    very cool. I live in CT and want an AR really bad. The laws make it very difficult to avoid being a criminal on any given day. So i might give this a try. Plus 9mm is MUCH cheaper than 5.56. And thats good for me

      I have my AR set up from my time working private sector overseas in the GWOT are of the mid-late 2000's. I have pretty extensive experience with tactical shooting&moving, and aside from just knocking the dust off every so often... I don't train with it at all. For most any situation in general defense training, civil unrest, etc... I'm picking up a Ruger PCC and it will be my go-to tool. If I need to get into a true battle situation (lol), I'll sling the AR. Otherwise, aside from- like I said- just knocking the dust off every so often just to keep the motor skills going... I wll be training up with the PCC from now on. Cheaper ammo, cheaper to train, more convenient... and probably just as good in all but the most dire situations. (And if it's that dire, I'm rolling over to a .308 gas gun, anyway, so... Moral of the story. WHile AR's have the cool factor, don't feel like you're missing out. If I didn't own mine for 20 yrs already, I probably wouldn't with options like a simple but effective PCC. Peace.

      **good solid gun but Ruger screwed up in not upsizing it and re-chambering it for 10mm and 45acp.
      **Instead they went with a different design that cost almost twice as much.

    One of my biggest regrets is not buying a few more of these when they first came out and not a single person wanted them. A gun shop here had them on clearance for a heavy loss to just get rid of their stock because nobody had wanted these at first. I could have gotten 4 for what they are going for now. I love mine, but boy do I regret not haven bought more off that clearance shelf.

    I wish we could get the Magpul stock without the takedown and tiny handguard. I have the x-22 style stock on several Rugers (22lr, 308 and 6.5 cm) and it's perfect. I see you have the Magpul butt stock, but the crom chassis is heavy. I would prefer a fully synthetic, one piece stock.

    • @dactacical
      @dactacical  8 месяцев назад +1

      Well just our opinion it’s a great rifle that you can use for 100 yards. It’s something you can defend yourself with there’s always something bigger and better out there but for the price of a nine mil you get to do a lot of stuff within that hundred yard line, not to mention there are a lot of fun add-ons for this rifle. It’s also what you’re setting it up for. If you’re looking for something long range obviously this is not the rifle You want to use. But if it’s something that you want to go out shoot and train with and possibly prepare for the zombie apocalypse, it’s a good option. I also agree with you in the last couple years we have gotten into the years of the pistol caliber carbines.

    • @ClayBlasdel44
      @ClayBlasdel44 8 месяцев назад

      but why pistol calibers?@@dactacical

    • @dactacical
      @dactacical  8 месяцев назад +1

      Well, I can’t speak for everybody, but I can tell you why for me. One coming back to California two years ago we really don’t have a lot of solid center fire rifles that are Modernized. Opening up Duck And Cover tactical that was the hardest thing to find a California legal modernized rifle that’s reliable that you can defend yourself with that you can go target shooting with and enjoy yourself with and customize. Here in California we have a neutered, A.R. 15. So I started looking at rifles on something that could be modernized customized and have a good time with that will also fit the needs for me in certain situations whether it’s target shooting zombie apocalypse, or having the ability to defend myself. I PC at first I wasn’t super stoked about a 9 mm or pistol caliber rifle Just like most people. Then I started breaking it down and looking at it. Lotta people have an AR platform or 556 platform the argument is I can shoot 500 yards with My 556 rifle platform, Then you look at how they’re set up and they have a Reflex sight And their zone did 100 yards with no way to truly adjusted on the fly. The area I’m in most people that I see or set up for 100 yards are in we started looking at ballistic damage for the 9 mm at 100 yards we were pretty happy with it it was acceptable to us. So we started a platform that can do all these things that we liked. We also checked out the third-party support of the PC carving which we found a couple companies are doing quite a bit of things for the pc carbine. As far as the 9 mm round goes, it’s a cheaper round that you can put down range and have a variety of ammo. Plus on top of that 9 mm is extremely readily available just like 556 and 76 2 x 39. I will say a big appeal that a lot of customers as well as myself has had has been that you’re able to take your Glock if you own a Glock your 19 or 17 and use the magazines for that so you’re not buying two different types of magazines. Back to the 9 mm round itself. It’s something that’s going to get the job done regardless of whatever you’re using the rifle for within that hundred yards.

      @@ClayBlasdel44the MP5 has been a PCC for decades, used by SWAT, special forces, and civilians alike. It’s a tried, true, and proven capable plateform/caliber that gives more stability, range, and versatility than a handgun in the same chambering. I could go on, but you seem to have your mind made up. To each their own.
