to see if they are reacting or noticing his feeble attempts. He did this when first questioned at the murder scene. Psychopaths have a hard time replicating emotions. This, coupled with the fact that they profit from others without remorse, gives him two hits on the psychopathy test. He stole money and walked all over people with no remorse. ASPD is defined as a particularly challenging type of personality disorder characterised by impulsive, irresponsible and often criminal behaviour. Someone with an antisocial personality disorder will typically be manipulative, deceitful and reckless, and will not care for other people's feelings.' I think that describes Alex Murdaugh perfectly. When he thinks the jury is not looking in his direction he shifts and moves about in his chair for no reason other than to try to catch their eye. It is very interesting that he could not get his spectacles any further down his nose, without the falling off. Clearly, if he manages any tears, this is so the jury can see his eyes. There are still NO tears, even after 37 minutes of looking at his dead son Most tellingly of all no revulsion, no horror at the images, he merely sniffs and what we see is him trying to form emotions that he doesn't know how to do, so we have this angry stare and mouth movement. That's not grief. There are no tears in his eyes to explain the sniffing, it's dry. Tears don't come down the nose unless the eyes are clogged, the nose is the overflow. Interestingly Murdaugh claims to have checked for signs of life when his son's brain was on the floor and even the deputy first on the scene took one look and pronounced them both dead, such were their injuries. Murdaugh stares at the images to elicit an emotional response. But Jim Griffin covers the screen for the pathologist's second time on the stand, probably because it's been mentioned that he doesn't try to avoid looking. No parent could even look at these images. What's illuminating, is that despite having upper chest breaths of 48 a minute at times when he's hearing damning evidence against him, (12-16 is more usual) his breathing rate is close to normal whilst looking at his wife and son's horrific injuries. What is also interesting is Murdaugh's lawyer walking backwards and forwards, trying to lead the jury's eye back to his client, who is using a dry tissue as a prop, likely he was told to do this. There are no tears and there is no reason that the lawyer does this backwards and forwards trip. The grief muscle is not engaged in the forehead or the chin, and the mouth is not turned down, so we can tell that he is 100% not upset. The forehead is not engaged, it's smooth. Try pretending to cry and feel how it affects your forehead and eyebrows. This is a poor act. In 47 minutes, he never managed one single tear for Paul, but the sight of Maggie elicits a response. Clearly, he cared a bit more about her BUT, she was leaving him and you don't leave a narcissist. He still manages zero tears. The guy should be destroyed by these images. The injuries to both his son and wife were not immediately fatal, so he basically walked up to two injured people and executed them, which makes him even more callous. It's fair to say that neither victim fought their attacker. Robbers don't walk up, shoot both people several times and then leave without taking anything. There was no sexual element either. This tells you that whoever did it, went to the house specifically with the intention to commit murder and made sure they were dead. So you have to ask what anyone else's motive would be to kill two people in the middle of nowhere. There's no monetary gain and no sexual gain. Who would benefit from their demise? It was an impressive performance by the pathologist. *Update: I suggest, being the narcissist that he is, that Murdaugh was reading some comments on social media and had a practice, because, when he takes the stand and testifies, he suddenly finds the correct emotional face and some tears, although, mainly snot. Psychopaths will spend a lot of time in the mirror practising the emotional responses of other people they meet. If he's on the stand, he's going to have to make a better show of it, so I have no doubts that he watched RUclips and the Body Panel, who have done a few analyses. There are only two emotions I see on the face, one is anger and the other is SHAME. The only time we see shame is when he's looking at photos of his wife's pathology photos; in the shot to the abdomen 1:13:46, the chin and head go down and that is what we do when we experience something shameful. I believe this is because he 'overkilled' her. She was in agony at his feet when he put the last bullet into her head. Again we get a wipe of non-existent tears with his dry prop, a tissue. The sad thing is that even right there he is manipulating the jury. It's what he's good at. One thing I'd like to say in closing about the snotty nose. I think he's used something like methol on a tissue that has irritated his nasal cavity and caused flushing of the nose. It might have made his eyes run, but we've seen no tears before, other than when (coincidently) he is on the stand. At no point is he in respiratory distress when he's showing a bit of emotion and we've all subbed at one time or another. His breathing is normal most of the time, save some deep breaths, which is extraordinary.

I keep thinking about what Maggie saw in her last few seconds alive. I think he got Paul first, and even though I'm sure it happened very quickly, he had to change guns so....she had to have witnessed her husband literally blow the brain out of their son's head. Then she gets shot 5 times?! This is the definition of cold, calculated, demented, twisted, egotistical, maniacal, and everything in between. @@kathleengowarty2742 yes she really pieced it together for us. A real man, a real human, would just take their lumps in life, not take the life of their own family. He has lived under his facade of being a Murdaugh and a lawyer for so long and he is so far moved from reality that he probably thinks this is all normal sense making stuff. I see how nice all of the people in his life are and they all say he was like family. He manipulates everyone right from the start and that’s who they think he is, no matter what he does after. It’s like being in an abusive relationship. The people still see him as the person that swept them off their feet and they have a hard time believing that this person would do any wrong. Even with everything he’s done, and all the scams he’s pulled, there will still be some people that believe in him because they can’t get past their first impression.

The image of the baby’s body was shown on a huge screen on the wall of the courtroom. Very startling. The pathologist used a laser pointer to direct our eyes to areas she wanted us to take note.
