- Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we’re discussing the 5 captivating works of Beedle the Bard. Specifically, we’re going to be diving in to who Beedle was, what lessons his stories teach, what they’re about and how his stories have so effectively managed to stand the test of time.
Within the realm of Harry Potter, Beedle the Bard is a renowned author whose stories have been cherished by generations of witches and wizards. His collection of magical fables, aptly titled "The Tales of Beedle the Bard," holds a special place in the hearts of fans worldwide.
“‘You’ve never heard of The Tales of Beedle the Bard?’ Ron asked Hermione incredulously in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This just about sums up why the tales are so special. For centuries, the fables have been the staple of wizarding childhoods, the sound of bedtime stories. To children who grew up in wizarding families, ‘the Hopping Pot and the Fountain of Fair Fortune are as familiar’ to them ‘as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty are to Muggle children’.”
Beedle's tales provide us with delightful glimpses into the rich folklore of the wizarding world.
As we explore his works, let us not only marvel at the magic and wonder encapsulated within these timeless stories but also reflect on the wisdom they impart. Each of these tales offer a wealth of knowledge and understanding, presenting us with valuable life lessons and thought-provoking dilemmas to contemplate.
Without further ado, let’s dive in to it.

Listened to these stories on Audible, so fun! Read it maybe 2 or so weeks ago, and Jude Law pops in as Dubbledore to read a bit of his perspective thru a few letters made before Half Blood Prince. Pretty sweet
Think they are more comparable to Aesop's fables than fairy tales. Aesop's fables always tried to teach a wise lesson where fairy tales were more to scare kids to do what you wanted them to or just a story.
Got to say - I’ve been really enjoying the longer videos recently! Really great work!
Thanks Leo! It's going to be pretty much all long format stuff moving forward- every Tuesday and Friday! Focusing on a little more quality and a little less quantity!
I love the 2nd story with the maze! I expected a betrayal 😅 but they all trusted each other and everyone received a small blessing for their humbleness
I think an important factor is the word Bard in his name, bards verbally pass down through generations the local folklore in song or poetic format, so its likely his stories had some element of truth skewed over time by exaggeration and the filling in of gaps to make the stories more interesting. This is further proved by the peverells who most likely made the three hallows themselves, the brothers and the hallows and the ending is correct but their mastery of death has been represented in a more fantastical way in the story. This is probably the same for the other stories.
I had a thought a couple weeks ago about the true identity of beetle the bard.. could it not POSSIBLY be the youngest Peverell brother? Wouldn’t he be the best one to tell the story of the 3 brothers? Since we have so very little info on either man who knows when or where either of them were really born I think it’s a decent possibility
Beedle, not Beetle!
@@davidkennedy8929 sorry, autocorrect got me again.

Thank you! Been waiting for a Beedle The Bard video!😊
I happen to have a copy of the book... The tales are....... Different... But still enjoyable
Love your videos!
Can you please make longer compilations?
I use stuff like this to fall asleep to and your voice/mic is so relaxing to listen to with these stories ❤
I think he can be found on spotify
I do that too.
Beedle the Bard Tales also sounds like Aesop's Fables.
Awsome video!! Long format is really my favorite tbh. Like the short ones but I feel like the longer ones really draw
Me back into the world especially if I haven’t read or played Hogwarts Legacy. It’s been about 3 month now I really am about to dive back into the game ( been looking for a home, then moving into it) so now I have more time and your video came up! Time to dove back into the wizarding world thanks to your content!! Thanks for all you do!!
really great production here
I'm loving these longer videos! Another fantastic 🤩 instalment! Great job mate! Love this channel 😍
Thank-you! Much appreciated
I was just watching order the Phoenix with headphones on, and when Harry was walking in the black house upstairs, you can hear mrs. Blacks painting say scum-of-the-earth 😂😂 it's the first time I've ever heard that painting say anything😂😂
I seriously need to watch more movies with headphones on 😅

@iuliagonta2379 awe, I'm 9 out of 10. Thank you! ❤
These stories inspire me so much, just the titles alone are enigmatic and urge me to write my own. Odo and the toad with Wings, the Wolf and the Vixen, and Bori the Big Oaf.
Fantastic video again thank you for sharing, I find them very interesting and relaxing xx
Glad you like them!
What a charming episode. One of your best. Thank you.
Maybe Beetle the Bard was a true historian of his time and these stories are passed down legendary folk tales. 😊
All your long videos have been awesome
Ah~ how much I enjoy these longer videos.
I particularly enjoyed this one quite much.
Cheers!
@@HarryPotterTheory thanks and keep up the great work.
Well done this was a very enjoyable video
I’ve always enjoyed Harry Potter but it’s always taken a backseat for me next to franchises like Star Wars and Jurassic Park. But I’ve been grinding these for a week and I must say I’m rather music more fond of Harry Potter now that I see how much lore there really is.
Awesome thanks as always
You bet!
I like how its beetle the bard relates back to the current time line of the story through Rita. Rita’s animagus is a beetle and she even convinced Molly to be upset at Hermione through her written work.
It's beedle the bard not beetle
Yeah theres no connection at all.

a Very Good Video 👍🏻
Audible had the first book for free so I gave the series a listen.
I have to say the narration was great.
Just bought this book at goodwill today can’t wait to read it!
Hope you enjoy it!
My headcanon is that The Wizard and the Hopping Pot is about the ancestor(s) of the Potter family. Maybe Iolanthe Peverell's further husband.
Excellent Video 💯
Thank you very much!
The fountain of fair fortune made my emotional sensitive ass cry bro 💀
I can't hear the name Beedle without thinking of Beedle of the Legend of Zelda
OOOOOOOHHH, THAAAAAAAAAAANK YOU
Shadows of Redemption: A Duel of Darkness and Sacrifice
In the heart of the Forbidden Forest, Voldemort stood over Dumbledore's lifeless body, his eyes ablaze with sinister intent. With a twisted grin, he twisted the former headmaster's limbs, infusing his corpse with dark magic until it rose as an Inferius, a grotesque puppet of his will.
Meanwhile, in the dimly lit chamber of Gryffindor Tower, Harry Potter sat alone, grappling with the weight of his destiny. His mind churned with doubts and fears, but amidst the darkness, a flicker of determination burned bright.
Suddenly, a cold wind swept through the room, carrying with it the stench of death and decay. Harry's senses tingled with foreboding as he rose to his feet, his wand clutched tightly in his hand.
The door burst open with a resounding crash, revealing Ron, his eyes wide with panic. "Harry, we have to go," he gasped, his voice trembling with fear.
But before Harry could react, Dumbledore emerged from the shadows, his once-kind eyes now vacant and soulless. Ron staggered back in horror, his wand slipping from his grasp.
"Dumbledore..." Harry whispered, his voice thick with sorrow and disbelief.
But there was no recognition in the Inferius' hollow gaze, only the cold emptiness of Voldemort's dark magic. With a surge of fury, Harry raised his wand, his grip steady and unwavering.
The chamber erupted into chaos as spells flew, casting eerie shadows against the stone walls. Dumbledore's movements were stiff and mechanical, but his magic was still formidable, a testament to the power he had wielded in life.
Harry dodged and weaved, his every instinct honed for battle. His spells crackled with raw energy, each one a testament to his resolve to protect all that he held dear.
But in a moment of distraction, Ron stumbled into the path of Dumbledore's wand, a look of terror etched upon his face. With a flick of his wrist, Dumbledore unleashed a spell unlike any Harry had ever seen, a swirling vortex of dark energy that consumed Ron's very essence.
"No!" Harry cried out, horror and disbelief coursing through him.
But it was too late. Ron's body crumpled to the ground, lifeless and still. Harry's heart shattered as he beheld the lifeless form of his friend, a victim of the darkness that threatened to consume them all.
With a primal scream of anguish, Harry unleashed a torrent of magic unlike anything he had ever known, a blinding burst of light that engulfed the chamber in its brilliance. And in that moment of raw power and emotion, the darkness that had threatened to consume them was banished, replaced by the light of redemption and sacrifice.
The Deathly Hallows are Harry Potter's Ancestors
Addicted to your videos 😋😋
Thank-you!
Well he's no Dandelion that's for sure. 😂
If you think about the invisibility cloak is really the invincibility and invisibility cloak. Since it hides one from death;death can not claim you while you wear it. Hence while you wear it you can not die. Never heard anyone else talk about that 😅
But Draco petrified Harry on the train? Clearly spells still work.
I dare say if a massive chunk of rock fell on someone wearing it during the Battle of Hogwarts, they would be flat, as well as dead. Sure, you could escape Death as an entity, but not as a concept.
@@orphanedhanyou that’s true • but the cloak avoids death not being hit by spells (clearly). Snape also seemed to hear or sense hairy when he was talking to Prof. Quirrell.
@@paden1865able the whole thing about the story of the brothers is that death was a real entity • magic isn’t always dictated by logic (especially in HP lore). As we perceive death and life there is no entity that brings death just as a stork may bring life to a couple (a stork being a baby) but that’s part of that story that to them there was. Even in Harry Potter they didn’t really believe death was a entity on top of that they were children’s tales. But the wand, stone and cloak were real so maybe death was too. If death was a real entity then the cloak would truly keep you from death while worn.
Everybody is asking "Who is Beedle?"
Nobody is asking "How is Beedle?"
This makes Beedle sad.
Moody vs Snape who would win
Harry's pals didn't gasp with amazement upon discovering that he possessed one of the three greatest legendary treasures of the witching world.
I imagine it’s a little difficult to be impressed by rare artifacts when your best friend is pretty much wizard Jesus.
Where does this info come from? Is it cannon?
The book 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard', which exists independently inside of the HP universe.
I physically cannot listen to you while trying to do housework - I get so absorbed and your soothing voice has one of two effects; I listen to 3hrs of your videos while cleaning or I nap…

I believe that Beedle and his stories are all related to the Potter family.
Is the book from Beedle the Bard a real book?
Yes!
@@HarryPotterTheory cool
I've always thought there was something not quite right with Hermione , evil an dormant an ancient .
I'm.glad I found your channel. There is 2 other channels which are good but you are the beat forsure ❤thankyou
Just because you think that you are hearing voices does not mean you are not hearing voices.

The Tale Of The Brothers is my least favorite part of my favorite game Hogwarts Legacy. I get creeped out every time I play that trial.
I liked it!
Warlock’s Hairy Heart was my favourite because it’s so gruesome 😂
Would you mind doing a reading of each story? I would love to hear you tell them word for word.
Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to do that without permission from WB. It’s their intellectual property!
@@HarryPotterTheory Oh I see, it would certainly be worth asking. I would love to listen to your tellings, as I’m sure plenty if not all of us would.
Probably better than Muggle fairy tales.
