This concert was the second within three days at this venue, both of them sold out at over 3000 a pop. The venue is a prestigious honor for a Mexican performer to appear there. At the time it was the largest crowd they had ever drawn as a headliner. That was subsequently exclipsed last year with concerts in Monterrey (over 4300) and Mexico City (8000). They have already booked a show at a 10,000 seat venue in Mexico City for early 2025 and are in the process of selling it out twice. They are right popular in their home country and the rest of the world is just beginning to understand why. Currently they have song titled S!CK from the upcoming album, Keep Me Fed that holds the #8 spot on both the Billboard and iHeart Mainstream Rock charts in the US.

That show is next week on the 12th. I’ve heard it is a 900 capacity venue who’s is probably small for Band-Maid in Japan but The Warning aren’t that well known in Japan yet.

Notice that Dany sings as the leader while Pau sings as the follower; call and response. From the ladies it is a commentary on people blindly following social media and such without question. Several of their songs have similar themes.

Some crazy facts: they are only 22, 20 and 17 in this 2022 video. All the original music was written/recorded prior to 2020 when they were 20, 18 and 15. Their first album was released in 2017 when they were 17, 15 and 12 but the album was mostly completed in 2016 when they were a year younger.

Fantastic reaction. You’re spot on. Pau concieved the song as a duet between the “leader”/influencer/propagandist (Dany) and the “disciple”/blind follower (Pau). I see the “swim with the fishes until they drown” as staying in your space of ignorance forever (cuz fish won’t drown) and “love is just an excuse we rely on” referring to social media likes/hearts. Propagandists/disciples rely on them to “validate” their good friend hate.

Thanks Bill. This is your first taste of Pau with lead vocal lines, and killing it on drums . Love that drum fill while singing,🤘🤘, yea that one that got you too, lol. You get lead lines from all 3, Dany and Pau on co lead, and the '2 3 Go' is Ale's line. Song is from the 3rd album Error. "Don't be over, noooo" 🤣. Yeah , this song has a sudden stop, live and in studio, like Dream Theater's "Pull Me Under" does. Also your first taste of this concert from Aug 2022, all 22 songs are awesome.
The gear masters are great, even if you don't know instruments, you get a little bit of their personalities.

These ladies are incapable of writing a bad song. Watch the entire concert from Teatro Metropolitan from August of 2022. Choke is the video I saw 15 months ago that spiralled me into The Warning rabbit hole. There are so many of their songs that take the listener on a musical and lyrical super rollercoaster ride, with slow build ups, pauses, then extreme pounding cords and bass lines. The Warning is a once in a generation phenomenon. I flew down from Portland Oregon with my daughter to see them live over 6 months ago in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole there's no way out, like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs).⚡🤘

Thanks Bill for another thoughtful reaction. Adding to the lyric interpretation: "Kill the system, kill the man" - I don't see that as the message that they are espousing but instead it's the cautionary part of what social media is being used to do by those who seek to control. People are being encouraged to trash our systems not fix them. I think part of what they're implying is that people need to be careful what they ask for when they say that you have to rebel and burn it all down. Not saying we don't question, advocate, push for change; I'm seeing that their primary message is THINK. My personal mantra is always to ask "Who benefits?" before you burn it all down because you may end up burning your own house down too.

Do yourself a favor and get tickets if The Warning is ever anywhere remotely near you. I saw them twice in April and have tickets to four more shows this year. Catch them while they're still playing the smaller venues, they won't be there much longer.

_The Warning_ are masters of using the "abrupt ending" to fantastic effect. It puts a definite "period, end of story" point to the song. One of the things that absolutely drew me into the band a few years ago is their songwriting. Paulina usually advances the initial song concept, and is a major creative force to the group, especially lyrically, but they all take that presented concept and run with it. Often what comes out the other end of the creative process bears little relation to how it started - but sometimes, what Pau writes is mostly exactly what they record. Often the straight-up ballads, which are usually sung by her as well.
I love their songwriting! Well composed and structured with deep meanings and great rhyme schemes. I like that they all contribute to the writing process which makes the songs stronger. Thank you, my friend! 🤘❤️🤘

I had a hard time understanding the line "Swimming with the fishes", I came up with that it could represent someone following the trends and ideas that constantly bombard them on social media. It's like being swept away in a current, losing your own individuality and critical thinking. The phrase "until they drown" makes it darker. Social media can be a breeding ground for negativity and unrealistic expectations. The "fishes" could represent those who perpetuate negativity, and "drowning" symbolizes being suffocated by this toxicity. The line appears right before the lyric "Love is just another excuse we rely on." This could be criticizing how social media portrays love and connection as superficial and performative. "Swimming with the fishes" might be about getting caught up in these inauthentic portrayals, neglecting genuine human connection.

The band is FREEZE THE FALL-please react to their song ‘Daughters of Witches’-you will find that most fans of The Warning are also fans of FTF--and the band will show up in the comments! They are another band that is keeping Rock Alive and Well!

The laptop does a few things.
It lauches the click that they hear in their ears so they can stay in time and be more tight live
It controls the light show.
It plays any samples and sound effects that are included on studio tracks to enhance the show. For instance the sound of a cash register or gunshots ect.
And they use backing tracks. Every instrument you see in stage is being played live, but there are some songs with keyboards. So they will play the pre recorded keyboard track live instead of hiring someone to play keyboard on tour. Also some songs have percussion shakers as well as drums. Obviously, paulina can not hit drums and shake as well. So the drums will be live, but the shaker played as a recording.
These backing tracks are there to enhance the show and not to fake it. They dont really need them, but want them so its their show
This is the laptops job.
And when there are technical issues (and there have been technical issues), DPA are more than capable of carrying on without the fancy add-ons and still providing a top-tier show.

Disciple is a great song and one of my faves from Error. The rig rundown are always fun. you should check out he ones her and Ale and Dany did during the pandemic just to see the difference in the stuff they use now compared to then lol I am going to see them in Oct in Vancouver when they open for Halestorm and Evanessence, which will be great BUT I would rather see them headlining as their set would be longer >.

In the line "swimming with the fishes til they drown", I think she is talking about the disciples swimming with the fishes til they drown, not the fishes drowning. For me, the song is cautioning us not to fall into mob-like conspiracy theories. They have another song KOOL AID KIDS that delves into this deeper.
