Great video. I run brakes and a different model of the Geissele. Next is the JP captured-spring. You’re running way flatter than all of mine. Love the stance tips too. Great tips - thank you!!!
If budget is important to you go with the Larue Tactical MBT flat trigger for half the price of Geissele and every bit as good. Also, instead of the JP buffer systems go with the Armaspec stealth recoil captured buffer for half the price. Armaspec makes one that is tuneable and comes with three buffer weights.
@@jwalesoutlaw3294I have both and there is definitely a difference between the armaspec and the jp. The jp just feels like it’s better quality imo. I was honestly impressed with the armaspec for the price tho.
The ARMASPEC captrued buffer is the best one I've seen. It has an extra stage of spring tension over the JP style. It's also way cheaper. Little Creek Trading sells the armaspec buffers for like $60.
REQUEST: Aero Precision M5 build, closely matching the flat shooting rifle you used in this video, but use the same or equivalent buffer setup, trigger, and brake.
@@kentwilliams3483I think it depends. I had a easier time controlling recoil that way, but whatever works works. Don’t wanna hold your rifle like a bitch either just to drop it
I bought the JP captured spring H2 and have the Adams Arms lightweight bolt carrier piston kit with adjustable gas block. Then combined it with the Fostech Echo 2 with the 2lb light trigger kit. Then combined it with the YHM Turbo T2. For a piston gun, it barely recoils. This video helped me put it together. 😊
@@skeetyjohnson6074 the one that comes with the H2 version. I’ve been messing with the extra tungsten weight to tune it even further. Gets up to H3 now.
I got the JP recoil spring in 2020. It’s a game changer. I have a good brake and CNMG trigger that I polished. Also got the sharks rifle co bolt. All 4 make for a great shooting weapon
Vltor A5 + a well gassed barrel for a less gamy, more robust recoil deletion. Bonus points for having the brains to tune your rifle to defeat overgassing from a suppressor. AR's are incredibly simple and there are no silver bullets, your rifle will shoot as smooth as it's gassing allows.
Theres alot of things you can do to almost completely delete felt recoil. A JP low mass BCG gives you less reciprocating mass, combines with a tuned JP silent capture spring with lighter rings, a tuned superlative arms adjustable gas block with bleed off, a muzzle break pushing gas opposite your rifles recoil pattern (usually high right), and a FAB defense GLshock stock which has a spring that removes some felt recoil (much more noticeable on an AR10). The combination of all of these with a proper stance with make a .223 feel like a 22lr.
You are 100% right. I have two RR ARs and I put Geissele SSA triggers in them. They are super. Fast lockup, very fast shooters, just like you were doing. There is no need for auto or burst mode when a trigger will do the exactly same thing and more controllable. I'll be comparing these single stage triggers to Geissel's and if lacking they will be changed. I'll look into the buffers you mentioned too and see what the deal is. Thanks. P
I run JP buffers, an adjustable gas system, and Triggertech 1.5" diamond single stages in all my rifles now.... Cheaper than a binary and pulls double duty as a super precise trigger.
I run the JP buffer system as well and have fir a few years now. At first I only noticed a minimal difference. After picking up a ruger SR5.56 which uses a standard buffer, I really noticed the difference between a standard buffer vs the JP.
@@commiesnzombiesI doubt it would change a huge amount. You’re still firing a massive bullet, that is what really effects the recoil, or rather causes so much.
i've had my arken 24x for years and love it. Great video, running precision armaments' hypertap on the 556 set up and love it, i found a timney single stage with awesome reset. been ripping good splits with that, sounds like that buffer would be icing on the cake brother thanks for the info. keep up the amazing work man and stay frosty
Highly recommend trying out the Blackout Defense Zero trigger, it’s said to have no take up no post travel 2mm positive reset and a variety of finishes shoes and poundages!
Also isn’t cast like a Geissele (and is cheaper) Thanks for getting this video out, I’ve seen a lot of people say the JP system doesn’t do much but hear that brakes and agbs are best, seeing you not need an adjustable gas block is promising (unless you’ve struck gold by only shooting perfectly factory gassed barrels) The trigger element is definitely true as well when it comes to speed The above trigger is supposedly incredible for speed while not sacrificing safety or being too geared towards something like competitive shooting Love the content as always, can’t wait to get back on the range and put some of this to practice!
@mc5givemehelmet783 A captured spring buffer system compared to traditional spring and buffer is quite a difference. It's like driving a solid axle Jeep on a bumpy road and then getting into a Cadillac. With one you hear and feel everything thing and with the other you glide along on a cloud. A captured system reduces felt recoil and it removes the distracting sound and cheese grater feel of the spring and buffer cycling in the buffer tube.
@@carbonking53 even if not drastically better in feel, the spring and weight tune-ability of the SCS is highly appealing for recoil control, even if the standard configuration doesn’t make a night and day difference. However I’m seeing people say that hydraulic buffers are better for recoil feel/reduction, honestly I just need to save money and test a few setups and then see what’s best Bottom line I want a reliable but smooth gun without changing the gas block barrel bolt carrier or muzzle device Don’t trust agbs and don’t wanna have to spend months researching them Know the barrel I want to use so I can’t just get a barrel with a tighter gas port Running suppressor specific muzzle devices And prefer milspec weight BCGs, although something like a geissele lmt sionics or Q bcg would all be possibilities, just not any of the low mass stuff or anything highly specialized
Kynshot buffers are the cat's meow. I've never tried the JP, but I have these in my AR and my Banshee 9 mm and boy do they do a good job mitigating recoil, along with a good muzzle brake and great trigger of course!
One of the things that i tried out years ago, and converted everything else to instantly, is the A5 buffer system.. the bcm mk2 system with the T2 buffer works fantastic for both my 14.5" and 16" mid length uppers. Im hoping its heavy enough for running suppressed but i'll find out in about a year 😅
+1 on the Vltor A5. I installed one on my CMMG Resolute 5.56, with a Sprinco Green Spring and I can't get over how much it changed that rifle! I just wonder what the difference would be between that and the JP setup?
@thebadlander3608 have to agree to disagree, I don't know which Gen you own, I have the Gen 2 and three pins pull apart clean and put back together. It is easy to maintain, and the recoil is very manageable.
I've tried both the JPE captured buffer spring and the Geissele Super 42 braided buffer spring and buffer. I prefer the Geissele and run it in all my ARs. You can get a great deal on these on Black Friday too.
The jp captured spring is def way better then the geissle super 42. Imho the geissle is just a buffer and a spring. That whole double coil spring is just bs snake oil it does nothing differently that a regular buffer and spring does. The jp is light years ahead of the geissle. I actually think the jp is worth the money. In all my other builds that has a regular colt buffer and spring i actually use a jp 20 dollar polished buffer spring. The geissle is just way overpriced for what it is.
@@Citizendefenseindustry LOLOL the Geissele Super 42 is not just a "double spring." It's fine to have a different opinion, but please actually know what you're talking about.

I have a 7.5inch 308 with the armaspec SRS buffer system and a cmc 3.5lb trigger. The recoil was about what you’d expect from a short light 308 when I had a linear comp on it. I swapped to a Lancer Viper brake and the gun barely moves if at all. It’s insane what a difference that made.

Agreed. 100% doesn't matter what ya got. Aero are great rifles. For you folks that are cheap like me and just want to learn how to shoot much faster with your current setup learn how to FLOAT THE RIFLE! Essentially don't pull it tight into your shoulder like everyone says. Have it just barely touching your shoulder. Push forward with your front hand and allow the gun to move. Now your recoil is going straight back so your dot stays in the same place. So don't try to hold the rifle tighter that's why you keep fading high right. Let that bisch float and recoil straight back
This is going in my "stuff people should buy" playlist. I am curious about your recommendations for other platforms. The AR-15 and AR-10 specifically are the simplest to get a "zero recoil" feel that I've found, given how the original AR-10 was engineered around making .308 not kick like a mule without making the gun super heavy. 5.56 feels like it doesn't quite need direct impingement or a buffer tube in order to get flat recoil, though. I haven't been able to get my hands on some guns long enough to experiment with attachments, but I've noticed that the G36 clones from Tommybuilt are pretty smooth.
The first time I watched this video, I already had an Armaspec 4.7 oz H2 captured buffer and a SureFire WarComp three prong muzzle device on my AR, so I figured "why not?" and ordered the SD3G trigger. I threw it in today and wow...what a crisp piece that is! I haven't fired it yet and I won't have time for at least a couple of weeks, but it changed the feel of the gun for sure.

Then I found my old steel cased TulAmmo and Wolf steel cased ammo, thought I’d shoot it up and only have good stuff. You know what happened, about a 50% failure rate to lock back the bolt and my ejection pattern wasn’t close. Glad I found out before it mattered. Had to readjust everything. Trigger has no bearing on recoil management. Changing the apeing weight and/or the buffer weight will reduce felt recoil. Complaining about the sound of said spring is amateur hour. Muzzle device is the most important factor for recoil/muzzle control.

The MBT is more like a third of the 3GS.
Or get the JP scs and feel the difference
@@jwalesoutlaw3294I have both and there is definitely a difference between the armaspec and the jp. The jp just feels like it’s better quality imo. I was honestly impressed with the armaspec for the price tho.
My Armaspec disassembled itself inside my buffer tube after only 100 rounds. JP from now on.
Buy a JP
0:24 every FED's nightmare
The ARMASPEC captrued buffer is the best one I've seen. It has an extra stage of spring tension over the JP style. It's also way cheaper. Little Creek Trading sells the armaspec buffers for like $60.
Little Creek Trading appears to be out of business
REQUEST: Aero Precision M5 build, closely matching the flat shooting rifle you used in this video, but use the same or equivalent buffer setup, trigger, and brake.
Put an Ultradyne Apollo comp on my 6.8 SPC build. Made a huge difference. Best guess, at least 1/3 recoil reduction. Highly recommended
The biggest thing is pulling the rifle into your shoulder with your support hand fairly tight.
I recently saw a video that showed how you should push/wrap your shoulder I to the rifle and not pull the rifle into your shoulder.
No...the biggest thing is the brake. LoL get the fuck outta here.
@@kentwilliams3483I think it depends. I had a easier time controlling recoil that way, but whatever works works. Don’t wanna hold your rifle like a bitch either just to drop it
Definitely that muzzle device is helping that recoil I need one for my ar
I bought the JP captured spring H2 and have the Adams Arms lightweight bolt carrier piston kit with adjustable gas block. Then combined it with the Fostech Echo 2 with the 2lb light trigger kit. Then combined it with the YHM Turbo T2. For a piston gun, it barely recoils. This video helped me put it together. 😊
What spring did use on the jp captured kit
@@skeetyjohnson6074 the one that comes with the H2 version. I’ve been messing with the extra tungsten weight to tune it even further. Gets up to H3 now.

I got the JP recoil spring in 2020. It’s a game changer. I have a good brake and CNMG trigger that I polished. Also got the sharks rifle co bolt. All 4 make for a great shooting weapon
Great, but still using anemic ammo according to US veteran in Iraq.
I have the BCM buffer system. Very similar to the Vltor A5.
It really shocked me. Glad I gambled on it now.
@@toynazi literally a licensed copy of a VLTOR design, same for their handguards.
@@spacecaesar7619 Ahh I see. I got a deal on it. Glad I bought it.
I like to tweak my rifles and smooth them out as much as possible.
@@NeverEndinShow things you could get away with on a competition rifle sure. 3 gun is incredibly gay however so 🤷♂️
You are 100% right.
Same: forgot how good it was till I ran a new build with standard buff and spring.
You run the standard or heavy??
@@WTXHouseofHorrorr I run the standard
think it would tame the recoil on a 450 bushmaster AR carbine, the thing kicks like a mule with the standard 556 lower set up
@@commiesnzombiesI doubt it would change a huge amount. You’re still firing a massive bullet, that is what really effects the recoil, or rather causes so much.
@PewView you may not be a professional but you are doing tha damn thing like one. Thank you young Sir.
i've had my arken 24x for years and love it. Great video, running precision armaments' hypertap on the 556 set up and love it, i found a timney single stage with awesome reset. been ripping good splits with that, sounds like that buffer would be icing on the cake brother thanks for the info. keep up the amazing work man and stay frosty
I spit out my drink laughing at how immensely flat that rifle stayed thru your intro. Glad I saw this as I'm doing my first ever build...
I like the no-nonsense approach to your channel. Nice work meng.

Highly recommend trying out the Blackout Defense Zero trigger, it’s said to have no take up no post travel 2mm positive reset and a variety of finishes shoes and poundages!
Also isn’t cast like a Geissele (and is cheaper)
Thanks for getting this video out, I’ve seen a lot of people say the JP system doesn’t do much but hear that brakes and agbs are best, seeing you not need an adjustable gas block is promising (unless you’ve struck gold by only shooting perfectly factory gassed barrels)
The trigger element is definitely true as well when it comes to speed
The above trigger is supposedly incredible for speed while not sacrificing safety or being too geared towards something like competitive shooting
Love the content as always, can’t wait to get back on the range and put some of this to practice!
I’ve heard that a few times! I’ll check one out
@mc5givemehelmet783 A captured spring buffer system compared to traditional spring and buffer is quite a difference.
However I’m seeing people say that hydraulic buffers are better for recoil feel/reduction, honestly I just need to save money and test a few setups and then see what’s best
Bottom line I want a reliable but smooth gun without changing the gas block barrel bolt carrier or muzzle device
Don’t trust agbs and don’t wanna have to spend months researching them
Know the barrel I want to use so I can’t just get a barrel with a tighter gas port
Running suppressor specific muzzle devices
And prefer milspec weight BCGs, although something like a geissele lmt sionics or Q bcg would all be possibilities, just not any of the low mass stuff or anything highly specialized
"I am not a professional" - sheesh, one of the best. Entertaining and educational. Thank you
Thanks for the tips. I’m working on parts list for a build and you’ve helped me out just now. Thanks again!
Legitimately one of the most informative videos ive seen from a guntuber. Parts ordered. Will try technique as well.
An adjustable gas system is also a great way to cut it, especially paired with a low mass bcg
Kynshot buffers are the cat's meow. I've never tried the JP, but I have these in my AR and my Banshee 9 mm and boy do they do a good job mitigating recoil, along with a good muzzle brake and great trigger of course!
I have KYN in 3 of my rifles and anytime I switch to a rifle that doesn't have it just doesn't feel right lol
One of the things that i tried out years ago, and converted everything else to instantly, is the A5 buffer system.. the bcm mk2 system with the T2 buffer works fantastic for both my 14.5" and 16" mid length uppers. Im hoping its heavy enough for running suppressed but i'll find out in about a year 😅
I run VLTOR A5, BCM, and JP
You're gonna want an adjustable gas block.

I prefer the the JP captured spring.
I am not seeing much for Black Friday deals on their website..

People do not understand just how much concussive force this will cause. If you are not the shooter you will not be able to resist flinching.
