Looks like it’s time to get one!
I’m from the UK so unfortunately can’t :(
I appreciate you recommending a modified safety setup while still emphasizing safety and the use of a mechanical safe setup.
love how funny, straight forward, and blunt you are. straight to the point and no BS. upmost respect to you shawn, thank you for your service.
First off I want to thank you for your service as a SEAL and in the CIA. I'm a LEO and have a tremendous amount of respect for the things you have done. The mindset, the amount of training and sacrifice you have given is unheard of. There is a reason there are a small number of people who do what you do. This was the first video on your channel that I watched but have seen almost every one you've done now. I appreciate your honesty and no bullshit approach to this topic. I also appreciate your honesty about what this job has done to you. I watched your episode on anxiety last night and it takes a real man to have that type of honesty in front of the entire world. Keep doing what you are doing Sir.
Dude, you’re the greatest. I don’t know you personally, but you seem like a very genuine, real dude. We need more of those in today’s world.

for real. I've only ever watched his latest stuff, after his journey. i could tell immediately this was an older vid. checked the date...sure enough, 3 years old
180? God damn what was he like before? It’s like watching a 13 year old who doesn’t want to be there. Also, his personality just sucks. He’s lecturing. I feel like I’m being yelled at and I should feel bad.
Edit, I see. It’s 4 years old. I’ll look at a new one. Hopefully he smiles a bit.
I was thinking the same thing, he's totally different

but then he recommends civilians get a ~$4500 warsport gun that isn't even in business any longer. mixed signals from this guy. some great advice mixed with some horrible bits too.
Steve Moore he is just saying. Your right but humans will be human. I don't like leaving negative comments unless totally called for. How about the tournament man? Don't think I will be mounting one of those on my gun. Sure hope I never need it. Peace out
Been following Shawn for a minute now.. this early video makes a guy appreciate the time Shawn’s put into all this keep up the great work..

Damnit shawn, 10 months later i come back to this just to show my friends why i love your videos. Congrats on the goats don't ever stop making videos please.
This video is 4 years old, I’ve recently watched many of your new videos and podcasts and I have to say I can tell you’ve went through some exponential changes. Here you were more direct and what some may say ‘assholish’. Today you’re still direct but much more diplomatic.
Same sentiment Shawn has come a long way from this older video to his newer stuff. The psychedelic stuff worked for him then his faith kicking in at the right time it was meant to. ❤️watching your episodes Shawn keep up the excellent work and Thanks for your service.

Agreed 100% on the sling preference for a military use 👌🏿
I like a 2 to 1 point as well, but I'm surprised he prinarily stays in 1 point config and fights like that.
I use the 1 point feature strictly for getting in armored tactical vehicles, which are always tight as hell, especially the truck commander seat.
Single point also makes sure you dont get hung up in a doorway, especially if you have to back out quickly.
@@mattnsac true but you if you need to run with your hands full, or transition to pistol, it ends up banging around your legs and knees.
Tradeoffs, pros and cons I guess.
@@JP-wk7cc Know of a guy that died because his two point held him up on a doorway when haji came around the corner and opened up on him. Being able to switch to a 2 point is perfect, but doing an entry with one is something I wouldnt do.
@@mattnsac I'm sorry to hear that a man lost his life from something so trivial. How does the sling get caught? I'm having a hard time visualizing this.
I love how he doesn’t always knows the exact terms for parts and shit. He’s just an operator. He’s like Cole Trickle from Days of Thunder. Couldn’t tell ya about parts of cars. But can drive the f out of em.
Haha. Forreals. I always felt kinda dumb cause I didn't know/remember the name of parts when trying to explain to a civilian (I'm former ARMY). Everything was always, "this f'n s*** here."

I'm not a spec-op dude, just a JarHead, and I've always took shit from friends I shoot with about my simple set up's on all my rigs, despite the fact that my groupings are always WAY tighter than THEIR'S!!...and here I come across a seasoned dude like Shawn who's been there, done that, proving credibility in that mindset that keeping it "SIMPLE STUPID" is far more reliable when the asphalt meets the tire!!....never seen a iron site fail, short of getting broke off!!....And YES I'm in full agreement with the point made about FKN with the safety, I myself like that firm snappy click on mine that leaves no doubt about whether I'm EVER gonna have an AD do to sloppiness on that extremely important issue!!....I also Hone, then Polish my Mil-Spec trigger disconnector's for a smooth 3 to 4 LB pull and experiment with different weights and spring tensions till I get the perfect smooth balanced full cycling I'm looking for, instead of using adjustable gas blocks, with again emphasis on reliability!!...TY for sharing Shawn!!👍...Awesome break down!!....0331...1/8

I watched this video 4 yrs ago. I didn’t comment or thumbs up . I watched from start to finish with much of the information being the template for the rifle I would soon customize. For those who are still discovering this video and maybe if Shawn is still monitoring the comments. When you were talking about the BAD lever and wondering why people use it. I shoot my rifles left handed and pistols right handed so when I was with the Rangers, I always had a BAD lever on my rifle and still do, because it allows my right thumb to drop the bolt after I reload.
