Same. I heard something I hadn’t before. AM says ‘when Maggie asked me to leave.. I mean go with her…’. I wonder if that’s what happened; she asked him to leave the property and he snapped.
New to case me to. It really bothered me when he was talking about Paul. He had mentioned in his jail calls about the net fix series. He spends that time talking about Paul giving life advice to friends because it was in that series when Paul gives ridiculous advice. That’s your last thoughts on your son. The whole testimony was so unreal all about things that could be directly shown on data. Not a true event you are describing. The jury wanted a real person not a lawyer . The most hillariois thing in whole case is after he learns Maggie phone found and comes up with story of her coming up to house and a cat fleeing the scene with the phone to explain the data.
Every time I watch this, more of Creighton’s strategy and excellence shines through. Creighton Waters please train others around you in your ways! The emotional intelligence and insight into Alex is incredible.
When you lie, it’s harder to keep your story straight. Being married to him must have been a nightmare. Except for the cars, boats, houses. What a mess.
After listening to that 911 call about their housekeeper she seem to be involved and probably knew he was stealing . If someone fell down my steps and was bleeding out I would be way more panicked than she was .
@Linda K I'd be willing to say that Maggie probably knew her husband was a liar, but stayed for all the luxuries you've mentioned; sad, but it seems so many of these cases involve money and people living high on the hog these days; some pay the ultimate price for that stuff in the end!

He said he was on the phone with 911 while checking Paul, but 911 starts recording before anyone answers...he wasn't making a sound...you could hear dogs barking in the background, then as soon as the 911 operator answers he starts making crying sounds...I wonder why this wasn't mentioned in court.
that was hilarious following him telling Alex that Barrett's life story wasn't necessary; I mean can you imagine how this prosecutor might talk to his kids; no bs for sure....lmao
Condescending prosecution. I sat across the street watching my business living loft and all things involved. As for memory at that time, I wasn’t even sure if I had property insurance…just homeless with no income or potential of income. No money and looking for a a crappy rental that would accept me and 6 rescue pets. Waters is prompting the dialogue ruthlessly.
After hearing what the top accountant said…I think it is very easy to steal money in law firms because of the massive amount of millions they bring in.
It’s generational privilege at play, his family have basically been the law in that county for over 80 years and nobody would be game enough to stand up to them. All of his lies only came undone once an outside agency got involved, don’t be surprised if more comes out in the future.
You’d be surprised, I work in insolvency, we had a bankrupt guy, financial controller who stole millions from his employer over circa 8 years before he got reckless and was caught.
Im an addict and his claim of taking 60 oxys a day is just complete bs. He's a real pos for blaming him murdering his family on his completely exaggerated addiction
Me too and the lie that Alex spent 500k on pills is absurd! Ppl should note Alex's constant sniffing on the police videos. He was crushing those pills and the night of the murders, Alex was completely numb in the brain. He can barely keep a thought with all of that medicine 💊 dripping down his throat, while he is in the car with David.
OK i dont know much about the case an I definitely believe from what I do know he's GUILTY, also having to use that much money on pills alone I find HIGHLY unlikely, having said that I just want to clarify something about medication. I'm a disabled Vet thar had complications from surgery an was enduring EXTREME constant physical pain an had taking everything from hydro, dilaudid, fentanyl etc... to finally morphine pills AND liquid +8 alazopram daily for 8-10 yrs. I should be dead but survived by the Grace of the Lord Jesus, so I couldnt say how many pills someone could consume daily.

1:29:57 is the best part. I wish Alex Hunter would have signed the indictment papers in 1999, and John and Patsy Ramsey would have been cross-examined like this.
It's interesting how he admitted he loved and cared about his clients that he manipulated, lied to and, hurt. Admitting he has the capability to put his feelings aside and do whatever he thinks is best for Alex.
Not once did this dude apologize to all the people he stole money from, and not once did he say on the stand, I want to find who's responsible for killing my wife and son and put them behind bars where they belong. He really thought he could talk his way into a not guilty verdict.
Only a lawyer could say something like that. It's just a game for them, like playing poker with your friends. You don't feel bad about taking their money.
He had the position, the paperwork and the authority to finagle sons around that didn't at the time seem suspicious.. you can just look at his lifestyle and the fact he is raising two teenage sons as to where all the money went..
He had multiple houses, boats, all kinds of things he could have sold to pay back his debts and he just kept stealing and borrowing money. Just proves how selfish he is. Also, it’s sad that the bank kept giving him loan after loan because of his name and who he was but a regular person nowadays can barely get a credit card in their name never mind a small bank loan to open their own business or pay off some debt. What a sad fucking country we live in
Big facts. The distance between a normal lower/middle class person and the rich is extreme. It always annoys me when poor defend the rich lol so brainwashed they fail to see reality or the American dream of thinking we’ll all be rich someday somehow lol
@@mnpd3, addiction doesn't absolve someone of the consequences of their actions. When someone is addicted and kills someone, they can't use that as a defense, so why should he be able to?
The fact that he clearly struggles throughout this cross-examination indicates his guilt. An innocent man's truthful testimony would have flowed flawlessly, yet this is actually painful to watch because he is a guilty man consciously trying to cover his tracks.
I don`t think it`s painful to watch ..... I enjoyed his pain at trying to squirm out of his guilt and failing miserably. He stole the money awarded to a crash victim who was left a quadriplegic .... it`s hard to get lower than that. I am delighted he will rot in a maximum security box for the rest of his days.

Mr Waters was extremely effective in this prosecution and cross examination of this man. I think it's thr best I have ever seen. Well done you nailed him.
Don't know about anyone else but to me the most terrifying and scariest aspect to this guy has to be those soulless empty dark eyes of his that poor Maggie and Paul must of no doubt experience as well.

My thoughts exactly you would think an innocent man would say something like who killed my family there’s no evidence that anyone else was ever there especially with all those dogs the dogs would be going crazy if someone else was on the property
I love how Alex takes a long time to answer questions and goes on and on about irrelevant details to try and limit the time the prosecutor has to ask more hard questions.
He instantly, during paranoia, adjusted the timeline specifically. "I was at my moms house about an hour hour and a half, and I saw them about 45 minutes before that."
What sealed his fate for me, besides the kennel video, was when Alex said there was noone else there according to him AND the dogs....BUSTED YOURSELF....
Yeah. I was wondering if he says he didn't do it but there was no sign of anyone else "the dogs didn't know" then who could have murdered his wife and child? Wonder if the jury caught that line.

Ive watched this 50 times. Im obsessed with it. Its easy to tell every time he lies.
Same. I heard something I hadn’t before. AM says ‘when Maggie asked me to leave.. I mean go with her…’. I wonder if that’s what happened; she asked him to leave the property and he snapped.
I've caught that as well. He told on him self right there. Every time I watch it I catch something else
Me, too. Hear new things every time.
And the lies….oh my goodness, so obvious
You still watching?
I also love watching closing arguments...epic
Every time I watch this, more of Creighton’s strategy and excellence shines through. Creighton Waters please train others around you in your ways! The emotional intelligence and insight into Alex is incredible.

I find it hard to believe this is the 3rd time I’ve watched this entire cross-examination. Still riveting.
When you lie, it’s harder to keep your story straight. Being married to him must have been a nightmare. Except for the cars, boats, houses. What a mess.
Honey she was one Of BILLIONS..men are bad news period
After listening to that 911 call about their housekeeper she seem to be involved and probably knew he was stealing . If someone fell down my steps and was bleeding out I would be way more panicked than she was .
@Linda K I'd be willing to say that Maggie probably knew her husband was a liar, but stayed for all the luxuries you've mentioned; sad, but it seems so many of these cases involve money and people living high on the hog these days; some pay the ultimate price for that stuff in the end!

Its the cringiest fuckin thing. Paw Paw, Mags, Bus, Ro Ro, Papa T, Bubba, blah blah blah. Oh boy does Alex think he's coming off so endearing and sweet. What a moron, it's nuts.
Tell me I'm not the only one who merely views this as entertainment and since the crime did not affect me in any way I don't care or didn't care if he was found guilty or not..
Dude literally never uses the nickname in any of the other interviews, but suddenly when he's on the stand he brings it out for sympathy. Disgusting.
He said he was on the phone with 911 while checking Paul, but 911 starts recording before anyone answers...he wasn't making a sound...you could hear dogs barking in the background, then as soon as the 911 operator answers he starts making crying sounds...I wonder why this wasn't mentioned in court.
Yes agree, I pondered over the same thought!
Not necessary.
The jurors picked up on what we did.

He stole millions of dollars from his law firm and it wasn’t detected for 9 years? It sounds like someone wasn’t doing their job.
After hearing what the top accountant said…I think it is very easy to steal money in law firms because of the massive amount of millions they bring in.
Or every other lawyer does the same thing.
She wasn’t properly doing her job.

Oh, I totally agree, what a total BS liar he is... 60 pills a day.... total BS
OK i dont know much about the case an I definitely believe from what I do know he's GUILTY, also having to use that much money on pills alone I find HIGHLY unlikely, having said that I just want to clarify something about medication. Yes how in the hell did nobody notice Alex's theft for that many years?
He had the position, the paperwork and the authority to finagle sons around that didn't at the time seem suspicious.. you can just look at his lifestyle and the fact he is raising two teenage sons as to where all the money went..

He had multiple houses, boats, all kinds of things he could have sold to pay back his debts and he just kept stealing and borrowing money. Just proves how selfish he is. The fact that he clearly struggles throughout this cross-examination indicates his guilt. An innocent man's truthful testimony would have flowed flawlessly, yet this is actually painful to watch because he is a guilty man consciously trying to cover his tracks.

"I called 911 and talked to her and told her i was going to get off the phone and call some people" ~
So he did an entire 911 call while finding something unbelievably horrific, doesn't say what he's seeing, holding a phone in one hand tried to "take his pulse" (which he didnt do) then still using only one hand tried to turn him over, "I figured it out" which is when the phone "popped" out of his pocket, still using one hand and not telling the 911 operator exactly what he sees, says he picked up Paul's phone, "thinking maybe, but then I decided no, something and decided not to, put it back down on the ground- - all still using one hand?
He said "They were shot"
Hahaha… so true.
That part. Called out the method of homicide immediately.
His wife was leaving him. She had already moved out and separated. That very week she had an appointment with a divorce attorney and was on to him.
How can he sit up there justifying he cares and loves his clients after robbing them?
Let me re-phrase for AM: "He cares and love's his clients "SETTLEMENTS" so much he has to steal them!
1:28:23 every time I’ve listened back to hear Alex make this statement I get chills. I wonder if his lawyers were cringing in their seats. Dead giveaway to guilt (among others). Sigh. What a sad horrible tragedy. No matter every other piece of guilty dirty filth, no one deserves to be gunned down like this by their loved one. Deplorable.

@@MR-in8bl the Murdaugh cringe felt around the world.
To be a thief is unbelievably horrible and greedy. To be an habitual liar is really bad, but to kill your wife and son, is subhuman. He’s ruined his family name forever.
That's what unchecked power does, it corrupts
@@wjb4578 absolutely.
Their last name should be changed to Murdaugh-ers. Dad and both sons have killed ppl.
His boys ruined their name remember, the boating accident stirred the pot then that lead to the Steven case to be looked into which lead them to have Alec shot in the head, which lead to Roberta's death being looked into. That family had blood all over their hands.
Family name should be his least care! Being a double murderer might just be a little more important. Don't you think?
See how he lies, reels back, acknowledges his lies, and then lies again.
He should run for

So smoothly and effortlessly, glad he took the stand as we got to know the real AM.
Wow! 30mg per pill? 100 pills= 3,000 and you didn’t overdose? No shortness of breathing, no respiratory or cardiac arrests? And AM can still represent his clients in court and win cases in millions of dollars? Wow and he can focus well especially in misleading, stealing all those millions from his clients? Unbelievable.
An attorney is not in court every day or every week. I don't believe it was 100 pills a day but either way AM is a liar and a convicted murderer
And being overweight. Never seen an overweight opiate addict.
From unfortunate personal experience, with full blown opiate addiction and the means to fund it, the most I was ever able to consume in a days time was 10 30mg roxies. And at times I’d nod off and wake up from complete apnea. I was 240 pds back then as well and also consuming high doses of stimulants. Complete and utter nonsense to believe any human could survive a third of that amount… A lie must atleast be within the realm of humanly possible to be believed. Lol
@@coreystreet7300 I agree. Alex is lying his whole testimony. Nothing he says can be believed. The jury read through his lies and rendered the correct verdict. Even for doubters, common sense proves that Alex did it. If Alex did not do it then who did? He was the only person at the murder scene so he is the one who did it.
Yup...hes full of it. No way he had a tolerance like that.
It's sickening listening to him in police interview's just using Maggie and Paul in describing his wife and son but yet in the witness box in front of the jury calling them his pet name's Mag's and Paw Paw as if it make's him look like the loving husband. Sick SOAB.☘
His snorting would drive me crazy
What a complete utter narcissist. Thinks he can break down the prosecution by with mumbling, and trying to destroy evidence. He has no idea that his testimony is just falling to pieces!
Love doesn't steal love doesn't lie love doesn't manipulate those are all actions of an abuser. And you cannot be an abuser and love your victim at the same time

Mark Tinsley was one of the most intelligent, articulate and honorable men to testify. He cares for his clients. He even said that Alec’s lawyer Tiller was his friend. That wasn’t very smart to make it seem like Mark was lying about the lawyers conference and Alec approaching him regarding the boat case. I believe Mr. Tinsley.
Yes, you can see he does care for his clients.
This guy doesn't know the meaning of A STRAIGHT ANSWER....he thinks he is talking to his therapist...sniffing
2:25:48 "You runnin' in place and making phone calls? Is that what you're doin'?" hit so funny. The mental picture.
Obfuscate is a word I have never used before nor could I spell or pronounce it , but Alex Murdaugh knows it every which way , the dictionary explains it as " intending to conceal the truth by confusion " I think the jury were aware of this and could see this guy talks with a forked tongue .
In a non-legal setting that gift of gab works wonders though. I use it daily
Playing dumb is universally used to get out of trouble. Almost everyone does it
The way the prosecution team was just staring at him, they’re probably thinking this man is just ridiculous with his lies and just looks at him with fixation while he was lying is just priceless to me.
Even some of the males sitting on his family’s side one of the guys is listening and then looks back at other family members, they know he’s lying.
I also like how Walters just relentlessly reminds him how he’s changed his story giving new information constantly.☺️☺️

He never said “get rid of Paul”. 🙄
@@Iamsam-jl5fn
It was said that a staff person overheard him saying it at the hospital when Alex was visiting him. Because he had caused the family a lot of money and trouble. He was the reason Alex was being sued for all that money. Had he lived they would have taken him for almost everything. By him dying the cases were closed and they were no loner be sued. I believe it was mentioned in one of the documentaries that he had said this more than once years ago.
@@IGb4mwcbam46 he said “Take care of Paul”.
I believe the reason for Paul’s murder is because of the money he was costing them from the boating accident and I believe Maggie may have walked in on what was happening and he had to get rid of her too. However it may have happened, it was so so cruel and selfish and not to mention heartbreaking.
I find this case so ironic. Attorney/Prosecutor against an Evil Attorney. These kinds of psychopaths are everywhere in life and shockingly even within the law system itself. Truly makes one wonder who can you can trust anymore. What a scary world we live in.💔
Agreed - basically trust only yourself and no one else ultimately.

Ikr smh he makes me sick knowing he is a lie😡
I don’t know how the jury sat through all this mind without losing their minds!
He’s buying time with long winded answers to think of a response
This man could not tell the truth about the color of grass.
Shows the sheer incompetence of the defense to allow this man to testify. I don't believe he answered any question with a 'yes' or 'no' answer - he always provided some kind of context with every rebuttal.
The defence can't stop him. They can only advise him which I have no doubt they tried to stop him
Trouble with him he's a narcissist and thinks he's smarter than anyone else!!!
I read that they tried everything they could to stop him. They knew it wasn’t a good idea. The defense didn’t have a chance the moment that kennel video surfaced
I loved when the judge said to Alex or Als Al, " maybe you didn't do it... the monster you became did it" ( something like that). For a brief second or two Alex..Als Al, thought the judge wasn't sure he did it. Until the judge finished his sentence and added the monster you became did it.
@richardwood9290 yes Richard. I could see Alex chomping on the bit with a second of hearing the judge say maybe he didn't do it. Then Alex got shut down when judge finished his sentence. And a part of me hopes it was intentional from the judge.
Also when he said "And for the murder of Paul the son you PROBABLY love so much". DAMN.
@@kc-lp6wg yes, epic
Alex always refers to the murders as them being “hurt” he never refers to them as being killed or murdered.
Yes! I noticed that, too!
@@song4mozart - He also stated “I would never “hurt” Maggie and I would never “hurt” Paw Paw. He can’t use the word murder or kill.
I think he separated it in his head. In his head, he was only hurting them, not murdering them. He was hurting them a little, probably sparing them from more hurt in the future in his mind.
Because he is arrogant and manipulative. He had to be seething with anger that he was charged and being held accountable for his monstrous behavior. He doesn’t want to use the word "murder" because he feels that would be submitting to the Prosecutor. He does (did) the same thing when he repeatedly said "I don't dispute that" instead of just saying "I would agree" to the Prosecutor. It means the same damn thing but he is trying to retain some control over the Proscutor and the questioning. This man's arrogance on the stand is palpable, all the while trying to get the jury to like him by repeatedly saying "I stole people's money, I lied, I misled" blah, blah, blah. I guess the jury eventually gave him the shock of his life. 👍👍👍
I heard him say when Maggie was killed
Every drug addict in town is able to engage in complicated thefts 🤣
"What were you doing while you were taking 283 steps?" If Alex was as sharp as he thinks he is, he might have used this opportunity to bolster his "drug addiction" defense. "Looking in all of the places where I have hidden pills in the past".
truth
It’s really odd that he clearly knows how to do that, and in many instances he just gives up and tells on himself.
It's like the entire idea of answering questions is bizarre to him.
I can’t decide if it’s more lucrative to be an ambulance chaser or drug dealer? This is insane.
I no longer feel like a loser after seeing this.
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh! He slipped up on one thing that would add to motive!
When asked about liquid assets he said Mozelle is in Maggie's name and has SUBSTANTIAL EQUITY, and the other properties in both their names would need her signature for a loan or sale. Unless he has someone willing to accept a signature without her present.
