Thank you everyone who has watched!✨✨ I really appreciate it! There are always pros and cons to a place, but I definitely can't get used to parts about America after living abroad in so long - especially the hyper-indvidualism and lack of walkability. I miss moving my body and I miss culturally caring for one another. In my day to day life, things are good and I really can't complain but these are just some cultural aspects that I don't think I'll ever get used to. What are some things about your home country you don't vibe with?

I definitely agree with all of this ( especially when it comes to individualism ). I really admire communities that are centered around collectivism and the cultivation of strong communities. Visiting these places was a huge eye opener for me.

As an America, I wholly agree with you, Day. I have been connecting with folks from all over the world since the pandemic, and even though I have not travelled there, it really feels like other places have such a different mentality and way of going about things. Of course, every where has its pros and cons, but the transportation issue is really huge for folks.
Really good to hear from you again!

Hii Rosedarkling! Long time no see! I totally agreee, and I wish transprotation was bigger here. The reliability on cars is bad for our health, pockets, and the environment. Miss you!!! Happy to hear you've made friends all over the world! :D

Hooray! Day is back! I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we missed you and your videos! I am a millennial. I've not lived abroad, but I have been lucky enough to travel a bit. England, Wales, France, and... Japan & Korea! I've met a lot of different people through traveling, but it seems like the happiest people are the ones with a strong community, even when there may not be much money.

Welcome back ~ I think most striking to me that I agree (among everything) on is the anger problems here!! I’ve been fortunate to travel and my favorite thing is how people in other countries are so much more CHILL… even in some cases I feel so much safer being trans because it’s not a huge political focus. It actually feels like a vacation to be somewhere else not in the country. I am grateful the communities i have here have more interdependence but i also think this only exists because we are all minorities and need to survive the system by relying on eachother

Happy Early Birthday!! I feel this so deeply. Coming back to America from Korea is quite depressing even though there’s pros and cons everywhere. But I wouldn’t go back to Korea. Time for the next adventure I guess 😁

Thanks for the birthday wish! :D I totally agree, I love Korea, but I couldn't live there long-term again. They're also overworked and burnt out over there 😭

Yeah, it is not your imagination! Everything, in America, is more than expensive. The cost of living is terrible!
I don't know what the cost of living overseas is, but it's surprising that you decided to move back when the economy is in shambles. 😟
I wish you would have waited before coming back here (based on expenses alone).
I've only lived in Okinawa as a little girl in the 90s, so I definitely know that things have changed in Japan price-wise. But Korea? I can't say for that either. If the prices are better, I would still be afraid to move back there if I were you (mainly because if you did, the prices might mysteriously be worse than the U.S.🤣). Hopefully, everything will go down soon. I have a feeling it will!
    Either way, welcome back! 😃

No yeah I didn't know the economy was so bad when I returned! I guess it makes sense with covid! My apartment in Korea was $600 a month 😭 It was small, but I didn't mind it haha!! Healthcare access and public transit was the greatest part for mee, though!
I know Americans who've traveled to Japan and said it was cheaper than the states lol! I used to tell people Japan is really expensive, but now America is too expensive haha

I definitely tell people to try to travel at least once in their life! Just experience the world a bit, it really opens your eyes. You can always come back if you don't like it!
