@@louisegogel7973exactly, only Harry, Ron, Hermione and kreacher knew about what Regulus had done. Pretty sad, he had to die just to take a Horcrux that neither he nor kreacher could destroy. It's actually a good thing that the torture of his house elf showed him what Voldemort was really like. Obviously kreacher and Regulus were close. Most wizards saw house elves as nothing but servants. But Regulus obviously saw kreacher as a friend, just like Harry and Dobby. Kreacher warmed up to Harry and all his friends when Harry let kreacher keep the fake locket. Remember: "If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals"

Sirius referred to his brother as “soft” and he was very kind to Kreacher even when he did not need to be (given house elf’s were considered servile and inferior beings). Hardly your typical death-eater, even from the start. Then he effectively sacrificed himself rather than forcing Kreacher to suffer the poisoned water again. I know it’s said he truly believed in pure-blood supremacy, but strange then he should risk his life in such a way.
Every bit as brave as Snape but gets hardly any credit. Arguably the kinder of the two out of Sirius and Regulus, esp. given Sirius sent Snape to meet a werewolf Lupin knowing it would likely get him killed. That’s a pretty dark move.

Snape was recruited as a 'death eater' at 15 literally because his mates were and it was a trend in Slytherin. Only later did the people like them find out that it actually involves murdering and torturing. A lot of people grew out of the racist emo phase but couldn't get out ...some of them were disposed of . Poor Regulus . He was probably 14/15 when he joined the gang and 16/17 when he died .

I think you also have to take the account of Regulas upbringing. Being born into a pure blooded family and being the youngest he had to live up to a family that take pride in their purity. Sirius may have defected from the idea of his family but while he had James and the Potters, Regulas, had nobody outside of house slytherin. He was more naive than stupid. And Sirius could have done more to help his brother and maybe try to understand his mindset. He did not have to approve of his brothers decisions, but he could have keep trying to persuade him away from the dark lord.

The main reason I ask, is that no doubt however many episodes the series is eventually given altogether per season, there will be more than one missing character from the films, besides Regulus up for consideration, obviously? But for him, they'd be looking for possibly a child version & a teenage version if he was born in 1962 & died in 1979? Wonder who could play him by the time he's needed?🤨🤔

I've always wondered if there was any way for Regulus to be saved. Kreaceher had told him about the cave. He must have known what to expect. Couldn't he come up with a plan to escape? Simply put, he could teleport with Kreacher. Why did he choose not to escape? Letting yourself die sounds like suicide. He realized that the ideologies he believed in throughout his life were nonsense, he felt remorse for the bad things he did and wanted to punish himself, or he was so afraid of Voldemort that he preferred to die rather than stay alive and face him. Or, more likely, Rowling didn't think it through that thoroughly. Regulus' story is full of holes. How he discovered the horcruxes, his psychology on the way to his betrayal. so it's pretty fun to think about it.

Always loved Regulus' story and wished Sirius could have known and it had been included in the film. One thing I can't reconcile though-who refilled the basin potion AFTER Regulus drank it? After Kreacher was forced to drink it he said Voldemort refilled it, but Kreacher didn't know how to make it, and he never said he refilled it, either. And since he was very detailed telling the story (and was suffering from intense thirst at this point), he just wanted to get water from the lake. A refilling spell wasn't used because Regulus drank it dry. Voldemort never went back to the cave again until the year after Dumbledore and Harry were there. I have no choice but to call this one a genuine plot hole.

Yeah I figured as long as something remains in the bowl, the fake locket, it refills. When voldemort gets there and it’s empty it’s because there is no locket in place. That’s what I figured anyway.

@@emankcin1701 just checked the book. It is a bit more ambiguous than that. You are right it wasn’t empty but it also doesn’t specifically say Voldemort turns it clear. It says “for a second he looked down upon a basin whose potion had turned clear, and saw that no golden locket lay safe beneath the surface -“
I’m not sure if this is what was intended but I would read that as the bowl self refills but since it was empty it was clear liquid not green as before. I see it could be up for interpretation though.

Instead of Harry and company, they should do a multiple season run involving the time when Lily, Bellatrix, Regulus, and etc were going to Hogwarts! Countless storylines involving lots of characters! And a huge money maker as well!!!

He's intriguing as the only character (at least that I'm aware of) that turned on Voldemort before he lost his powers. How he found out about horcruxes and how to find the locket would be interesting. Also, what did the family and other Death Eaters think had happened to him? They obviously knew he'd died but only Kreacher knew how

It's thought that by the time Voldemort attempted to kill Harry that night in Godric's Hollow, V's soul was so maimed, mutilated, and unstable from all of the murders he'd committed and the horcruxes he'd created, that he had very little, if any, control over what happened to his soul on 31 October 1991. V's soul was also up against the protection of Lily's tremendous amount of love for Harry, and her sacrifice; V's soul just didn't stand a chance of holding together whatever was left of it, against the mighty power of a mother's unconditional love for her child.

Does anyone not notice the shear contradiction of Serious's moral compass??.... Or is it just me??....
Let me explain.... On one hand Serious wanted his younger brother Regulus to free himself from his parents pure blood supremist ideologies, he wished he made better decisions but yet when Serious was a young man he contributed to the bullying of Severus Snape along with his friends; James, Remus and Peter.... Make it make sense.
I mean, if he could show a moral compass for his family why couldn't he humble himself when it came to Severus Snape?.
Another thing that's largly contradicting as well is the relationship between Regulus and Kreacher the house elf; you all know that house elves can become FREE elves if given clothes (as portrayed in the movies via the encounter between Harry and Doby "though I'm not sure about the books never read the books as i have adhd/autism i don't have a strong enough attention span for book reading") so why if the relationship between Regulas and Kreacher was such a close bond, then didn't Regulas free Kreacher from being a house elf like Harry did with Doby?

None of the Marauders' had much of a moral compass ( except Lupin maybe). What they did to Snape is glossed over as bullying, but it was actually sexual harassment . They cared for people whom they liked and completely disregarded others' feelings and safety while making up excuses to justify that. Even Draco , who made Harry's life a nightmare, never descended to strip him in public or push him towards inevitable death ( like Sirius did to Snape ). I don't understand how James became the head boy , Hogwarts rules were messed up .
So , Sirius' attitude towards Regulus doesn't surprise me .
And why didn't Regulus free Kreacher you say ? It never occurred to him ( if a Death Eater's elf runs free to leak the information, that's bad news). And a lot of elves don't want freedom because of generational brainwashing , they thought a free elf is a disgrace! After the Voldemort issue , he couldn't free him because if Kreacher ran out or something and if that reached Voldemort's ears ( that his victim of Horcrux cave actually came back alive to tell the tale) , Kreacher, Regulus, His mom would all be killed .

So this video paints RAB as an unsung hero, but did he accomplish anything? It reminds me of Amy Farrah Fowler pointing out that Raiders of the Lost Ark would have turned out the same if Indiana hadn't been there.
RAB gave his life to get the locket out and that would have frustrated Voldemort, if he'd known. It is a well intended sacrifice, but seems kind of pointless. Instead of disrupting Voldemort's plans, it frustrates Harry who then spent months looking for the locket a second time. If not for RAB's good intentions, Harry would have had the locket months sooner.. Maybe he could have destroyed it over the summer instead of wondering who RAB was and what he did with the locket.
    Am I missing something?

Controversial opinions ahead perhaps: People need to stop trying to give depth to evil characters like Draco, Regulas and Narcissa, and stretching goodness to characters like Andromeda that show Slytherin is good. No. Slytherin is evil. Cartoonishly evil. Regulas and Andromeda don't even appear in the books. Draco is a spineless bully who fans redeemed in the heads but no redemption happens in the books or movies. JK doesn't likr Draco. No Slytherins ae petrified in the COS suggesting there are no mugglebprns in Slytherin. Only Slytherins join Umbridge and none join DA. And no Slytherins return to fight during the Battle of Hogwarts. Its only Slughorn. And is it a coincidence that Old Reggie is always depict as handsome and attractive, instead gross and offputting. Yes he described has handsome but the pictures people use to depict him are always very strikingly handsome and upbeat, not capturing the evil person he was. That's part of fans redeeming him in their heads. And only in their heads. We get a small unreliable account of its exploits, and by all accounts, he was basically evil. Before Harry Potter youtube channels who remembered Regulas was a character? I didn't. Always forgot he existed. It works like this: Gryffindor is good, Slytherin is evil, Ravenclaw is smart, and Hufflepuff is other. Simple as that. I love Harry Potter, love it but let's not suggest that Harry Potter has any moral depth. Snape is grey at best and even then he is relentless bully to everyone and Slughorn is the only viable Slytherin yet he is still kinda racist. There are no good Slytherins. Period. At all. All the villains are from Slytherin and the ones that aren't are Voldemorts spineless lackeys. All evil in Harry Potter Universe comes from Slytherin. It would better if Slytherin was a more well rounded and the other three had more darker qualities. But they don't. That's just how it is. I strongly suspect the love of Slytherin has to do with the current trend of loving and rehabilitating villains and evill characters, and tearing down good characters and making them much worse than they actually. These are just my opinions as strong as they, I'm always open to have my mind changed. I love Harry Potter so let's all enjoy it. Love you channel man. Keep it up. ⚡️
